Every time I watch his video, he looks like a very kind, genuine, and down-to-earth honest Canadian man. He is also very geeky and enjoys audio and cleaning cars. I want to be a friend with this man. But anyways, it was a very informative video. Really detailed information including the country of origin.
As a fan of cars, audio, and nice people, I must say I want to watch more of your videos. If you please, you should upload more of audio videos as well. Thanks.

I've acquired several towels from the Rag Co. Great stuff! The blue Edgeless Eagles are awesome! They are right in line with the Borderless Blonde from Zaino. I use them as follows:
Edgeless Eagles for removing polishes/sealants/wax only
Pluffle is my main drying towel (if not blow drying with leaf blower)
Waffle Weave with detail spray (originally was my main drying towel until I got the Pluffle)
845 All Purpose (Chemical Guys equivalent is the 'Workhorse'), Green for under hood, door jambs/sills, bottoms of doors, under trunk lid, Blue for windows, Yellow for seats/door panels
Everest 1100, perfect for instrument cluster, radio face, plastic trim on dash/console, top of dash. This won't scratch soft plastic interior pieces. The 845 will as its to abrasive.
Dont use the 845 on paint if your paint is pristine

Fabric softener sheets not only clog the fibers but they also remove the static from the towels. Static is good in the microfiber world as it attracts dust.I purchased the Pluffle and the Eagle Edgeless towels on your advice and they are superb. I used the Pluffle to dry my midnight blue GMC Sierra and was very happy with the results.

  • @BadRonald1

I'm a detailer and have been using microfiber cloths since 2001. I
like them and still get excited when a new or a particular weave that
comes out. I have to try it. (I can't believe I get excited over a
towel) I only purchase the good ones from Korea. But what I've noticed
about Microfibers over the years is their ability to work like they did
when you first bought them. After months of hand washing and hanging to dry to using Microfiber detergent in the delicate cycle to wash them (using low heat to dry) Their lifespan just doesn't hold up nor does the absorbancy. To bad they can't make a microfiber out of a Supima towel.

It's good to know that I can actually wash microfiber towels with cold water. All the videos I've seen from other detailers they say that they must e washed on the hottest setting. Now that I know I can use cold water, all I need is a microfiber detergent. Excellent video.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  7 лет назад +1

The hottest water is the worst idea one could have. Anything above 60 degrees Celsius and you've most likely destroyed the microfibers. Same goes for heating. You can use a good detergent like Tide Free & Clear if you don't want to buy microfiber detergents.

I use that dark blue 80/20 365 for wax and polish removal and spray wax and buffing. The eagle edgeless for buffing or wax removal. They buff well just gently glide across the surface. Don’t press hard. The glass waffle weaves are great. For general cleaning inside and out the Costco/Kirkland 36 pack for $15 cannot be beat. They are 80/20 and last forever.

I found The Rag Company microfiber towels a while ago. Except in the engine bay and if doing ceramic sealants (you have to discard these so I use cheaper towels to buff off) I have been using only The Rag Company's towels. If you have questions for them, they answer quite quickly. I used a couple of brands of dedicated microfiber detergents for cleaning them but then I settled on All Free and Clear (meant for sensitive skin) free of perfumes and clear of colors. It's easy to get and relatively inexpensive. Now, I also use antimicrobial microfiber bath towels (not from The Rag Company) and I use the All Free and Clear on them as well.
Great review. I've been using The Rag Company's microfiber towels going for 4 years.

Pan, excellent video. You have explained the differences in the different towels perfectly! Sometimes when looking at a website you can get overwhelmed with choices, thanks for explaining the nuisances of the different blends and numbers. I have some of their towels and I really like them. I am going to keep this video in mind the next time I order towels so I get the ones I need/want!

I love their microfiber products and wanted to share the different types of towels and when to use them so it becomes less mind boggling when buying some. :)

Pan, this is an excellent channel, for information on detailing. I am a DIYer, and have learned a lot from you so far. I found this channel while browsing other detailing channels.
I just purchased a 2019 Chevy Colorado, in black. I want to take excellent care of this paint job, I've had used vehicles in black in the past, and swirls are always common.
One hopefully simple question I have, in your washing process.
I plan to foam cannon, then hand wash with a microfiber mitt I have, then I plan on using a rag company's micro towel to dry. (I used to use Chamois cloths for drying) After drying, I plan to use the Turtle wax Ice to add protection. Which towel do you or would you use to apply the turtle wax product? If more than one towel, which towel will do which job? And as for a second question, as I've -never- seen this happen in any video... do you wring out the microtowel while drying, or is that a no-no?
Thanks so much, your videos are what helped me journey into using foam cannons and micro towels on this new paint job!

    • @PanTheOrganizer

Thanks for the positive feedback Warren. I'm glad that you appreciate all the efforts I put into making these videos. In just three years, my channel went to becoming one of the biggest detailing channels on RUclips as we're approaching 300,000 subscribers and 30 million views. :)
I would recommend the Eagle Edgeless 350 for the application of a spray wax: amzn.to/2F6XzXS
Just use a second dry one to buff off. This is the plushest and softest towel you'll ever use. And it's the perfect thickness (the previous 500 and 600 gsm versions were just a bit too thick).
For microfiber towels, I like the twisted loop versions like these: amzn.to/2WIstjX
Yes of course I wring the drying towels as I'm drying. A quick tip is to start by rinsing the towel and wringing it before starting to dry the car. It sounds counter-intuitive, but the towel will absorb more water when its damp.
How did you discover my channel by the way?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  4 года назад +1

cloth is recommended." What do you think?

Is it recommended to wash your towels after each use? Say I just waxed my car and used one of my premium towels to buff it. Should I wash it, even though its not completely soiled. Or should I store it until I wash the car again in 3-4 weeks?

I personnaly wash all my towels after each use as I don't take chances. If they aren't heavily soiled and you're not cross contaminating with other products it could be ok, but you'd have to make sure there are no hard residues on the towels that could scratch the paint.

Pan TheOrganizer Thanks Pan, your probably right, its best to just wash them.

Hi @PanTheOrganizer... Does this drying towels make such a difference versus meguiar's water magnet? These ones cost like triple, is the price difference worth it?

Anything that The Rag Company makes is worth the price in my opinion. These are top grade microfibers. Nothing cheap in their lineup, even in their less expensive towels.
My favourite drying towels that TRC makes is twisted loop drying towels like these: amzn.to/2Gb6tV1
Or a bigger one like this: amzn.to/2D67qfA

SIR Pan , how are ya? Wondering if you can help me with using the eagle edgless as a buffing towel.. Are your refering to dry buff or "slightly moist" towel.
Also do you recommend cleaning glass and black gloss panels with eagles?(dry or moist). Thanks in advance!

It depends what you’re buffing. You can use it to buff off a wax or I also like it with detail sprays or some silica spray sealants.

Pan TheOrganizer Thanks, Just what I was wondering. Because some plush towels leave streaks when buffing off wax and causes for too many passes.
Though, I’m still concerned whether I should use them on my piano black gloss panels surrounding my glass screen. I will give them a switch. Have a good one.

I was looking to try their ice grey pearl towels for ceramic coating application but they are 80/20 blend. They seem to have great reviews though. Would 70/30 be better, or is it mainly preference?

Their PEARL towels are actually my favourite for ceramic coating wiping/levelling (they weren't available at the time I filmed this video). These ones: amzn.to/3yTpPJK

@@PanTheOrganizer those are exactly what I have in my cart at the moment lol. I will order them then. Would you also say they are good for other exterior uses such as wiping compound/polishes and waxes/sealants?

For compounds and polishes removal, I prefer these: amzn.to/3yTpPJK
But it comes down to personal preference and what GSM, weave, thickness, etc you prefer for different tasks.

Hey pan! I work in a detail shop as a part time job and im starting a detail business with my dad who knows alot as well but my problem with my towels for drying the car and cleaning the windows is the LINT. I always manage to have LINT on the car when drying or cleaning the windows. I try many different towels and methods , i always have to go back and remove all of the lint with a specific towel at my job . Sometimes the lint 100% doesn’t come off. Which towel would be great for drying the car? And are the waffle window towels lint free?
