Van Halen got their energy from being the best party band in Los Angeles during their formative years in the mid-70s. They originally played the Pasadena party circuit before they broke, and you can really hear it in their sound from those early years. They were one of those few bands who really knew how to make people get up and shake it.

On lead vocals! Diamond David Lee Roth!!! And on the bass guitar we have Michael Anthony... over on keyboards and lead guitar, the man that influenced every aspiring rock guitar player.... Eddie Van Halen!!... last but not least, on the drums the one and only Alex Van Halen!!!!!!.......
A Van Halen concert with David Lee Roth in the 80's was the best concert you could ever go to. It was the concert you put on your calendar and did everything to make sure you were there. It was a HUGE party and the best time you could ever have.... memories to last you a lifetime and a half.

Your instincts are correct. The Gr80's were the best decade. The rock was great, the second British invasion, rap was arriving on the scene, and the R&B was terrific. So many genres and all were on fire in the 80's....

The 80’s were fun. I saw them in 84’. Awesome show. It was this album’s tour. You need to react to more 80’s rock music. They were called hair bands for obvious reasons. And yes a lot of these guys were talented musicians. The guitarist is Eddie Van Halen and his brother is the drummer Alex.

I'm 60 in two weeks, I'm very privileged to have lived through these times in Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺 my parents had me when they were old, they lived through the great depression, my mother was in the British army and was in London when it was bombed by the Germans, I got all there music they listened to, all the way though when rock was born, the blues, the Beatles, Zztop, I saw Van Halen in Brisbane, over 25 years ago, George Thorogood, the stage was about 2 feet off the ground I stood about 2 metres away from him, at a big pub North Brisbane. I saw ACDC Brisbane city over 40 years ago, Iron Maiden, and many more. But it is coming back. There is a massive paradigm shift taking place across the globe, get ready everyone 👍 😀.

For those that never got the opportunity to see any of their concerts, you missed out on one of the best live performances. I’ve been to 4 of their concerts, which included both frontmen David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar. The 70’s and 80’s music scene will never be duplicated or even come close to it. During the 80’s the dance halls were 🔥with all of the great R&B music and the Hard Rock concerts were off the charts. 80’s was such an awesome time to be a teenager.

I was a teenager in the 80’s, it was an awesome time to be alive. We had less racial tension then compared to now, you could go to a Van Halen, Def Leppard, “ Earth, Wind and Fire” , Commodores concert and did not think of race. We even laughed together watching Archie Bunker in All in the Family, Fred Sanford or the Jeffersons. Somehow we need to unify together and what you are doing is helping.
I mentioned Earth, Wind and Fire as I was on RUclips listening to their song September…

So the band name, Van Halen, comes from the last name of the guitarist and drummer, whose names are Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen, respectively. Eddie unfortunately is no longer with us, we lost him to throat cancer a couple of years ago. But he is remembered as one of the most talented and influential guitarists in the history of popular music, having revolutionized the way people play the instrument. The singer is a guy named David Lee Roth, also called "Diamond Dave" and he's absolutely a spectacle. Energetic, wild, and with a great singing voice, he's been a highly lauded front man for decades of his career.

I was 22 in 1980 and, needless to say, there was very little to worry about. When you can focus your energy on your education, career, relationships and life, generally speaking, you get this kind of music. Today, we are fragmented by so many "negative" things going on and most of it is purposely intended. The more energy people have invested in just trying to cope, the less energy they have for the most important things. Having said this, life is cyclic and it's "normal" for ebbs and flows. We are living in a time when certain things are coming to and end and new beginnings are occurring. Even though I'm in my 60s, reaction videos like yours are such a nice distraction. Keep them coming JayShara, and thank you!! : )

Favorite band, aeen multiple times...is the official video. Quickly, David Lee Roth is the lead singer, Eddie Van Halen lead guitar, Alex Van Halen Drums and Michael Anthony Bass Guitar. Eddie passed away last fall. Played guuyar on Beat It. Has arguably the best guitar solo known...Eruption Live in New Haven. Singer David Lee Roth parted with them mid 80s and was replaced by Sammy Hagar. Known as a party band and are always high energy. Older stuff I reccomend somw Running With The Devil, Beautiful Girls, and Hot for Teacher. Hagar era... Best of Both Worlds, Dreams, Love Comes Walking In.
