Thank you, Julie. Great questions as you pass through this castle's long history. Especially enjoyed your last question to the ten-year gardener's favorite project. The gift shop! Now you might have a good item to create for your online store: tea towels with your family's coat of arms, schematic designs, and whatever you and Luke deem of pride. See you again.
Viscountess another intriguing look into the Duke of Argyle and the history behind the family. Such a fascinating place and the historical details that have been kept on the construction of this Castle. Thank you for such a wonderful episode, God Bless.
Love your outfit for this, you looked fabulous!! Beautiful castle with incredibly gorgeous ceilings and decor in a perfect setting. Very interesting history, and obviously worthy of a long visit. Thanks for this Julie. Looking forwaed to part 2.
wonderful castle, wonderful garden and surroundings, and historic details, great duke and duchess and noble viscountess Julie blends in perfectly with tartan scarf - thank you 🏰
This was so great to hear about the castle and its history; being a Campbell, by ancestry, I have been wearing the tartan kilt and I hope to visit someday. I am checking ou the store and may buy something to help support the clan.
My husband and I visited there in September 2023 while on our 50th anniversary trip. Thank you for another lovely and very informative tour that brought back wonderful memories. ❤
You do such a great job on these visits, you have so much energy and enthusiasm. You ask great questions, and allow the home owner's to tell us their history, and other tidbits. Honestly, i don't believe a native born person of Great Britain could do as good of a job doing these tour's and interviews, because they have grown up around all this history. You are like a kid on Christmas morning, you always seem so happy to be doing this, and your passion shines through like light shining through a beautiful historic stained glass window. I love the 57 Corvette, it's perfect for the into, and it's a classic American sport's car built by the hands of hard working American's, not the mass produced product's made today with automation. I always look forward to a new upload, and have been waiting for content on the two new channel's. I see how busy you and Luke are, so I'm not pressing you. G-d bless from a lady in Michigan.
Hi Julie, so rich in history. I cannot get enough of these outstanding videos. I simply love it. If walls could talk. The energy must be intense. I'm so intrigued with this time and place. Makes me wonder. In awe! Thank you. Amazing work.
The tapestries are so beautiful, i hope to see the Mapperton tapestries win the next project fund, because the historical value should be preserved, and bringing in storks can be done anytime, plus the tapestries will give visitor's something new to see, and even bring people just to see them. Hopefully Luke will see this, and appreciate the need to restore them, and see the history value in getting them restored. G-d bless.
The formal dining room looks like the coronation invitation. I wonder…but anyway, beautiful. 😍 Good to see my family is still doing well over there. ;)
My mother's ancestry goes all the way to the druids. The druids kept very metuclas records there was records from druids and others who think they are farther back. There has been records from over thousand years now even dating back to the 2-4 century before Christ. The clan of my mother was very powerful clan.Very well known still thru Ireland and Scotland. Once 2 princes and king. Related to very well known conquer. Evan viking heritage on Dad's side and moms.Clan Campbell has beautiful home .Nice rich heritage to share. Always wondered about that armory room after Downtown Abby. It so nice to see all beautiful homes and heritage. Thank You .
So is Mapperton and these other houses part of the National Trust? I've been to a lot of properties that were and at one time I was a member. I've never heard you mention the National Trust. Can you tell us about it? Thanks Julie. I really enjoy your vlogs.
we are not. National Trust homes are not lived in - therefore, the living history stopped once the last custodian was gone. We are all a part of www.historichouses.org and if you use my code AVTV05 you get £5 off your membership. It's pretty cool!
Please help Hogwood XIV Channel. He’s an American descendant with the surrounding community offering their help in restoring his ancestral home. The community board owned it and let it go into complete disrepair. Now that all this work has been done, the community board is trying to steal the house back, under false charges. !! Please please please help this wonderful creative person.
Why can’t anyone in this video pronounce Inveraray? Wrong throughout. It’s, "in" + "vuh" + "rair" + "ee”. Maybe because nobody with a Scottish accent appears in a film about a Scottish castle.
In true aristocratic fashion there is not a Scotch accent in sight. Btw, before anyone tries to be clever, Scotch is wholly correct. The use in this context predates the alcohol by about 300 years.

ohhh the Gothic Revival neo gothic styleless pudding of building mediaval towers without history just for the look, which at last it missed! amazing
Mi casa, que hermosa es.
I once saw the ‘notorious’ Duchess of Argyll while driving down Park Lane …..she was leaving the Dorchester. This was the early 80’s.
I love these videos!

I’m from the Clan Ranald, MacDonald and this was difficult to watch, but I did nonetheless….

DUNEAGLE!!!!!!!!
Not a very Scottish accent. Were they even born in Scotland. It grinds to hear their English accents. So false.
