Nothing like the acapella version of Roll Tide! I was there that night. I was only 11 then but I love quartet music now just as much as I did back then! God is Good!
Still anointed in 2022. Sitting out here on my porch swing listening to this, having a sure enough Holy Gho shouting spell! The presence of God is all over that album
According to Jim Hamill, at the end of this concert, he announces, among other things, that he'd like to thank, I believe, 15,000 people for making that evening a huge success! Yessir! I personally used to have a copy of this concert, and it's been one of my favorites over the years. Man! What a concert, and what a feeling, knowing that these guys were singing about the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lord's, Jesus Christ himself!!! You can DEFINITELY feel the Anointing on this album, and if somebody can listen to this, and not feel something a'stirrin' on the inside, and it don't light your fire, your wood's wet!!! I'll always love this kind of music, because it uplifts our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!!!!!
Thank you, thank you for publishing this! It is absolutely amazing! The talent is tremendous. You can actually hear God working his magic through these songs and singers! God bless!
I love these guys, it's was one of the only groups I could sing along with. Never found another with a bad singer in my range. This generation doesn't know harmony
Other than possibly The New Inspirations, and maybe The King's Heralds, and, yes, Gold City, I'd have to pretty much agree with you. A lot of the old-timey groups, that I used to listen to, are gone...and what's even worse, is that a bunch of these newer groups are into those "7-11" songs.....7 words in the song, and 11 times repeating the Chorus. To me, that ain't nothin' but a bunch of that new-age junk...and at least some of these groups are all tangled up with the Ecumenical Movement, which ain't nothin', but a bunch of this ol' feel-good, positive confession, prosperity gospel, Word Of Faith TRASH!!!!! I used to be in the Pentecostal Movement, and was, off-and-on, with the United Pentecostal Movement! However:I saw so much false goings-on in that movement, that I left! Right now, my Apartment is my Church. I'll just read the Bible, pray, sing and shout, and worship Almighty God there! I don't trust "Organized Religious Denominations" anymore, and here's the reason why. They all seem to have, within their Doctrinal Beliefs, something that is absolutely deceptive. If you want, I'll tell you about at least some of the Aberrations, that have crept into many different "Religious Denominations". There'd be a lot to learn...if you're interested. If not, I'll go no further. Have a great day!
When I sang with The Soundsmen Quartet, we sang in concert with them and they are the greatest group of men I know...they sing for the Glory of God...so happy to have known them...such a blessing :)
dakota this is what the college's need to bring back. Unfortunately they've taken God out of schools, the courts and even in some homes. Until this country goes back to her roots, we are on a downhill slide.
Anthony, Jim,Ernie & Eldridge Fox were close personal friends since I was 9 years old. And to be around them all was the hilight of My life! Anthony taught me a lot on the piano. I'm now 44 !
Great memories. Always loved the Kingsmen and saw them as often as possible. I listened to this recording on cassette so much that I could hear both sides at once!
I was also there, to me,one of the best groups ever .I was a little kid then.still love to listen to them.this was the only concert I ever went to as a child.like good holiness preaching, you do not get to listen to the good stuff anymore. to the really good days.
Good night! Just listen to I’m Bound...That song will smoke 99% of southern gospel songs released today. I sure do miss the days of live recordings with live bands!
Angels camping all around me. I can feel the breeze from home. They are telling me get ready for the journey won't be long to and weary from the battle, hope grows stronger day by day. And when this short life here is over. I will hear the master say. WELCOME HOME MY FAITHFUL SERVANT, he will say to me that day. Enter into joy that's waiting just inside those pearly gates.

I love this. These voices were frequent guests in our home. This brings back some happy memories for me. It gets no better than this.
My Dad Butch Campbell with Tuscaloosa Fire Dept headed these singings up here in Tuscaloosa. The Kingsmen were like family. I was blessed to be there

Child Child was the first song I ever sang in public before going into the ministry. Hearing it on here brought back so many happy memories !

Awesome comment. The sound reflects that. Seeing it had to be unreal. The goosebumps just from this, whoooiee!
