Very helpful. I'm lvl 40 now and I'm enjoying the Squad Leader class the most. I learn every match something new. Like Yesterday. I decided to be a defending Squad. At first we did well and I placed garrisons with supplies of my support and the Commander. We build some barricades together. But Our Team was not good in attack. So my fault was that I only placed garrisons in one sector. And then we got overrun and there were no garrys at the Last sector. So what I've learned is to be more productive. Or I should have say to the commander to put some Garry's done in our last sector.
Good tips and tricks! Another way to build a red zone garrison quickly is to rotate roles by telling your support guy to drop 50 supplies, then he should redeploy as a different role and somebody else changes to support and drops the second 50 supplies to have the 100.
Everyone dogs on the medic role but how great is it when you see that green name and the distance decreasing. I ALWAYS thank the medic when they revive me, so maybe they are not the most important role but I feel like they add a lot to the game.
Defending don’t mean you have to stay at hq and not move.u can cover your attack force and hold the front line so defending is as fun as you make it!!! I’m new to this type of shooter on ps5 and I’m loving it!! Thanks to guys like yourself posting these videos it helps big time!!!

I only have 40 hours in the game, but I've found myself reluctantly taking on the role to an increasing degree due to no one else wanting to do it - the number of people sat without a squad in the match buildup is a shame. But it's not really a huge surprise, seeing how tricky it can be as a role. Be nice to squad leaders. Don't just assume they're doing it because they want to - they may just be doing it so other players have some kind of guidance, which is really important in this game. This is a great guide. If/when I find myself squad leading again I'm definitely going to try to make use of directing the support class with the map to leave supplies around the map so we can build up garrisons 👍
SL is not an easy role indeed. I almost play it exclusively as so many people are reluctant to play it, but it can be incredibly rewarding. It gets easier as time goes on. Same for the Commander role.
if u start playing sl exclusively u will find it very natural and easy after 10-20 career levels. i started off reluctant as well, now i will not play anything besides sl because i feel like i have maximum impact on the game. my w/r has gone up significantly too.
I’m finding the same thing. I took officer on my third match just to get more people into the game - otherwise they just sit there. Thankfully there are some people willing to help and advise. I just ask them to give me their reasoning for why I shouldn’t have done something. If it’s in officer comms you can then get a consensus. if someone is having a go at me or telling you that I’m wrong, it’s nice to have the commander to back you up 😄 The comms bit was so true about people’s situation. I had a great person back me up and give supplies, come back as an engineer. They set me up with a full defended location with resource nodes. But they never spoke a word.
For me if I know a squadmate is listening but clearly can't communicate. I am still happy. As long as they participate. Usually you can tell as they will run with you and do what you ask when needed eg AT player targeting tank or engineer building fortifications
Now this video is the only one on this game that don't blast people for not being able to communicate with teammates or perhaps not knowing everything about the game in the 1st few days of playing this amazing game. Thank you for the great video friend 🙂
Yeah he raised a good point about people having different situations and not being able to use a mic. It's very frustrating having non communicative squad members though as it hampers your ability to run an effective squad. Maybe better to mark your squad as mic preferred and explain the situation to the non mic player, ask them to leave, if they don't then kick them so they can find a squad that doesn't care about mics?
really good video, if i'd add anything i would say sl's should be establishing the front line for their squad so that everyone is aware of where the fight is and that pushing up past that point is high risk

Iv literally only started playing he’ll let loose like a couple days ago but iv already decided I’m nearly always gunna be a squad leader cos if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself lmao. To many SLs not making garrisons or OPs it blows my mind
Squad lead isn’t that hard. It’s pretty chill all you gotta do is find good flanks and put op down for squad then garrisons for the team for good flanking positions If on defense then you can still find flanks and put op down or just defend and put op down around the defending point.
I have exactly the same situation although I do really like playing SL. Currently discussing with my friends if some others want to learn the role. The other way I could play other roles was just switching squads until I found a talking one.
As a leader don't be bossy you won't get anywhere! Ask if they can join you or if someone can help.. let them make the choice if they want to be part of winning a objective. I play leader cause it lets me know what's goin on in the big picture. 💪💯 If you don't wanna chat don't play key soldiers that we need to get things done. play soldiers that dont have much responsibilities.

Another great one. I've been getting out of my comfort zone and playing as an officer and I have a good time. Same with Commander.

Medic class needs a buff!! I love playing medic but it really is near useless if you don’t have any decent spawn points
The only buff I can think of is more smokes. Not too mention the US side has like zero ammo. I'd like to see another buff as well.

Squad lead isn’t that hard. It’s pretty chill all you gotta do is find good flanks and put op down for squad then garrisons for the team for good flanking positions
If on defense then you can still find flanks and put op down or just defend and put op down around the defending point.
The only annoying thing when no one goes support or engineer so thank god for the supply truck
