You guys know I love all things BEIS. You have seen my luggage review. I recommend it to everybody. However, sometimes people can't swing the price tag, even though it is more affordable than other brands. So I went searching for a good dupe, and I found one. A Beis mini weekender dupe from amazon... HALF the price! Affordable luggage means more money for flights! These weekender bags are perfect as personal items on every US domestic airline I have tested.
Does it look exactly the same? No. Does it have similar features? Yes. Do I consider it a good Beis dupe? Yes.
It also compares to the Beis mini convertible weekender, except the bottom compartment does not detach.

If I travel with a carry on I use the weekender bag, if I travel with a Checked bag I prefer a backpack.
You can cut cardboard to fit the bottom of the Compton bag for structure
So glad I found this video & your testing bags at the airport videos! This has eased my anxiety more than I can say. I've been so stressed about taking my first international flight carry-on only in basic economy with United and the personal item restriction is so much smaller than other airlines! But this helped SO MUCH. I can't justify the Beis spend (until I'm sure I'll be really traveling more!) but this dupe I'm 100% behind trying! I love the shoe compartment being separate and being able to swing an extra pair of shoes for my trip! Packing carry-on as an overpacker is HARD, LOL!. Subbed & about to binge watch everything travel on your channel, love! And I will absolutely keep following for more tips, keep 'em coming. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

I looove my convertible weekender. I love how the bottom detaches and is still structured. I traveled to my hometown bc my mom has surgery. I was staying in a hotel with my dad and we were sharing a bathroom. I loved how i could leave the packing cube part in my room and carry toiletries etc. in the top. I also ended up staying in the hospital with my mom one night and I was able to bring everything I needed in the top of the bag and leave the bottom in the room. I’m intrigued by the dupe, but 2 things - 1) what I love about the beis bag is the structured sides on the bottom and the bottom of the dupe collapses, 2) the zip-off function is way more useful than I ever would have thought. My con for the weekender is that is is suuuper heavy with a laptop in it. Maybe I should just buy silk and merino travel clothes??? 🤣
I love the zip off feature, too! It’s just so darn hard to get on and off! I probably just haven’t used it enough yet! ;)

All of my friends have stated to me that although the weekender bag is expensive. but the people love that it has a separate compartment for the laptop, and they love the brand. Perhaps in the near future I will save for a weekender bag.
Laptop sleeves are definitely nice if you need it, but it could also be put down below!

I just got the Beis carryon in Maple and was disappointed that the weekender or mini weekender weren't available in the same color. Your amazon dupe has a couple of versions with faux leather trim that coordinate with my maple carryon. (I'm on the fence about the Air Collection that Beis has to match the Maple suitcases.) And the amazon one was a Black Friday deal. So thanks for the review! I know the amazon dupe isn't going to be of the same quality, but it will do for now.
To be honest, I prefer the dupe. It fits a lot more and is lighter weight when packed. I do have the Air cargo backpack in maple, if you want to check out that review! BEIS AIR: expandable pouch and cargo backpack

Interesting, I've been eyeing the Beis Mini-Weekender but like that the Amazon one also has the trolley sleeve. I'm also looking at the Beis Sport Duffel since it's a tad smaller and I'm a smaller woman. Still trying to figure out which one I want.
I think the con of the Beis is the structure of the bag, whereas the Beis duffel or the bag from Amazon are looser. The Beis duffel can double as a backpack, which is cool!

I ordered a BEIS mini weekender off a third party site given my location. I was so disappointed to learn that it was a regular mini weekender - not convertible. I didn’t know they existed! :(
I would totally trade you ;) I’d much rather have the bottom stay on! The convertible is pretty hard to zip on and off
I want the mini weekender and the Béis the backpack. I got the same club dupe which is pretty good for the larger option. I bought the Béis backpack and returned it because I saw so many reviews of the zipper breaking. Did you notice a zipper difference in quality in the beige one Vs the black one that broke of yours? The zipper broke on my regular BÉIS backpack but the expandable has been Great.

what do you think about the difference in handles? ~ 1. Comfortability on top of the shoulder and 2. The amount of hang it has, can you easily fit it over your shoulder? and maybe the softness of the handle material! tysm! xx
The Beis has a longer drop of the handle for sure, but it’s more awkward with the hard doctor bag opening. The dupe is softer, more duffel style. There is actually a new insanely amazing beis weekender dupe at Sam’s club now- check it out, it’s so similar!

I'm actually new to your channel and a couple of weeks ago after binging a few of your videos I obviously noticed that you are a fan of Beis and was hesitant as in a comment thread discussing the weekender I did give my input on a clone that I had from Amazon that only cost $21.99.
I didn't want to go further than that because I thought your romance was Beis would be too strong but I see that you're open to inexpensive clones too..! The one I got is not like yours, some people may like vegan leather trim and the metal grommets etc I actually prefer as little metal as possible when I travel.. I wanted the personal items size so the one I chose was even *25%* the price of the Beis. I actually think the Beis is priced incredibly well, but as someone who's worked in tourism marketing and marketing in general I just don't like hype. _(I'm someone who prefers an Aldi Awesome pan to the overly hyped everyday pan)_
When I saw the cons of the bag I thought I would see if the clones had the same issues and they do for example the slouching bottom / shoe compartment. But when packed out they both look fine. I love the tapered satchel top, it's slides under my arm when I need it to and if I'm wearing it crossbody I don't get it caught on too many things.. I love the bottom compartment. Not only do I put in shoes but anything I think that might leak like snacks or even a sweaty water bottle.
Side by side the Beis is nicer, obviously. I had seen it in Nordstrom so I'm aware that the components and the materials were well chosen. But as a consummate traveler I have quite the collection of luggage and carry-ons and I was just looking for an inexpensive puddle-hopping personal item.. I turn to amazon, the king of importing clones from countries that do not have copyright laws and _VIOLA!_ clones have their place too!

@@ItsTheKellys right!? It stores flatter, is of the same materials and wipes clean, and as you pointed out, it is lighter in weight! (We purchased different brands of the copies but they're all just slightly different, using different materials Etc). *More money to travel!* 💃🏽✈

How did the Amazon dupe fit under the seat? Could it be considered a personal item? Traveling to Egypt for 2 weeks on Air France & trying to avoid checking a bag lol
I haven’t flown with it, although it is very squishable if not packed full, unlike the Beis. Depends on the airline requirements :)

Does the bottom zip all the way off?
Not on the dupe, which is nice. The bottom that zips all the way off on the convertible weekender is actually difficult to get back on, and I dislike it, personally.

I had a bad that didn’t fit the little box but it did go under seat. Can you do your beis on your next flight to see if it can go under seat
