Yes, it snows so much the Parkway closes in the winter.
👍👍 That's the beauty of traveling in a Class-B / Van RVs. You get to drive and see all the beautiful nature along Blue Ridge Parkway, where Class-As and most Class-Cs can't, since they wont make the height clearance of the 26 tunnels.
Very beautiful thank you for sharing
Bravo.
Yet another wonderfully produced video by the happy wanderer. This gives you an idea of how vast the Appalachian Mountains are.
Come back through in June and all the Mountain Laurel will be blooming. Beautiful 🤩…
You passed Magie Vally, moonshine country Lol. Love your video !…
Nice work Russ!
I do thank you very much for letting me watch the video. Thank for your time. Really enjoyed the trip just lovely.
Thank you again, for another beautiful look along the Blue Ridge Parkway. And more of your superb filming.
I sure enjoyed going along for the ride! Safe &Happy Trails to you! Beautiful scenery, clear blue sky. THANKS.
That is one beautiful ride! Thanks for the adventure.
Thank's for the ride ! Enjoy it every time.
Been there many times and it never gets old. Beautiful
Beautiful scenery.
Bravo.
Sure found an eye opening road to enjoy! The colors are vivid, and vistas, endless. Guess it is fun for you to make memories, and all those tunnels, to show your Fans what the Bear saw when he went over the mountain! Great trip! Thanks, Russ!
It's funny I look at the desert and Mountain High Desert in aw the same way you look at all of the greenery here in the East where I live😃👍🤠🌴🇺🇸
Both are worthy of our awe, respect, and exploration.
Water Rock Knob is the best place on the Parkway to see the sunset. It is just spectacular. One of my "go to" places every time I'm up that way.
Very Beautiful thank you. Today is my Birthday. Thank you
Such a beautiful Road. Great video capture
Thanks Russ 🚐
I have fond memories from when I was a kid back in the 70s, we would explore and camp up and down the Appalachians. The Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive are two of the names that are forever in my memory. My poor mom was frequently spooked by my dad as he would stop at some of the look outs and pull right up to the edge. Since we were riding around in a VW van, the edge was far to close for her.
Lived Waynesville, NC area all fifty one years of my life. Thanks Russ for sharing.
RUSS Glad u r enjoying the parkway Judith an I road this road from Cherokee to the very end on our motorcycles can't beat the view an agin looking forward to seeing you in Quartzsite this fall be safe
Thank you for the ride and beautiful scenery!
I just arrived at Stoney fork campground 8 miles from Wytheville Va. Beautiful here.
Russ, you are blessed with the gift of perfect timing. You seem to be at the right place at the right time. Superb video, thanks for sharing and keep on trucking.
Hey Russ!!! "NICE VIEWS"!!! Be Safe!!!
Love the way you travel Russ. Stopping at a lot of scenic views and finding the hidden gems like small water falls ect. Thanks. The journey is the best part of travel. Not necessarily the destination. 👍👍🙏
WOW! That is a pretty drive! I could imagine it in the Fall when the colors are changing. Great job Russ!
Safe travels Man!
Another beautiful drive thru this area, thanks Russ.
Excellent Vid Russ. Take care.
nice road trip Russ sure hope fuel won't be a problem !!
Hello Russ😊😊, I have traveled extensively along the Blue Ridge Parkway and here are the must see's: Biltmore Estate, Linville Falls, Mt. Mitchell State Park( the highest elevation east of the Mississippi at over 7,000 feet!! ), Grandfather Mountain, The Blowing Rock, Blue Ridge Music Center, Mabry Mill. Hopefully the gas situation works itself out.
It's nice you're doing these 'cross-country' tours, Russ. Your 'competition' has basically exhausted the desert southwest. Living in AZ as I do, seeing all of that emerald greenery reminds me of life back in Michigan. Not that I'd ever consider moving back, I'm a true desert-rat now!
I wouldn't give up the Michigan beauty for anything .Lake Michigan rock's as well as the Mighty Mac !
Hello 👋Russ all vidios great ,this is a very special place .thanks 😀❤.
Your a TRUE Traveler !
Hey Russ! Back in my trucking days, before retiring after 38 years in 2015, there was a highway I traveled to the east from Paducah, Ky and it was like this one....just beautiful! I don’t know if it was the same road as in this video or not though. The name sure sounds the same however. Thanks for sharing and stay safe in your travels! God Bless! ~Jim~
I think your in moon shine county. I'll be expecting to see some of that at the market. Lol👍👽
What a great video!!!!!!
You pretty much just drove past us in Hendersonville, NC. Moved here from AZ and never looked back.
You picked good month to go, no traffic. Heard by July its bumper to bumper of cars. Great ride, tks
When you get to Virginia, you gotta check out Natural Bridge State Park. It's in the George Washington National Forest. Not too far from Shenandoah National Park. Nothing like it Russ.
Haven't ridden it a few years thanks for the memories!
Thanx Russ. There is no commercial traffic allowed on the Parkway. Why do we drive on a Parkway and park on a driveway??😂😂😂😂
It would be nice to backpack the Appalachian Trail through there.
Bravo.
It is👍
For senior people better drive through there, backpacking is for younger people I think.
Love your videos best on the RUclips I always enjoy watching your work thanks for the miles 😃🚐😁🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐 RV TV 😎👏👍
Still enjoying your videos, 50 mil past Asheville, NC, 1/4 mil. from Blue Ridge Pkw. , the only commercial exit is Little Switzerland with 2 restaurants and hotel several shops and much more.
Would love to travel that route but the tunnels won't let the 5th wheel through. Your travel let's me enjoy the journey though. I still don't know why the NPS doesn't hire you for your colorful commentary on what the parks have to offer. The melodic tunes are fitting to relax with on "our" journey. 😁
Bravo.
Never been there, thanks for the ride.
I was raised just off the Parkway more north of Asheville in Ashe Co!😀❤️🇺🇸🚙
Absolutely gorgeous scenery Russ. I bet when you get back to Arizona you will miss it. I hope you can get gas to get you out of North Carolina and into Virginia. From what I've heard the fuel shortage is primarily in the Southeast.
Would love to be doing the trip that you are now doing, always loved the south.
Should go on up to Gettysburg! Will be getting close.
The Plott Balsams, or Great Balsams, or just the Balsams is where she was born. Also, where I found her. She graduated from a tiny K-12, and her grandmother had taught in a one room school in those Balsams. That was back in the early 60s. She rests there where we courted. Water Rock Knob is where we courted. It is also where she declared, "You're mine." Water Rock Knob was not paved and had no "Visitor's Center"; it was a wide graveled area. We walked out into a meadow off to the left and a bit behind the peak. Not another soul around. Fond memories of a place and a wife. How wonderful she was.
Great weather Russ🌟
Since you are so close, come to Kentucky and follow the Bourbon Trail. Your viewers would enjoy it
Love it!👌🏻
Yayyy!!! I finally know how you get the footage 👍
This is when "A 1000 Miles From Nowhere" is more of now here! Gee, surrounded by nothing but beauty.
I’m not sure how far you got but somewhere up through there is a hotel with maybe a restaurant. It’s a beautiful drive
Come to Charleston, Sc Russ. You would love it!!
would love to meet you if you do
Russ Welcome to North Carolina home of Old Mountain Music 🎶…
Breathtaking! Hope u find some fuel.
Hey,Russ check out hot springs NC. Also transylvania cnty. Waterfalls.
There are hot tubs in hot springs on the french broad river
There is or use to be a restaurant at Mayberry mill va on the parkway
That scenery is beautiful but the people living around there get used to it. Just like you get used to the vistas in the Southwest. I have been to both areas and love them both for their unique qualities.
I want to have water hooked up a place i am staying at in greer. But l am still keeping my water on in Greenville. What will that cost me? Thanks
My Mitchell highest east of Mississippi. Mt Mitchell is east of Asheville….
Wish you could go to Mt. AIRY N C Birth place of Andy Griffith So pretty.
Bravo.
God Bless United States America - Russ - RVerTV Fans. Grand Video / Grand Views. Happy Trails - U.S.A. - Russ - RVerTV Fans / Watch RVerTV - Grand Journey Thru U.S.A. - Grand Videos - Grand Music. Thank you Russ.
👍👍😊
I was at the highest peak but can't remember the name,
I would prefer to go out of my way commuting to work and back home just to relax from the traffic lights and noise!
4k would be nice
Russ, Did you know that Clark Gable and Carol Lombard were married in Kingman Arizona? Is there anything there to signify the event?
First, woot!
:)
Just say’n…you’re more than likely missing out on some quaint historical towns just off the Blue Ridge Parkway on several of those exits. Did you research any of those as possible filming locations? 🎥
Hi I have a social path following me around on social media saying that they are me I'm sorry for the inconvenience but if you have any information I would appreciate you thank you
