I hope you'll be happy to know, 2 gorilla girls have recently been born at Zoo Antwerpen, Belgium. This Zoo also participates in the breeding programme of the western lowland gorillas. The gorilla girls are doing great and have a lot of fun playing together. They are half-sisters, as they have the same father, and they are the favourites of the public. Thandie was born in 2018 and Vizazi in 2020.
Zoo Antwerpen also has takes care of one of the last Eastern lowland gorillas, that are living in a zoo. The female Amahoro. The zookeepers prepared her a treat as a surprise for her 32nd birthday a few weeks ago.
He is so adorable 🥰. Love how well his surrogate mother takes care of him. They are all adorable 🥰. Congratulations to all!

Gorillas are wonderful creatures, and this tenderness of mothers, which with their great strength is almost unrealistically delicate, is immediately evident when mother loves the child and when for some reason she rejects it. Looking at your children, you can see pride in the eyes and a smiling face staring at the child. This is something wonderful.🦍❤

It’s amazing that Freddy at Cleveland just took over right after birth Mom refused baby, I think her cleaning the baby right away is why at 47 she started lactating and producing breast milk. She is still breastfeeding Kayembe at 2 and a half, so I believe to her and of course to Kayembe she’s his Mommy. Nneka plays with Kayembe but she still doesn’t want to be bothered at times, she never been mean to him but she had
problems with her first birth and I truly believe she doesn’t want or maybe can’t bond naturally. It’s complicated but Kayembe is loved and is such a smart sweet boy.
I just adore seeing these newborn’s with their Mommy’s, such a precious blessing to see. ♥️🙏🏼😘🙏🏼♥️
