    I will never not be impressed by Natalie's "Jacelyn did you vote for who I told u to vote for" move. It's just so good. And yeah I totally thought Jeremy was gonna win after the Josh vote out, but I LOVE that it set up a truly amazing Survivor revenge story! Nat did indeed ball out

      Personally I saw it as beggy and patronising. The jury would have figured it out there was no need for the overbearing comment. Wasn't surprised when stories came out after winners at war that Natalie bullied people on the edge of extinction.
      Edit: the actual move yes I agree just the manner in which it was done was too much for me personally.

    The edit for San Juan del Sur was brilliant and makes up for the Meh Premerge. Having the top two contenders go back to back at the beginning of the merge made SJDS have one of the best postmerges of all time. Jeremy’s blindside literally made me drop my jaw.

      Chris came back like this sage that knew everything and everyone fell for his traps. It's sort of like Michele's jury vote off. It seems like an unfair advantage if you play it perfectly. Chris was using info that Kelley told him when she was voted out to his advantage when he got back in. Not a lot of people would think to do that.

    • @MaximilliansHammer
      @MaximilliansHammer 3 месяца назад

      @@breathingbear I think in WaW, it was a key difference that the cast was made up of 20 past winners who had a much deeper understanding of how the game 'should' work. While I do hold to the philosophy that it's impossible for a jury to pick a 'wrong' winner, you could expect a jury of past Champions to chose a winner more in line with what a lot of fans consider the 'spirit of the game'. Tony played Survivor on 'Difficult Mode' for 39 days, while Natalie was playing 'mini-Survivor' for a big chunk of the time, and I think that jury of Champions knew that.

    I just rewatched EOE, and the lengths the editors went to making Chris invisible until his return is staggering. So many other Edge players got more confessionals, personal stories, etc. There were zero breadcrumbs Chris was the returnee, no matter what way you want to dissect. Imagine if they had made us fall in love with Chris on Edge, so we could at least root (or SOMETHING) for him when he got back. IMO, it was a total failure in storytelling editing when they could've leaned into and made it exciting.

    Hey, Peridiam, got a question for you. In one of the relatively early seasons, I want to say around Guatemala, but I don't think it was that season, a young man who was an early "superfan" of the show got voted out, and actually got excited, and said something like, "Yes! Blindside! Now that's the way to get voted off!" Do you remember who/when that was? (I was thinking it was Brian in Guatemala, but I watched a video of him being voted off, and he didn't say it.)

I was not expecting that at all and I was so excited that he was able to pull of a risky move successfully but I didn't think he was going to win at that point. Part of me felt like the jury was going to vote for Gavin considering that he has played for the whole 39 days while Chris did not, even though he played imo a much better game than Gavin and Julie did. The ending of Kaoh Rong was one for me. Not so much Michele winning (kind of had a feeling that was going to happen), but the manner of it. based on numbers, I was certain it was going to be a final two, Aubry would lose immunity at final three and get voted out. Plus, based on the edit, it seemed like there was no way for Aubry to lose if she was in the finals. She had a number of allies on there who still liked her, and even her enemies were complimenting her right before they got voted out. Didn't expect her to lose a final vote to anyone, let alone Michele. No disrespect to Michele, though. She played a great game. I just prefer Aubry, and I feel like the edit supported my biases.
