i finally made the connection ... I knew it was weard that Xardas could just teleport in The Sleeper's temple ... it all makes sence ... and in G2 he didn't make the same mistake . Just imagine how more powerful Xardas would have been if he could absorb Krushak's soul
If he had successfully done that, he might have even become a being of "true power". That is terrifying, considering just how much he was capable of with just the dragon's power. Okay said dragon was an avatar of Beliar, but not nearly as powerful as Krushak from what we've seen.
Great video about the most crucial character in the series. Main premise of Gothic, which makes the game so great, is confirmed again: that player's character, the Nameless hero, is thrown in a funcional world and must find his way on his own. As it seems, Xardas is one of the "main characters" of the story, not the Nameless hero... Reminds me of real life :D Do you plan to continue Gothic Lore series? It would be great, because there are so many things to explore and your videos are well produced and highly informative. Thank you for that!
Thank you for the feedback.^^ I'm not planning on continuing it for now. I got all the lore stuff I planned for out of the way and I need a break from working through the Gothic lore. Perhaps I will continue in 2022, but only if I can think of enough ideas for the series to keep it going.
It's a nice video, but I don't like how everything was retroactively declared to be part of Xardas's masterplan from G2 on. It's dishonest by PB to pretend any of this grand scheming was thought of, when G1 was created.
Thank you for the compliment. I immediately recognized your name, your channel is basically my first go-to whenever I want to watch or learn about Gothic speedrunning. Back to the topic: Prior to the release of Gothic 2, they confirmed multiple times in interviews that they have no master-plan at all, and that they're writing the story based on whatever they need to create the world they want. Maybe some of the other members later claimed otherwise, I don't know. The OG team of PB always said that they haven't planned anything. What I remember is that PB never really acknowledged Gothic 3's lackluster writing or their general tendency for retconning. Gothic 3 is a good example. On one hand, they admitted that the entire plot is unfinished and that the writing is flawed, and at the same time, they claimed that G3's story is fundamentally the same as G2's story. They claimed the actual issue with their writing was their "deliberate" choice to thin-out the world-building and that they didn't give important characters enough dialogue to work with. And then, whenever the question of retconning comes up, they usually said something along the lines of "oh it's just because people in that world have different perspectives and opinions" to wave the criticism away, while repeating the same mistakes up until the studio's closure. :( Personally, I don't have a strong opinion in either way. I definitely would have preferred stronger writing, especially in terms of consistency. When it comes to the Xardas-Master-Plan-Retcon, I feel kinda neutral because Gothic 3 happened and basically killed any potential this plot could have had. I do prefer the G2-focused War-of-Gods plot over the Orcs-vs-Humans plot because it makes the universe appear as much deeper than it really is. I do know though that there are many that prefer the Orcs-vs-Humans plot because it's more condensed and grounded, I think.
Really nice work, and it's sad that your videos are underrated:(
Fantastic lore series, what a journey!
so much info about the most mysterious character in the series! thanks!

Awake from thy slumber!
Heyho, can't do that quite yet. Still got too much on my plate to work off.
Great video for those who don't want to play Gothic 1-2 like myself, but wish to try Gothic 3.
Gothic one and two are the good ones

Still inactive at the moment.
@@criticalbytes1739 must be busy, huh? Hope to get more free time soon.
@@goodoldgamingyoutuber6371 I hope so as well, though it doesn't look promising right now. Thanks though, I wish you the best.

Mach bitte mehr.
Ich denke weiterhin darüber nach, aus verschiedenen Gründen, aber ich bin zeitmäßig derzeit ziemlich ausgebucht.
