Hi Will, I love how informative you're videos are, thank you. For future videos could slow the pace a little and perhaps provide some yaml examples (when appropriate) as that would be really helpful to those of us who are still new to Home Assistant.
Thanks for the feedback Rob! I had forgotten to upload it, but here is a link to the yaml and json for the scenes I created: github.com/willbob8/willsurridgetech/tree/master/Scenes Hope this helps
Yes, I'm working on it now - but I'm trying to re-flash a neos camera which is proving more difficult than I hoped! I managed to do it at the end of last year after about 2 weeks of trying and a lot of crossed fingers, but can't remember how! As soon as I've managed it, there will be a video about it!
I successfully managed to flash a Yi 1080p camera, but I'm having real trouble getting it working as I'd like with Home Assistant, so I know what you mean. How have you found the Neos cameras? I've been looking at the Wyze product line with envy for a while, frustrated that we're unable to get them officially in the UK.
The cameras themselves aren't bad, I mean they're not the best by far, but as a basic camera they are fine! It's just this flashing process which is infuriating!
If you are targeting beginners also please explain what nodes, input buleans are and what they do. Can be distracting if a beginner follows this (me for example) and they have to work with stuff they don't know what's it for or what it does :)
Of course, sorry - there are some great node red beginners videos out there which I suggest you watch to get a basic understanding of the terms (ruclips.net/video/SuoSXVqjyfc/видео.html) As for input booleans, it's just a toggle switch! There are a selection of different inputs which you can create to trigger things - www.home-assistant.io/integrations/#automation
@@WillSurridgeTech I totally understand but just as positive feedback: if you want to have beginners follow your video perhaps include that :) anyways I'm already a subscriber and hope your channel grows, as you deserve it!
@@WillSurridgeTech Also, following this Video - you created input boolean with an off state - then - you used it's state as a trigger for automation, however, how it is connected to the scene? For example I have a Dinner Scene, and this scene has one entity's state set to ON. Then I create an input boolean that I want to use as a trigger for automation, however, I want this input boolean to be set to on, only when the scene is set to on. Where is the connection with your scenes and input booleans? Cannot fugure that out. Thanks.
@@crazydwarfer hi, so I have an input Boolean which is called ‘Dinner Scene’ - when I turn that Boolean on, it triggers the flow and therefore the scene. I then have it automatically turning off after a while so I can trigger it again For some of my scenes I turn it off immediately ready to use again; for others they stay on for longer or until something else happens - that way I know that if the input Boolean is on, I’m still having dinner for example
could have saved making the first part of the video and slow down in the second part.... I would like my home assistance scenes buttons to work like Apple homekit... when you turn a scene on, it stays on and you can turn the scene off but if any state of any device within the included scene changes the scene goes off... I guess is a stretch for node red and an input Boolean - right?
@@WillSurridgeTech Please ease of the coffee's take a deep breath and slooow down :) also, can you move your head-overlay so it doesn't obscure what you are trying to show us in HA? Thnx

Dude you need to slow down - you are flying all over the place. I gave up watching as I had to pause and revert to catch all the stuff. You have deep knowledge but for people new to HA or looking for information its hard to keep up... Remember its not a contest!
No way to understand that, sorry . You make this for nerds, but they don’t need it. You should start to make it for beginners. Otherwise it’s wasted time.
@@WillSurridgeTech Doesn't change anything about it being waay too long though, it made it really tough to watch while I was searching for some pointers on home assistant. Not being rude, it's just a tad annoying that almost every video on RUclips does something similar. The chapters are gold worth though, keep that up :]

Have you any plans to do a video about setting up cameras in Home Assistant in the near future?
