Winter Storms to Cause Blizzards and Severe Thunderstorms

Storm Prediction Center has the Gulf of Mexico coastline and surrounding areas targeted for a rising threat of severe thunderstorm activity as we continue to monitor trends with our upcoming storm system. Snowfall is back and forth, and we'll discuss some of the influences affecting where we're likely to see the heaviest snowfall and just how much.

The Jersey Shore always dodges most of these snowstorms since we're just too close to the ocean and the storm track is always to our West most of the time.

You know this sounds weird on the European model run. We had a sustain wind of 24mph and a gust of 82 mph. And I question myself is that run a bit overdone and maybe just to scare people. Because if that were to happen, power could be out for up to a couple of days and people may have to seek shelter somewhere else such as a hotel, or a friends house with a generator
