    Sorry they messed things up for u. Again a beautiful, moving film. Shot beautifully. Water is a recurring and potent symbol of rebirth. We can choose courage or we can choose comfort, but sadly we can't have both. Not at the same time. To all reading this...Do not allow people to dim your shine because they are blinded. Tell them to put some sunglasses on. Let that bright light shine. Thanx so much, take care, Peace

    Such a stunning, heart-wrenching and important film. Superb acting all around and great direction. The final scene between Chiron and Kevin always gets me. Trevante Rhodes' face shows all the years of pain and longing and loneliness Chiron has experienced. When he finally gets up the courage to tell Kevin "You're the only man that's ever touched me" you can see that a huge, heavy burden is taken off his shoulders. I love the final, tender, subtle moment with Chiron's head resting on Kevin's shoulder, Kevin's hand on his head--it feels like such a breakthrough.

    One of my favorite movies. So beautiful and agonizing. I'm white and European but I felt that the experiential gap between me and the (gay) black experience depicted in this show was, at least in part, bridged by this movie. Art like this is so valuable.

    I blame addicts especially once you become a parent, because everybody has demons and trauma in life. I've been hurting to the point it felt like my very spirit was imploding. Would go to sleep crying and wake up crying, breathing felt like suffocating because i was constantly encased in emotional and psychological pain. Suffered SEVERE postpartum depression and psychosis while being emotionally and mentally abused by the woman my twins father left me for mid pregnancy. Thought of turning to drugs multiple times in my life just to numb but especially once i had my kids I couldn't even fathom taking drugs or alcohol to numb because of my love for them. Everything in life is a choice, and i get it some are just weaker than others, but once you're a parent that child becomes your life or at least they should. We know of plenty people that got off hard core drugs because they loved their kids. What you choose to injest and what you DECIDE to put your child's through is 100% on you. How you choose to deal with your demons is on you. I say this also because one of my childhood friends has a mother who's an addict and if it wasn't for those in our community God only knows where him and his brothers would be. It's beyond painful.

    Thanks so much for the reupload. I was bummed when it got taken down before I got a chance to watch.
    This reaction finally got me to watch Moonlight. I’ve owned it for years knowing it’s an amazing movie, but I’ve never watched it because I knew it would be a tough one. Thank you for the motivation to finally watch such a beautiful story.
    Amazing reaction as always. Always love your insights. “When some minority groups start to realize that other minority groups are fighting the same battles against the oppressor - I’m a Black person. I should understand what it feels like for a White racist person to talk down to me. Why then should I talk down to another Black person just because they’re queer? At that point, you’re being the oppressor as well.”

    • @FrankFreezy_
      @FrankFreezy_  5 месяцев назад +2

      Wow, that’s awesome. Isn’t it just so precious?💜
      Yes yes yes! We are all fighting the same battle against oppression. it’s very sad that when you’ve been abused so much, sometimes you start turning into the perpetrator with your own abuse, and the abuse of other people like you. We have to keep fighting against that.
      Thank you for always joining the conversation in my common sections 💜 you are valued
