Recorded in 1990 in Dayton, Ohio, this is one of the Kingsmen's most memorable albums, at least for me. Others include Live... Naturally, from 1981, which ended up being a 2-Record set, The Kingsmen-Live at the University of Alabama (1983), Mississippi Live (1987), Chattanooga Live (1977), and Big And Live (1973). These are only a few of the live albums that they've released in their 60+ years as a group. Love those Kingsmen!!!
I consider this to be the last of the great live albums recorded by the Kingsmen. Although they did release other live projects after this one that were certainly enjoyable, the live album chemistry seemed to be missing in those albums. No group performed better on a live recording than the Kingsmen!
1973-Big And Live. 1977-Chattanooga Live. 1981-Live-Naturally. 1983-Live At The University of Alabama. 1985-Better In Person. 1986-Live At Opryland USA. 1987-Mississippi Live. 1990-Live In Dayton. 1992-Singing In The Sun. These are the concerts that I remember, and have enjoyed. You're right, though-After that...mmm...not so much, especially when Anthony Burger was gone, Big Jim Hamill was gone, Garry Sheppard was gone, and Gary "Beaver" Dilliard was gone.
I was there. The spirit fell when they say The Judgement.
MY WIFE (marlene ferris) AND I (stu ferris) ATTENDED THIS LIVE RECORDING. A SPIRIT FILLED EVENING. VERY NEAT MEMORIES. DROVE 100+ MILES TO BE THERE.
Marlene Ferris
Enjoy these concerts so much. Thank you.
The best gospel album ever!
