love your tutorials, especially the little "beginner friendly" projects, I'm 62 and I'm a beginner to that wonderful sewing hobby ... still struggling with binding though 🫣🤣 thanks for all the time you take to help all of us out here ... Love from Germany, Danielle
I love all your tutorials! You make me want to do all these fun projects! I started quilting/sewing when I turned 48- a year and a half after my precious granny passed away. Every summer I would stay 2 weeks with her. I would sit at her feet while she quilted, crocheted, knitted ,embroidered, needlepointed. Yet I never desired to do any of it until it was too late. I inherited her sewing machine (it needs serviced for sure) so I bought a beginners singer and haven’t looked back! I’ve done 2 quilts, a table runner, numerous pj bottoms and pillow cases and one bag! Every time I see I can feel my granny. I’ve even smelled her late one evening. I know she would be so proud of me! Thank you for all you do! You an amazing teacher! 💗
Your tutorials are FABULOUS. I especially appreciate the pace of them. So many other tutorials I watch are dragged out and last 3 times longer than they should. It seems they approach every one of them as though every viewer has no basic knowledge. That's great for beginner tutorials but doing every one of them like that is just not necessary. You get right to it, give us the supplies and jump right in. Your style is so appreciated and I'm completely drawn to everything you post. They're clear & concise without the extra chatter & fluff. Please keep it going! Thanks so much! :)
Absolutely what I needed to see. As a beginner sewer, I wanted to watch something that felt "do-able" for my first try at creating something. Terrific!
I cannot say enough how happy I am to have found your tutorials. I have been a garment sewist for years and am just now curious about making quilts. I just pieced my first mug rug for my brother who is in assisted living and loves coffee. It is not exactly perfect by any means but he will love it. I am trying to learn with small projects first. I have cut a lot of denim squares from old jeans that I want to make guy quilts out of. One day at a time.
This would be great for laying your scissors on to keep from scratching a wood sewing machine cabinet. I made something similar but this is much cuter. Thanks for a great tutorial.
Thank you Erica I love your channel and came to sewing late in life after I retired. These little projects are just perfect for using up fabrics and making fun little things - as we are all in lockdown I am making Christmas projects in readiness to see for our local hospice charity. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent and expertise and keeping us all going. You are really appreciated thank you. Keep safe Everyone. Big hugs and loves from the U.K. xxxxxxxx Dorothy 🙋🏻❤️😘🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Erica I so love your tutorials..I look back at a lot of them..but watch nearly every day for new stuff. Your pinwheel quilt is my fav..and love this mug rug....great gift!!!
I love this video you do such a nice job teaching us newbies. I made one the other day and my problem is is everything comes out crooked. Can you help me resolve this I want to make one so bad that looks beautiful like yours.
I am so intimidated by quilting but I absolutely LOVE your method!!! I'm not a huge quilter but I do have a lot of extra fleece lying around so I'm planning on using it as a substitute! So excited to make some gifts and use up all the scraps I have!
I keep finding new tips for sewing and quilting. I am making a large piece for a friend that is a 9 patch with 4 inch squares. I will be doing it all by hand. I'll see how this method works. Then I'll do another one all on the machine so I can compare the two. I'll also be making a video for my little channel. TFS! Hugs, Marsha from Florida P.S. My channel is all about using up what you have to make gifts and green crafting.
Me too! I hadn't sewn very much for a while but made a lot of masks. It got me back into sewing! I have quite a few small pieces of fabric that will work just great for making mug rugs. They will make great gifts! Thanks!
Thank you for showing the whole project rather than stop at binding. As a newbie to QAYG, it's very helpful. I also saw a video where the backing was used for the binding - rather than a separate piece of fabric. That's an idea for future tutorials.
Love love love your super fast n easy method AND concise easy instructions without droning on and on about nonessential stuff. Keep up the good work! Thanks! This is exactly what I needed right ‘this minute. I subscribed 😀
love it !! with all the scraps i have from making mask, now i know what i will be using them for. can't wait to start making mug rugs. thanks for the great video
How cute is this? I discovered your channel a few weeks ago when searching for face mask tutorials (which, by the way, yours was the best I found). I haven’t used a sewing machine since Home Ec in middle school, so I’m basically a total beginner. Your tutorials are excellent. They’re easy to follow even for someone with little or no experience, you do a great job demonstrating and explaining and I love that you don’t waste time with rambling stories, jokes that aren’t funny, etc. Cant wait to try some of your other projects!
Thank you Erica. I love that your cat has to be in the video. My cat lays on my sewing table, but has to have a baby quilt to lay on. Thanks again for all the videos! Stephanie E
What a great tutorial. These will make a great Christmas gift with a mug and some homemade treats. I think you do a great job with your videos, keep up the good work❤
I made this today and your directions were very helpful . I especially appreciate the time and close up you took with the binding. That looks much easier then it really is. Thank you so much for the help and wonderful tutorials!
Haha. I just finished a quilt that I loved the fabric and was just wondering if I could somehow use the scraps for a mug rug. So funny you would post this tutorial. Thank you sooo much. Love the quilt as you go idea. So cute. You always seem to use the cutest fabric!
Love this tutorial. Thanks for getting straight to the point and not blabbing for 10 mins before you get started! Thank you! Making one today! #newsewer
Love kitty’s addition to the video
You made this look sew easy! 😂😂. but for real, thank you. I'm going to give this project a try! Thank you for your video.
Great project for beginners and more advanced sewers. Thank you!

Super Bello, Gracias por Compartir tus conocimientos, un Abrazo desde Venezuela.-
Your QAYG is so neat! My. Scraps are all over the place…up, down, across one corner, past the top..on an angle, etc. a real "scrappy" deal…lol
That's some real fun project ✨👌👏 I'm a beginner and will definitely try it.
This would be great for laying your scissors on to keep from scratching a wood sewing machine cabinet. I made something similar but this is much cuter. Thanks for a great tutorial.
This would make a sweet gift for a quilt bee, a tea or any gathering you want to have a gift for your friends.
No!!! Now I want to make this! I’m going through some of my UFO’s but keep seeing new things I want to make! Love this!
