Sahaj is such an underrated musician is not even fair. That voice!! Much respect to him and the gents.
Yep there songs are too deep and meaningful to be mainstream would wake too many people up which is sad cause you’ve got garbage music for the most part being played vs stuff like this with ancient knowledge etc. My buddy introduced me to them over 10 years ago is the only way I found them they became my favorite band too.
Absolutely, such a powerful voice that commands your attention 😀 Ra - they're perfection👌🤘
One of the greatest vocalist alive. Still waiting for a Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors intro cover. Sue me, an 80's child can dream.
@@nhuxley29 true. People prefer to live a life of degeneracy and as posers over reality. This band is the first concert that i went to as a kid (late 90s, early 2000s). Got a signed CD from the lead singer. It got lost in life though 😔 wish i still had it
I agree. he is so talented from the first time I heard him back in early 2000
The fact that RA isn't headlining arenas still blows my mind.
Ra.. Long may you run.
I grew up listening to RA, seeing this now as a man it warms my heart. This band is better than ever. What a treat, thank you guys
I started listening to when mx vs atv came out on PS2 and it has been my favorite rock band ever since. So glad they are back at it
@@Sarj_ent wait they were on mx vs atv??????? what song?
@@Sarj_ent Sadly, I found them back a few years ago, but I have listened to them ever since. Better late than never.
Still my fav Ra song all these years later. Those harmonies are amazing
One of the most underrated rock songs of the past few decades. The guitar work combined with Sahaj's incredible vocal ability elevates it to another level. Also, Ben Carroll's guitar phrasing, tuning and effects are so unique. Keep rocking Ra.
RA is that band you simply can’t comprehend how they aren’t 100000000x bigger than what they are. They’re smooth like butter.
Absolutely agree
The music industry has their own agenda.
I painted a picture
Of a day gone past
An ancient scripture
And a house of glass
People looking through the window
Never knowing what they'd find
When they couldn't see me
I locked the door and left them behind
The sky will tell me
I'm not the only one
And the sky will tell me
I must believe the sun
I shut my eyes
To not go blind
Things I can't see
I see in my mind
Now the passing clouds of rain
Have surely passed us by
Poor is the man
That believes his own lie
And the sky will tell me
I'm not the only one
And the sky will tell me
I must believe the sun
And the sky will tell me
Long may you run
And the sky will tell me
I must believe the sun
Yeah...
If I was wrong
Judge me by name
I simplify
One and the same
And the sky will tell me
I'm not the only one
And the sky will tell me
I must believe the sun
And the sky will tell me
Long may you run
And the sky will tell me
I must believe the sun
Criminally underrated band
"Sky" has been one of my favorite songs since the From One album came out. Hearing it now reinvigorates that admiration, and blows my mind all over again. Y'all are masterful in your craft, and I can't overstate my gratitude to you for continuously putting out such amazing music.
Thank you!
Thank you Morgan!!
Very underrated under appreciated you guys f****** rock
These guys deserve more fame and recognition! They have it all. I have been listening since their first album and every song is amazing.
Such a killer sound, and rhythm.
I'm so glad you guys are still together, and playing these great songs.
Great song from a great album that still holds up almost 2 decades later. Can't say the same of most rockers from 2002.
I found Ra in May of 2005 on a business trip to Boston. I was brokenly sad that I had to leave my one month old daughter, now 16 and driving :-). This song always reminds me of those precious days of her being a baby and me learning more of who this band ‘Ra’ was and how much they positively affected me during that time. Cheers, guys. I’m glad to see you all jamming again.
🔥🌞🔥
A strange coincidence that I rediscovered Ra while going through something eerily similar…
@@whineywyvern5269 really? Tell us more.
Everyone here is saying how underrated Ra was, and they are absolutely correct. It blows my mind that they aren't GOAT status among the early 2000s alt rock/metal wave.
Ra has a spot in my life that'll never die. Never knew how much they'd carry me through the thick and the thin. From the days lost in the countless and seemingly meaningless nights of work to that jinx of the day I looked up in joy at the Sun to ask what was next since being so perceptibly low took me so far. Thanks Sagaj. Look for the irony in life, there's answers within it.
One of the best songs ever written!!! I still get the same feeling i got the first time i heard it everytime i hear it 19years later🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Me Too!!!! Best song on that album.
Chills. Every. Single. Time on "I SHUT MY EYYYYYES"
Yeah man. Chills and tears.
Hearing this band for the first time ever, no joke! What a great performance, I'm a new fan!
Damn I just now saw this.. This has been mine, and my Dad's favorite RA song for almost 2 decades! This is absolutely SICK!
One of the greatest rock songs of all time. Full stop. No notes.👊
How am I just finding out about this band? I've listened to everything and I love it. The harmonies are freaking amazing. The brother singing is for real!
Happy you found us!!
My love for this song and this band knows NO BOUNDS. I cannot thank you enough for this. What a breathtaking performance. If this is a preview for a future tour, I AM SO THERE.
We go out this August!!
@@Sungodrock HELL yes :)
@@Sungodrock I found your Tour Dates. Anything closer than Ohio to the Northeast in the near future?
Everything is a 9+ hours drive starting at the closest in Marietta, Ohio.
I wish I had the opportunity to listen to them back in the early 2000s when all my life revolved around was music. Unfortunately, where I live, we only had MTV Asia to feed us with all the music we knew then. I never saw Ra's music videos. I found them randomly on YT around 4-5 years ago and realised I would have loved their music even more during my college years. Nevertheless, I love the band now and Sahaj's vocals are on another level altogether. Not to mention, the band altogether is sooo good. Please try to incorporate some of your old sound into your newer albums for the sake of us peeps from that generation.
I was raised on a wide range of music as a kid. Great music spans generations. I list Ra as one of my favorite bands of all time. Amazing composition, singing, and writing.
Thank you, Lee
Really love that he's wearing a Starset shirt. Two of my favorite bands here. Those vocals are out of this world, I've heard many from all different vocal ranges and varieties. But Sahaj has vocals that always stick with me, it's spiritual.
July 20, 2022.
On my journey to better myself, I came across this talented band and this beautiful song.
To anyone who is reading this, I hope you are doing well.
Sahaj is one of those singers that’s even better live. Ra is quickly becoming one of my most favorite bands of all time.
You can’t do that!!! You can’t just bring down the house like that!!! This track is a straight masterpiece.🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘RAFL.
I have been listening since 2002... your music has kept me going for years. Thank you, Ra!!!
How the hell on their only 992 thumbs up for this? Absolutely amazing performance. Too bad I can only give it one thumb up!
Instant fan
Yeah I've gotta say this song is up there amongst my all-time favourites along side on my side. This live version is just unreal and that voice! Class band 👌
Thank you!
Loved this band ever since I first heard “Do you call my name” on the radio.
Fun fact: the lead singer is the brother of Melina from the original Total Recall 😅
One of the most beautiful songs by RA.
Woooooo! Had this on as background music. Guitar kicks in and I about break my neck from looking over at the video so fast. Great performance, guys! Totally forgot about this one.
Damn this sounds almost studio perfect, so clean!
I so often see people post on videos of bands that shaped their teen years saying 'oh they sound exactly the same' when it's obvious they don't. - This man right here sounds like perfection without hyperbole. Been a fan for nearly 20 years and will continue to be a fan till they put me in the dirt.
I haven't listened to this band in a long time but I'm glad I started to again. This brings back so many memories. I remember hearing "Do You Call My Name" sometime around the early to mid 2000's and based off that song I decided to buy the whole album which I believe is called "From One". The whole album is awesome. I still have the album put away with all my other CD's. I bought a couple more Ra albums after that too which I need to pull out and have a listen to. Definitely excited to get back into this wicked band.
2:13 I still don't know how he hits that note! Such an underrated band
I have introduced so many people to this band over the years. Everytime its like "Why haven't I heard of them before?!?"
so glad these guys are still rocking. i actually discovered them a year or so ago. hopefully i can see them live soon!
I discovered them a few months ago n same
@@Mixed_Activist I've discovered a lot of great bands lately on Spotify. I think back when Ra came out, corporate radio was shafting a lot of great bands. They just promoted what the labels wanted to and the DJs had little control in playing actual good music.
To me, RA will always be the band that never got a fair chance. They have put out quality music for years and haven't gotten a chance. Bands with half the talent have been pushed to the top, and it's annoying.
Whenever I've hear this song live, that moment when Sahaj says "Ben!" before he solos always gets me. It's like "here we fuckin go, boys!"
Unbelievable vocals and harmonies long live RA
That solo is F-ing beautiful! 😫
I AM 45 YEARS OLD & I GREW UP LOVING THIS BAND.
FUCKING BEST BAND .....!!!
-PERIOD-
man vocals that sound this authentic at a show is awesome unreal
My God. Speechless. What an amazing performance of "Sky". All these sweetwater performances are absolutely beautiful. Keep it up guys, we love ya! *muah*
If I hold up a sign saying "let me play 'Fallen Angels" it's def me 😉
Best song on the album.
Grew up listening to these guys and were one of my initial memories of rock music. So happy to see this, over a decade later.
Blown away that in almost 40 years of life and I discovered your band a few months ago... growing up as a musician as well... Outstanding talent. I dont know yalls names but ALL day I be singing with you and when I get home Im drumming away to those sick beats.
22 years after watching you at Club 125 NH....Awesome seeing/hearing Sky performed again
So glad I found this band that's so criminally underrated
Love this song sooooo much this performance gave me goosebumps 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼❤️❤️❤️
That led wall is gorgeous. The starset shirt is killer too. This is hands down my fave song by them
Your voice still the same even with age I love hearing your songs I've embraced my spirituality with your songs through the years I believe it was ment to be ty🌙
Don’t know how these guys aren’t more popular I literally just discovered them they seem to have pumped banger after banger from what I’ve hear these past few hours!
Keep up the good music. This song is my favorite RA song.
I have been a fan since the One EP and had the pleasure of seeing you guys 2 or 3 times back in 01' / 02'. This song gave me chills then, and still hits just as hard 20+ years later. Thank you!
Hello from Australia.
I listen to you guys daily. I'm no limp male by any means. 44 years old and been through a few things...
So when I say this song cracks me like an egg every time I hear it, I hope it means something to you guys.
Thanks for the soaring chorus's and the tears no one ever sees me shed.
How this song doesn't have a hundred million views I'll never understand.
Love.
❤❤
without a doubt, one of the best bands I've met in the last 5 years.
I wish you every success, you deserve all the recognition possible!! ☀️ > RA
These guys make a really good sound, they deserve more recognition!
Such an amazing song from such and underrated and under appreciated band. Love to blast this while driving on a beautiful day!
Sahaj is one of the best vocalists I've ever heard. To know he can perform this well live as awesome!!!
Saw them perform in Leominster Ma in 2002 and hung out with the band after the show and had some beers. Maybe the best live performance I’ve ever seen.
is it-- and the sky will tell me? or-- and this guy will tell me? the world may never know.... great song, even better performace !!!
Sahaj is definitely one of my favorite vocalists. Been for a while 🏆
Simply amazing guys!!! I've heard this song before, but not live! You guys nailed it! This band is so underrated... They need more recognition!!!
From One came out at the absolute perfect time when I and my high school buddies got drivers licenses and our parents let us take their cars out to just cruise. This CD made it into no less than 2 Ford Taurus's, a Chevrolet Lumina, a Mitsubishi Diamante AND a Mazda MX-6. Talk about a World Tour. We just drove and rocked out and contemplated weird early 2000's teenage things.
We were still very much the nerds we had been our whole life, girls maybe-kinda looked at us, high school was starting to feel stupid.... Ra though, that felt amazing.
This 2024 and I still listen to RA. Found them long ago "From One". Like other fans I have no idea how they did not become huge.
i shut my ears but i'm listioning
My alltime favorite. So glad you are still rocking this😍😍 man I love it so much I had to come back and add to this comment.
I want you to know that you have inspired musicians and average Joe's alike all up and down the east coast. I can't tell you how many people I've played this for over the years. Like "listen man. Whole band sings this part live" and the vocal feature toward the end, such a classic. Still gives me chills. Ever since your manager gave me a signed copy of your 5-6 song demo back in like 2001.
Through the years I'd listen to songs like waste of space and be pissed off with you! But songs like this one and superman are so great because everyone can apply the symbolism to their own situation, so they mean so many different things for so many different people.
That's what it's all about right there
Thank you so much Chris. Means the world to us to hear that.🌞🔥🌞
Word for word, exactly what Chris said. You've got a lot of fans who believe and will keep following. Keep up the great work!
Thank you, Ra, for being the awesome band you guys have always been.
You deserve far more recognition but it's so cool to see you guys working with other artists recently. Your Who We Be cover featuring Adrian Patrick is just perfect.
Sayor as a whole loves you guys and you are one of our major influences as a band both individually and collectively. Thanks, Ra!
❤❤
Between Sahajs voice, Bens excellent solos, PJs deep basswork, Skootas drumwork (welcome back!!!!) its just so hard to beat.
Ben... I often dont like guitar solos because they often sound like someone stroking ego and dont match the song. A guitar solos greatness is not how quickly you can pluck strings... HOWEVER every last one of your solos fits the song perfectly and gives it that extra bit of dimension that helps push the song to such high levels of musical bliss.
Ben's solo is note perfect. Technical guitar solo's very rarely impress me unless it's something like Gordian Knot - River's Dancing. This is just a perfect solo that elevates the song.
KickAss Fellas!!! Jam, Performance, Video...All of it... STR8 Bangah!!! \m/\m/
песня огонь
WELL DONE! The harmonies, tone, sound guy all spot on.
Amazing Track played live it sounds immensely better what a tune!!!! i remember this song from the album From one :) such a great tune!!!! SAHAJ its like your voice is a fine wine just keeps getting better with Age how do you do it bruh absolutely killed this!!!
Underrated band bruh. Main man’s voice still holds up 20 years later
Talking about not losing touch what so ever you all sound AMAZING as ever my favorite jam from RA 🤘🤘🔥🔥
You guys are amazing. One of the best singers alive today.
Anyone and Everyone commenting on this is my immediate family. This is my therapy. I have been a Die Hard fan since Day One. This is truly my Favorite Band of All Time. I know everything about them. They say " Never meet your Hero " There was a test to that. Sahaj is a Class Act and a True Hero and hope they all understand us as a Fanbase. We are the Best of the Breed. I love all the members and can always dream of a full titled reunion ❤
Thank you. 🙏🙏
I have loved this and all your songs for what feels like 20 years now. Your voice is amazing.
Such a criminally underrated band, wish more people knew about these incredible musicians. You guys rock!
I found Ra on a random burned CD someone dropped near the sidewalk 14 years ago, and of all the random chance life events, it's easily in my top 5 most influential. Your music has helped me through a lot, and I'm super stoked for the new stuff you're putting out.
Goosebumps, holy shit this is one of their many great ones. Can't believe they never got huge, I used to rock them all the time as if they were because to me they've always been one of my favorites
Thank u Joshua.🙏
Always been my favorite tune my dad would play ra cds for me when i was young definitely one of the best out there
Long live the mighty Ra!
I was having conversation with my daughter the other about Singers I really enjoyed listening too, and Sahaj is at the top of that list!
I found Ra long ago with the From one CD. I have no idea how these guys have never broke thru... astonishing talented band. The music has this aura around it.... draws you in for the ride...
My brothers favorite song before he passed away, never knew who sung it until it started playing on my my RUclips feed, instantly brought tears to my eyes. Thank you guys for this awesome track and helping me keep memories with him you guys rock 🎸
sorry for your loss, Jon
Thanks guys it means alot to hear that
Awesome! Just found this Sweetwater goodness. By far my favorite Ra song, ending From One left me wanting more with that fade out!
I remember first hearing this song around 20 years ago. It gave me chills then, and still gives me chills now. What a powerful song.
I am so glad that you guys are still together and I wish you all the best.
When the live version is better than the album version (not an easy feat for this song either!).
also checked out the "don't turn away" live video and for whatever reason the tone on this one is so on point by comparison.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this song! I’m such a fan🥰
I tilt my hat in respect! it's easy to forget throughout most parts of the song that this is being played live!
Even better than the album version!
I remember the 1st time hearing this song... I was blown away. I always felt like the guitar solo in this song was very reminiscent of a David Gilmour solo (Yet Another Movie perhaps). Fits this song absolutely perfectly.
Gilmour was def what we had in mind!...
Such a beautiful song…
Amazing performance! and nice to see Stephen Carpenter's signature guitar! :D
It's based on an SC but the headstock and pickups config are different.
@@Sungodrock Even better! 🤟🏼
