I’ll speak from a different POV as a former Looney Tune at Six Flags. When possible, the characters go out in pairs that have logical ones per cartoon. My case I was Daffy to another CM’s Bugs when we were paired up the last day of regular season. Sly and Tweety is another as are Coyote and Roadrunner. Likely here the preferred pairing would get Belle and Beast but likely what Disney does is if it’s too hot, the second pairing is Belle and Gaston. As long as the pairings are correct story wise (ie here Belle and Gaston teasing each other, etc.) it works.
