This is cool. Think it’s really smart to start adding backstory on yourself so openly and publicly/relatable. To the video such a meteoric rise. Adding more history and narrative is important.

what jake was saying about feeling almost disconnected is really interesting but i definitely understand. i went to an event yesterday and i haven’t been competing for a good while so my expectations were low but because of that my sort of physical and emotional tension was also very low. i probably played some of the best melee/pm id played then because of the looseness i was feeling. in prior sets where i was “loose” ive played better as well - not to condone substance use but being halfway through a drink or something keeps me detached enough to help stay flowing in the game. taking games from the highest ranked players in my state have come at times where im able to be focused but not tense at all. maybe it’s a sheik thing!
First off all, yes, more of this. Second, one of the things I realized looking at that old dorm of PewPewU, with the Gorillaz and Yellow Submarine decor- more melee players (to say nothing of gamers in general) need to show at least a little of their passions and interests outside of gaming! I swear, so many players, who I'm sure are charming in many ways, look like they are in some kind of gaming prison. Melee is always more interesting when you have the sense of different kinds of people coming together. PewpewU and Jmook of course are both men of culture and I look forward to them bringing something to the table

Him and sfat at doubles were peak melee and people nowadays dont talk about those epic grands they had with armada and his bruder.
Me and PPU had the exact same Mount Rushmore, it feels like those are definitely the people with the biggest contributions to Melee as a whole over it's lifespan
Waff, Mang, !!GIMR!! and Samox. GIMR putting in the miles and work to bring classic tournaments and so many epic moments to people’s eyes definitely gets overlooked.

King of Smash babyyy 👑 And BOBBY SCAR. Greatest commentator of all time right next to Waffles, Toph, D1, Prog, so many to name. Extremely instrumental in the development of the scene. Great at serializing the storylines of the competition like it's WWE. And 3 words : He Killed Mufasa
this might be controversial but i feel like we might be sleeping on hbox for mt. rushmore. HEAR ME OUT. i hated hbox for a long time. but if we're not putting a dedicated TO on there, hbox + waff as dual-ability something/TOs just makes more sense. and don't talk to me about mango juice like it was coinbox. hbox was also #1, he continuously feeds into the scene, and while he was never the culture leader that mango was i think he checks all the same boxes (to a lesser extent, including longevity) with extra TO prowess.
I've always said it, Hbox makes every top 8 better. He's the player you hate seeing beat your favorite player. Not an outright villain but an antagonist
It’s tough having only 4 spots. I wouldn’t mind m2k, but we have to give mango the credit for still being relevant to this day and being the sole reason why a lot of ppl even watch melee. The viewership drops HARD when mango loses. Thats saying something.
