    Sterling Ink has fixed the cover for the Common Planner.
    Here are some ideas for those daily pages:
    1. Keep track of anything related to your apartment or rental home (ex: maintenance requests, purchases, replacing smoke detector batteries, etc.)
    2. Pictures for memory keeping
    3. Recipes for your favorite foods or pantry inventory
    4. Your favorite shops and any discount codes
    5. News (world or local)
    6. Use it for content planning for social media
    7. Swatch pages for pens and markers
    8. Lists for Christmas or birthday gifts
    9. Lists of monthly, quarterly or yearly tasks
    10. A 2024 preview... because sometimes things come up for next year!

    I have this planner and I use the back blank pages as my reading journal. If you find yourself reading quite a bit maybe you can utilize those back pages in that way.

    I use my monthly for my and my husband’s dr appointments and fun events but I love your use of collections to decorate them. I personally prefer the common planner and am happy that I went with the B6 compact. I don’t use daily pages but sometimes need the extra pages for notes, memory keeping etc. Note: my first Sterling Common planner is 2024 and she has addressed the cover. I purchased an A6 Hobonichi Hon for journaling not realizing that it has monthly calendars and goes straight into dailies- it’s ok for journaling but not as a planner in my opinion. I agree

    I’ve not had any issues with my cover. SterlingInk changed the cover based on customer feedback. It’s been changed for all their notebooks and undated planners they’ve launched and even the 1/2 year dated preorder (for the 2nd half 2023 books). I personally prefer the original cover by far. But I know I’m in the minority.
    I’m using the dated B6 CP for my personal/EDC and the A5 undated CP for work. Love and adore both. This planner is close to perfection for me. I wish the months and weeks were together but that’s not a deal breaker for me just a preference.
    I’ve never seen a planner as a place to set my goals - I’ve added this to a planner before but to me that’s not it’s purpose - it’s purpose is to keep me organized and on track with my daily life. That can incorporate goals but often it’s just the day to day. But I appreciate that Catherine included goal setting in the planner but in a way that it can easily be used for other things. Just like the quarterly it can be used for so many different things and doesn’t have to be tied into your goals or even tracking. It’s so flexible.
    That’s a good use of your monthly if you don’t need it for actual scheduling. There’s so many ways to use your monthly - I’m planning a video on it - such a long list of different ways.
    Same with dailies - so many ways to use those blank pages. I don’t use them for daily pages pretty much ever. It’s a common place section for me ❤

      Where you live definitely makes cover shopping different. We can’t go into a store here and buy an A5 or A6 cover. We’d have to go to specialty shop you searched out or order online. And I’ve never had any issues finding B6 covers online - I’ve got tons just as I have in other sizes.

    I use mine as a journal, doing a memory a day in the monthly, affirmations in the weekly, then just stream of conscious writing in the blank pages! I also didn’t enjoy the cover but I’m glad it was been (supposedly) as I hope to use this notebook for journaling again next year!

    I honestly don't use any of the daily pages either. I would love a few pages a month, but nothing more than that. Also I wish that the months/weeks went together, like jan monthly, then the jan weeks, and so on.

  • @JustScribble
    @JustScribble Год назад

    Curious. You used the dailies in the Cousin so why don’t you need/use them here? They are the same as the cousin - just without the dates and it would be easy to date if you needed them dated to force yourself to use them.
    You should look at the new AE undated coming out. It might be a good fit for you. Same weekly layout. Less blank pages.
    There are some brands with thicker covers. Like the TAS B6. But it’s undated.

    • @planning_plain
      @planning_plain  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the suggestions! As for the dailies, yes, I used them in Cousin for about two months, but I stopped because it felt forced and I had to come up with an idea every day.
      Thanks for the AE suggestions, I am looking into it.

    • @JustScribble
      @JustScribble Год назад

      One benefit of this planner is that it’s easy to adjust. Lots of folks aren’t using it in vertical style - the creator is one of them. She has videos sharing her planner and she rarely uses it as a vertical. Planner Mumsy and others don’t either. It’s very flexible.

    The purpose of having a planner is not to set goals, it's to keep track of appointments and tasks. This is why so few planners include goal-setting in any meaningful way, and why a lot of people add something like the MakseLife or PowerSheets offerings. I was happy to see the Common Planner includes goal setting, although I still do my goal management in a separate notebook. I only list the goals in the Common Planner. And I really struggle with the daily pages. I don't need a full page for every day, so I do a lot of lists and brain dumps instead. That'll eat up some pages!

    • @planning_plain
      @planning_plain  Год назад

      Thanks for the comment! I agree with you on daily pages, I am now trying to use them for a reading journal, will make a video if it goes well. As for purpose of planners, I see your point, but personally planning my daily tasks is meaningless for me if I don't align them to my big goals. This is something I started doing a few years ago and now I feel like my days are more productive.

    • @arubafanatic
      @arubafanatic Год назад +2

      I think I would like this plantar if it didn't have the goal setting part in it. I like that the daily section is not dated. Because it's better for things like meeting notes and working out your ideas that spread multiple pages.
      Also I live on the monthly spread. My job is project oriented and so I need to get the global view of what is due when and I need to be able to see them in a monthly format that is easy to read and then I'm able to break my week down accordingly.

    • @planning_plain
      @planning_plain  Год назад

      @@arubafanatic Monthly spreads are indeed great for project work, they really help to see big picture. I guess I might start using them properly when I start my studies and have projects to track.
      Do you do goal setting? I am wondering what you use for this.

    • @planning_plain

      Yes, that would be great. However, the quotes on every page would still bother me

    • @JustScribble
      @JustScribble Год назад

      For me that wouldn’t fix any of these Cousin issues - it would still have color and wasted functional space. Whereas the CP has all the same aspects but clean and in B6. And if you need dated pages it’s super easy to do that yourself or with stickers from Randi.Plans. You can even predate the blank pages for the whole year.
