We would have big flight parties on Friday night...but EVERYTHING came to a stop at 9:00pm to watch Miami Vice...that's how popular it was. Women were all over watching that show...and we were watching the women! A target rich environment. Needless to say this song brings back vivid memories of good times with people and flying the hottest helicopters in the military. Thanks for the post!

yep, by far, 80's and in some way also the 90's were the best ever. New technology was breaking through, but all in very basic, simple shoes. Microwaves, Walkman, Discman, first game computer, first personal computer....but nowadays, I am telling you, that internet and social media is killing the world as we know. What first was a blessing, has now become a curse. If ever there is a time machine, I got first dibs.
It was kept simple,. There were barely any climate protection and diversity issues. But the problems were there. Mostly too much metaphor and too naive and superficial. Nevertheless, it was a nice decade to dream about.
I believe that most people tend to remember the years and decades until they were 25, 30 yo or so with special fondness and nostalgia. They are years that leave a mark on us, a period when we experience life with curiosity, excitement, and emotion. Life is beautiful always, but there is something special about recalling the moments when we were young and had our whole lives ahead of us, and that includes the music and themes such great as this one.
I was a teen in the 80s. Every Friday night I’d sit there with friends watching Miami Vice. Loving the music, the women, the action, story lines, the scenery of Miami and of course the cars and of the show. I’m now in mid life, but own a turbo charged Spyder convertible and love driving at night with the top down listening to this music. Brings me back in time!! Hey yeah! Long live Miami Vice!
Same here man i was in miramar high school during the miami vice era. Heck the one episode was filmed at north perry airport and i actually snuck on to the set....NBC on a friday night. Over the last few weeks I actually went and watched all the episodes season 1 - 5 on peacock!!!

Realistic & brutal ( not that I'm into violence) like Remember when 'Sonny Crockett' had a hit man after him by a Columbian cartel (?) & Tubbs coming all the to Miami from NYC to avenge his brothers death @ the hands of the cartel. Kids weren't raised in daycare from 3 months and there were still grandparents around to help with kids after school, families still had a little time for kids without being worn out beat down stressed out meaning children went through something but still got love their parents wanted to give instead of desperation of single moms who can't be in 4 places at once and don't have the money or energy to be superhuman like that.

The present to my 50th birthday i got from my wife was the complete DVD set, my wish but unknown to her. Starting with the first episode Miami Vice is a musthave every weekend for the whole familiy, even our teeny kids are completely crazy with Tubbs and Crockett. They put so much value in my life that I changed my last will. I changed the music from Frank Sinatra "my way" to Crockett´s Theme.

Miami Vice was my favorite with Don Johnson although he was only there for one year. I liked him because we are the same age and I began diving when the show was first on along with my wife and we both became instructors and dived all over the Caribbean and we dived with sharks barracuda, langostino and many porpoises, and other aquatic creatures in a half dozen countries. I went on to become a cave diver, but the best thing about this version is it's a great song to work out to. We miss those times!

The '80's was like this huge Miami vice episode where everything goes. How can I explain it: It was like a silly 80's cartoon (take your pick) and if it went bad or good it would reset and the episode would start all over but in a different situation. If we ever had time travel go to the 80's you would say WHAT!!!! The 80's was the era in what we see today. It was this huge Christmas or birthday present that opened up on everybody and mankind and it said HERE! I wonder when we will have another 80's maybe we will be more fantastic or crazy when everybody was in a groove.
It is pure musical genius by the creators of this masterpiece. I would go as far as to say it was Alien download into the minds of the musicians. I will explain a little so that you can feel my vibe: I was about 10 years old then. Soon my friend will come to visit me, we will play Vice City, eat chips and drink Cola. Then I'll get the pirate CD "Scarface" that my uncle gave to my father. It's a warm summer evening, the sky is the same pink, just like you have in Miami (I live in the Caucasus, in summer our weather is similar to yours). You know, one person said about Synthwave: "This music makes you nostalgia for the times in which you never lived" and it's true! If I was offered to use a time machine, I would send it there, to Miami in the 80s!

You know, I myself was born in 97. I didn't live in the 80s. I'm from Russia myself, so I haven't even been to America. But there is something native in this music, from childhood. I will explain a little so that you can feel my vibe:
I was about 10 years old then. Soon my friend will come to visit me, we will play Vice City, eat chips and drink Cola. Then I'll get the pirate CD "Scarface" that my uncle gave to my father. It's a warm summer evening, the sky is the same pink, just like you have in Miami (I live in the Caucasus, in summer our weather is similar to yours).
You know, one person said about Synthwave: "This music makes you nostalgia for the times in which you never lived" and it's true! If I was offered to use a time machine, I would send it there, to Miami in the 80s!
I am not American myself, I am French I knew the 80s but I have never been to the United States and like you if I had a time machine it is in miami in the 80s that I will choose 😉👊
