This is a great video with really good advice. Live sound is definitely a lifestyle. If you're "kinda" into it, you can do some of that locally in clubs or churches, but touring is a lifestyle.

Great guy and great interview. We use Avantis' for our FOH and MON positions and love the A&H platform. Def going to implement some "tricks" shared here. Thanks so much for creating this. It's inspiring to see that we are not "out here alone". You are asking some of the deep questions that we all need to hear the answers to. Thanks again.

Saw the Lady A show in Greenville SC recently - and if you did the FOH mix, I just have to say it was awesome! I'm a bassist - and always love when a FOH engineer can create a mix that doesn't make the bass sound "dark" and undefined in favor of an articulate kick drum. That mix was the bomb!

    Awesome video!
I've used some of the D-Live desks on occasion, but the main desk I used was the Allen & Heath SQ6.
My current system (as I am just 1 guy and have to stay super portable) is the Behringer XR18.

Love seeing the dLive console in use; highly underrated. Nice touch to have a soft key programed to toggle all your inserts in/out. Been starting to explore whether I can integrate SuperRack and GLD console via MIDI so appreciate your info on how you do MIDI with dLive.

Excellent stuff! Can i recommend some close ups of specific gear/screens when it comes up in conversation? Like overlayed in the editing process or something. Mostly for people who don't use all of this gear as they might not know exactly what is being spoken about. Thanks again for great content!

REGARDING THE FUTURE fascinating and I can say true 10 years ago I did sweep up a bunch of lp records I love. Stuff like Anemia TOOL frogstomp Silverchair etc and yes sitting on a small fortune but it’s true as a dedicated audiophile and FOH junkie well unfortunately people don’t want the complication the want convenience and sharing but It’s just not me. It’s intimate it’s addictive and it’s music. Party on.

Lady A is a band. Used to be called Lady Antebellum, but they changed their name because of the connotation of Antebellum.

A quick google search of “Lady A” may answer a lot of questions for you.

They changed there name as there already was a performer going by the name of Lady Antebellum and Lady A's management was unable to work out a deal for the rights to the name.

It's comical to me to watch people try to explain how they end up in places using words like energy and will. God did it, just say that and you won't look so silly.
