I had no idea who Luther Vandross was when I first heard this played at house parties in the early 80’s. Great song!

@@aer0724 good afternoon
I was stationed in Germany when this song came out and I still love it today, RIP Luther
Real music you understand with a message.
My sister's daughter and my brother's son used to tear up on this when they were teens. I can still see them dancing and I know it's been what 40 years plus, 1979? This is the quintessential jam in fact! 💃
I LOVE THIS SONG. IT HAS ME POPPIN MY FINGERS. EACH TIME I LISTEN TO IT
I'm 62 soon . To be 63 and I bought the cassette then wore it out and bought the compact disc. This music never gets old
The only thing good about utube is the music

God blessed this wonderful tenor!! This song is what turned me on to Luther; " he'll be forever missed."
Rainbow in chicago thats where it was roller skating to this song im not in chicago no more and rain bow is gone 😢
The Rainbow was me and my siblings' spot in the early 80's...simpler times.
Luther, Ali, Bobby Fischer, Marvin Gaye, and Leonardo Davinci are 100-year artists, we won't see another for like him for a hundred years!
The Change/Luther collaboration had some of these most intricate and interesting intros and vibes. Luther was a musical master
I have always love to dance. I was one of the first in my crowd to bring Luther home! (musically) Saw him in concert with Patti Labelle. OUTSTANDING. HE IS MISSED!
This song brings back so many good memories, seems like only yesterday I'd hear this blasting from car radios along Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia......GTown/ Mt.Airy
COOL G RAPP, I remember this back in my youth, it was so uplifting like taking a road trip in peace and harmony, searching
The mans a legend
All I can think of WBLS blasting this song out of my brothers speakers
this is awesome
Beautiful music about love and great times, and sometimes not so good times, but always optimistic for the future. People were happier, friendlier and, more importantly, not as bitter.
А мне 66 ,эта музыка опередила свое время!

AMeen Luther was cheated out of a Grammy as the best new male vocalist with this album. To this day I-refuse to have any thing to do with the Grammys they gave the Grammy that year to James Ingram for find 100 ways the quince jones connection 😳🤔Luther had at three other songs on that album that STAYED IN THE TOP TEN OF THE R AND B CHARTS FOR WEEKS😳😖😖
😮
can someone tell me whats the name of the instrument at the sart of the song???
I thought it was at first
This is beyond music, Luther’s vocals were from outer space, sheer perfection on a whole different plateau! I’m 59 and when I listen to this I’m transported back to 1980 when I was 19 years old......such memories! 🌟
Damn right!
Your math don't add up friend..I too listened to Luther back in 1980 but I'm 60yrs old now which made me 17yrs old then so you would've been 16yrs not 19yrs old 🤔
@@bernardconnors6445 I bet you couldn’t sleep at night trying to work your calculator! 🤣
Nope..I used my fingers and my toes..😆
Hey I'm 77 and I still love this recording. Those Disco days were something else.

Thanks for sharing your testimony, please share it with every young man you possibly can. That first step to the big switcheroo is always the hardest. And yeah, that timbale solo ALWAYS!! takes me to Percussive Utopia, not too much, not too little but just enough. May GOD continue to BLESS you and your Family.
I rememer when i heard this for the first time. Liuther's voice sent shivers down my spine. Those were the days. 2024 & it still sounds good & the shivers are still there. ❤❤
This song is timeless. It sounds as fresh today as it did back then.

so glad I spent my youth out dancing to songs like this when it was the BEST time to be in your early 20s, just out of college, landing a good job, out dancing with Everybody and ringing in New Yrs to this album ! one of the best dance albums ever made....RIP Luther Baby
This song rocks, loved it way back...now at 53 i still love it!
Turning 56 and I still love it. :)
GREGORY RUSSO 16 and I love it
Can never get tired of this jam!!!
I was going on 14 when this song was released, and times were simpler and fun at that time. This was the jam!! RIP Luther! He killed the vocals on this joint!!
This song is the first time I heard LV's voice. I said who is THAT! Amazing voice. He was obscure. Then a few years later EVERYBODY KNEW WHO HE WAS!!!!!
My parents are the disco king and queen. I have just as much nostalgia for this era of music as they do. But only because I heard it so much as a kid during the late 80's to early 90's. This song always hit me in the gut hard because it makes me think of the summers in Breezy Point (private beach town in Queens, NY) and the house we used to rent by the water. BBQs everyday with family and friends. It was so much fun playing with the local kids and just being carefree. I miss those days so much, thank goodness my mom recorded hours of home movies of those days so that we'll never forget.
quality sound from epic era... !
I'm thinking...Soul Train...?
yep...the most underrated song and best luther ever...once i start playing it cant stop
@
These are called the oldies now my darling 😀
Italian/American studio band group Change, the brainchild of Jacques Petrus & Mauro Malawasi debuted with The Glow of Love album in 1980, and the 2nd single Searching blew up big time. The voice? yes it was the break Luther Vandross had spent yrs looking for, it left everyone asking who was the male vocalist singing this great song? this was the day the world knew the name of LUTHER VANDROSS & history beckoned
Luther is a icon
The only thing I
U
TRYING take care
Yes sir than he just took off icon indeed!!!!!!!
Most influential disco album of the 80s
In the club 1979 dancing to this song......I never knew it was Luther Vandross till years later.
The technical producing skills of this group Change was phenomenal. Just listen to this song for the layers of goodness. Then it was set off by the awesome vocals of the legendary Luther Vandross. Music magic...
Luther. Gone too soon.
Peter u said it. Luther & Barry White ironic how they died in the same year.

Luther ripped the vocals on this jam.Wow!!!!!!!!!! time machine please when life was so much simpler
THIS IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE/ Fell in love with song and found out much later on it is Luther singing.
Love him.... Searching.. w/Change
I can not say enough about how this groove takes me back to old ,vague, but great memories of a deeply impovershed childhood. Without the music of that time, we would not have coped as well. Thank goodness that we grew up with songs like this , instead of the nonsense they produce today.
I'm 52 and still love the heck out of this jam
yvette ramous you and me both
51 here. I remember jamming to this in high school and still jammig
Yvette Ramos I’m 63yrs and a STILL love this song!

LUTHER VANDROSS WAS
THE MAN
AND ALWAYS ON DEMAND
EVEN TO LEND A HELPING HAND
FOR HIS FRIENDS WITHIN
THE MUSIC INDUSTRY ALSO
BACKGROUND VOCALS OR TO ORCHESTRATED TO ENTERTAIN
THE PROPER MUSIC PRODUCTION
WITH HIS AMAZING LEGACY
WHY EVEN TODAY
"LUTHER VANDROSS" MUSIC IS STILL ON DEMAND.
Luther indeed set the bar for vocal excellence, and in my opinion, no one has matched his caliber since.
I agree

Mum, these songs by Luther will always be yours! Sound of our childhood. Love it!
I am 63 now and always played and loved this group
r i p luther voice of an angel
neil williams And a very nice man I might add, of whom I had the pleasure to meet at a movie theatre in Atlanta GA,as he held my baby girl, now 17 and said"how are you going to be a supreme this chubby"..
This song reminds me of my hero, my dad, rest in peace
Awesome music and to think he was a backing singer to the late great David Bowie
He also sang backup for Roberta Flack on a Stevie Wonder song, 'Don't make me wait too long'. She said he should go solo.
I did not know that! But I am not surprised that Mr. Bowie would have discovered this great talent.
