This is one of my favorite George Harrison songs. It's hard to believe he was very sick when this was recorded. His voice is so sweet and beautiful, he was my favorite Beatle. I saw him in '74 in Chicago, his voice was a little hoarse, but I didn't care, the concert was great. My two favorite Beatles are gone now, and I miss them so much. George and John live on with their music, and in my heart, they give me such happiness when I listen to their music. Thank you boys, I will never forget you. Love and Peace, forever.
one year back in the late 70's George was voted by RollingStone mag as the best slide gituarist! This proves it! I can't understand why some people can't understand the words to this song. If you listen to George enough you get his accent! lol Also he is definetly talking about Lord Krishna! If you knew George's history you would know this. I miss you and always will. Isn't it a Pity.
I think it just shows how truly musician George was- writing music his whole life from childhood and through the time he was dying. You can't find a more spiritual honest musician than George. I'm sure he's rocking Heaven with the God he praised so much. RIP
This is one of the saddest songs I know and surely it's a goodbye song and you can hear his guitar cry too but at the same time it's very beautiful, like george.
My favorite of George's songs. 1. Stuck Inside a Cloud 2. Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let it Roll) 3. Run of the Mill 4. My Sweet Lord 5. Wah-Wah 6. I Live For You 7. This Guitar (Can't Keep From Crying) - Platinum Weird Version 8. All Things Must Pass 9. Your Love is Forever 10. Dark Sweet Lady
Great lyrics. People are so lame not to appreciate this song. Not those here listening to it of course but this song should’ve had sales in the millions.
'When the power of love overcomes the love of power, only then will the world know peace' - Jimi Hendrix. Well; George did his bit to promote love. God bless you George.
George Harrison is totally underrated.? He is one of the most famous musicians in history , underrated?? by who. I think most people who willl give the time to listen to georges music would be impressed, still sounds great and it will always sound great because it is great timless music. George is for real a real Artist/
it's quite a fortunate thing that Lord Harrison left us with a posthumous album that's filled with quite a number of solid tracks including this one along "Looking For My Life", "Run So Far", "Any Road", "Never Get Over You", "Pisces Fish", and the title track BRAINWASHED -- indeed being one of his best albums, God rest his soul.
His guitar just brings tears to my eyes. Hard to believe he was pretty much on his dying bed when he made this. It's one of the saddest songs you can come up with. It even sounds kinda poppy and upbeat but if you hear what he's saying and when the guitar hits its just an absolute downer of a song. One of his best songs no doubt.
its amazing, this is the man who sang about how he cant wait to be with his "sweet lord" and how "all things must pass", yet when his time came even he was terrified. George's music is so personal. not many people can write like him. beautiful song. RIP George x
"all that matters to me is to touch your lotus feet"... singing this whole song, the key and melody, the very vibration of it coming out of my throat is so incredibly soothing, like a warm bath.
+Jouko Salo Sorry, but unless he was a psychic it cannot be. It was recorded end of 80s-beginning of '90. I know for sure, because one of his collaborators reported having begged him time and time again to issue it!
This is a beautiful song. No matter, if you are famous, rich or a Beatle. When the time for dying comes,it is scary. George believed in God but still was scared and he says so in this song. Death is passing to the unknown and i don't care what anybody says dying is scary, if we believe in God or not because we are all scared of the transtion from body to soul. Are we pure enough? are we worth eternity?, how does it feel? George really reflects this in this great song. We love you Georege
this is my fav song from brainwashed, my dad died the following year from alzhimers. each time i hear this song i think of him loosing his memory and being stuck inside a cloud thank you george i will always miss the both of you
@marycreeves that's cool that George was finally voted best at something- hes always on the list of top guitarists in general but random other people always beat him at being in the top few. I also cant believe people dont get his accent- I love his accent its so unique.
jesus man, this is unbelievable! absolutely love this, sorts your head right out, like watching the wheels go round by lennon, its class! love the way harrison sings too, soft, calm talking voice! a beaut!
PILES.. yes, I would have to agree w/ you.. I think this tune clearly shows what a great slide player George was. . I would also say he was certainly underrated as a Slide Guitarist. Wonderful Singer, too!
I love that even at the end of his life, he was thinking about Krsna, "the only thing that matters to me is to touch your lotus feet" this song makes me cry, cause we can see exactly what he went through. Hare Krnsa
Dura canción para un hombre que sabía que dejaba este mundo material pero sobretodo a Dahni y Olivia, para mi es dificil escucharla, solo le agradezco a George su legado musical y espiritual. Hare Krishna
Ody Slim No, they haven't. George is one of the most celebrated musicians, songwriters, and guitarists in the history of mankind. This is an objective truth. Gazillions of records sold. Thousands of magazine articles and cover stories. Books. A Martin Scorcese documentary. Lifetime tribute awards. . .
Very very George Harrison. Beautiful, sad, soulful. Hard to describe my emotions. How did he and his 3 mates have the ability to reach into our(my) souls. A remarkable ability. He is awaiting on us all.
Our sweet George,l'angelo misterioso, the mystic one,was struggling with physical pain because of his illness, song is about this.. His voice is so sweet..he was ready for everything..even to leave this world..master already of the art of dying... A legendary musician..a great man!
You sure, burner420 ?? Following from the Internet: Brainwashed is the final studio album by George Harrison. The album was released in 2002, almost a year after Harrison's death at the age of 58.
i have loved playing guitar for well over 40 years now, having first picked it up as a child after seeing you on TV, it has given me immense pleasure THANK YOU George.
burner, I got two things to say: first, I am a Budweiser drinker too and second, it's all good, man..........you're here and that's all that matters. haunting song. period.
Ayer hoy y siempre y por la eternidad el mejor de Los Beatles........que musica, que guitarra, que voz, que letra..........en fin todo, todo, que Diosito lo tenga en su gloria. Gracias George.

@thegrinchl7 George's style is all his own, I personally love his voice well beyond the other Beatles. The softness is nirvana to the ears, poetic, and beyond inspirational.

I find it incredible that someone could write about his impending death, and could do it so honestly and modestly. I love The Beatles, and I love George's honesty and efforts to detach himself from living in the material world. Also, playing guitar, I value George's work (Beatles and solo) more than that of any other guitarist for the melody, economy and beauty of it. I am also incredibly grateful to George for introducing me to Hindustani (North Indian) Classical Music, which has changed my life. Show less REPLY
Hard to hear only once. Divine Inspiration... Talking to Myself, the unique way to melt ourselves into the Universe we're sunk... stuck in cloud nine... Guitar Solo... My God!!!
Beautiful slide guitar and George's voice is lovely. Although it is a bit less of a full vocal than some other tracks, it still sounds very good considering he was ill at the time. The song is incredibly heartfelt and demonstrates George's knack for finding a darn good melody.
The man knows he's dying and composes this. I hope I have 1/2 the courage of this man when my time is up.
Eric Clapton can make a guitar gently weep but George can bring tears to my eyes with the tones in his voice.

The best song ever written about cancer. So true, sadly.
George will never be forgotten
I like every song George sings
Great lyrics. People are so lame not to appreciate this song. Not those here listening to it of course but this song should’ve had sales in the millions.

Whatever you are George Harrirson you're a nice cloud following the good and helping us out of the evils.
Solo guitar is just amazing !

Isn't this a love song? Either way, beautifully touching lyrics. So truthful.
George wrote and recorded this song while he was in his death bed. Amazing song!
Adam Holt. No he wasn't terrified. Check your facts before you post. Don't make up things, bad enough social media is sometimes misleading.
@@Onehappyworlds it would be understandable if he was,but Olivia said he wasn’t afraid.

this song is soo sad- its about George's experience with cancer- only George could describe earthly things so well, but its also heartbreaking
this song always makes me want to cry, no matter where I am, if it comes on my mp3 player, I get choked up
"all that matters to me is to touch your lotus feet"... singing this whole song, the key and melody, the very vibration of it coming out of my throat is so incredibly soothing, like a warm bath.
I thought it was only thing that matters to me is that you know this fear.
I think this is one of the best guitar solos I've ever heard. The technique is impeccable.
This is probably the most honest song ever written about cancer, chemotherapy and the devastating toll on a human being.

For myself & for anyone ill with cancer this song has so much depth meaning George may u rest in peace

+Yzacata Very well, then Jim Keltner talks rubbish when he says that they recorded this song in the early '90s, polished and all. :)

The ever present haunting slide guitar of George. The best ever!

SO SAD AND YET SO BEAUTIFUL.
Alot of Georges songs had that eerily haunting sound - I Live For You - Beware of Darkness, Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp
Beautiful. And heartbreaking.
i have loved playing guitar for well over 40 years now, having first picked it up as a child after seeing you on TV, it has given me immense pleasure THANK YOU George.

That feeling of "Good Lord, Hare Krishna! One of 'em has gone and made yet ANOTHER achingly beautiful song..."

It was recorded very early on, beginning of the '90. Only George wouldn't release it for some reasons...
