Yeah, it's impossible to spare bosses during genocide. The yellow name in this game doesn’t mean you can spare a character. It just means they're one attack from death.
We are not really sure about that, it could be a bug, we know almost every monster name becames yellow when has low HP, probably the same happens to boss monster in genocide route as a confusion from developers.
@lemons38 I may have stirred some confusion, if knowledge serves, some bosses can be spared if you hurt them enough, but for other major ones that can't be spared by just hurting them, when their name is yellow through ACTING, that usually means that you can spare them... or betray them, thus resulting in an instant death. Hope that clears up some confusion in my previous comment!
I wonder if this yellow name is something intentional or not. The game had received only a single patch thus far, but maybe it is really intentional, as others have said that yellow means that the enemy is ready for justice to be delivered to them. It's especially interesting that her name goes yellow when you pick the fight option. Act or mercy show Ceroba's name in white.
"You just killed my best friend. You didn't spare him, or any of them."
"You don't GET the privilege of sparing me."
On my first Geno playthrough I just immediately killed her even though I noticed that her name was yellow. I was SO DONE with this fight.

For regular enemies and boss fights outside of genocide, it means both! How useful to know

@@Danny-Stylish yeah it sounds possible but why is the spare name is not yellow while the Fight name is yellow?
The "yellow" means that they are ready for your "justice" 😉
Why'd you put a winky there?
@@Ratpie34Who knows? 😉
@@Ratpie34 Aaron? ;)
I had imagined she would just pull a sans and stab you in the back if she could be spared anyway.
Imagine dying because of spare 😂
Sans situation?
Thanks I was curious if it was possible
What happens if you fight Pacific ceroba?
You get a different ending called flawed pacifist.
