No offense meant but @ 10:35 hearing "I'm Zach from the Spark team, and we're in CHINA", and a fraction of a second later hearing Mexican music... LMAO

I like seeing kickstarter/crowdfund vids, but only when expecting and prepared for them, this was titled to imply these products were ALREADY on the open market and was rather irked when i realized it

@@ethicalrevolution3294 teensy 4.0 and 4.1@600mhz, can be overclocked to just over 1GHZ, but requies cooling after overclocking. Best MCU i ever owned. Best MCU i made my projects with when i need more computing power. Not too cheap, not too expensive.

Only one thing is missing from kickstarters: the IDEA. We have lots of THINGS, we do not need more. We need ideas, not useless stuffs.

Chip was a really nice tiny computer. I've got my hands on the very first version that had 8GB, but only used half. Later, I've managed to upgrade the OS so now it uses the full 8GB of storage. It is considerably faster than the Raspbery Pi 1 Model B I have, albeit it is not a speed demon.

Only Teense 3.6 interesting. Or maybe Omega2 for my childrens's.

    These aren't microchips. They're microcontrollers.

Hey I can use my 10-bay full server tower as a developer's computer. Yay! It has USB 2, is a real 100% IBM compatible CPU, plus it runs at 200 MHz so slightly faster than the 180 MHz chip featured in this compilation. :)

I have one of the older teensies... I dont understand the compulsion to make it so small by putting io on the back of the board which is unusable unless you spend more than the board costs to for and adapter for it. Why not make the board a little bigger with all the IO along the edges.

Sure are a lot of people with BIG titles for the micro-view!!!!

  • @Petrovjan

These are all way too expensive....for the price of one Spark Core I can have 10 Wemos D1 Mini (based on ESP8266) that are arguably even better....and for the price of a MicroView I can get 5 Wemos boards with 5 OLED shields...

For the Arduinos on the list you have a point, but you'd be hard pressed to beat the features of the Omega2 in its price range. $6 and you've basically got a Linux computer (and yes, you can get it going without the extra hardware, unlike a Raspberry Pi Zero). Chip, for it's power, is also a really good bargain.

Petrovjan they even make weemos and esp-32s with built in oleds lol

    • @Syncopator

I agree, and for my embedded application the Omega2 isn't very good due to Linux and its need to be shutdown cleanly. The Arduino base would be way better, but a Wemos D1 Mini + OLED display is less than 1/4 the price of a Microview and I don't need the stupid case, in fact it gets in the way. What I'd really like to see is a D-Duino with the display rotated 90 degrees, as the wide form factor is no good for my app at all-- and the D-Duino doesn't seem to have consistent manufacture as well, which makes it kind of useless for any kind of quantity buy. The biggest problem with the Wemos D1 Mini + OLED is there is way too little I/O.

the spark core presentation wasn't very convincing, too much Hollywood and hardly any Area 51 (the deep dark things and how you can REALLY make use of it) there's already modules about the same size or smaller that add wifi to projects, so what's so special about this one ??? oh, they didn't really address that did they?
C.H.I.P. & Omega 2 are DEFINITELY on my Christmas wish list though
