I took my new bride to Yosemite Valley in Sept. of 1978. Before we came out of the tunnel I told her to close her eyes and don't open them. I pulled into the pull out and opened her door to step out and she looked at that famous view. She broke down crying she couldn't believe how beautiful it was. I had made reservations for Yosemite Lodge for two nights in July, now it's like two years. She climbed up on that same dead tree you were standing by. She was so blown away I was really touched, I used to work there and was used to it. I'd forgot the amazement I had at 14 first time I saw it.
Thanks again for the adventures. Great video and really cool seeing the pics of when you guys got engaged. Yall make a beautiful couple.
Thank you so much! It was fun to return to the same spots from our engagement pics, particularly in such a beautiful spot. 👍 -Howard
I always look forward to all your videos.
Thanks so much, and we're glad you're along for the jouney! 👍 -Howard
My wife and I spent are honeymoon there at yosemite, we hike the mist trail in May, very wet then in the spring
Sounds like a fantastic honeymoon! The beauty and hiking options from the valley are fantastic. 👍 -Howard
Great Video. I live 2 hours from Yosemite, been there when I was a kid. At 63 time to RV back. Thanks Don
Hey Don! Yes, sounds like it's definitely time for another visit. I bet you'll find it to be even more incredible now!
Wow! Another fantastic video, which really takes me back to my numerous visits there! Your ongoing tour of our national parks has been such a wonderfully rewarding experience for your viewers. It's really brought back so many great memories for me! Thanks again for your continued efforts, in spite of all the many roadblocks throughout the journey! Stay safe and enjoy!!!
Larry, thanks so much! As you said, there have been several challenges along the way, but the reward of exploring and sharing all these amazing National Parks has made it worth it many times over. We're so glad you're along for the journey! 👍 -Howard
Thanks for sharing Yosemite. Haven't been there in a long time either. Cool you got married in Hawaii🤙
Very nice tour. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard
Beautiful! Rock on!
🤘❤ Thank you!
Yes, I got a walk up tent caming spot when I last visited December 2021, 36f that night. Maybe thats why there were open sites. Hahaha
Haha, MAYBE that's why... 🤣
Another beautiful video. Bravo to doing the 600 steps. The waterfalls were stunning!! Your engagement pictures were so fun and beautiful.Until the next video, take care and be safe.Hugs to the puppies ❤️❤️🇨🇦
Thank you so much! It was fun to revisit the spots from our engagement pics. As always, we're so glad you're along for the journey! 👍 -Howard
Wow the Vernal Falls are gorgeous! What a beautiful hike on the Mist Trail. I love your engagement photos.
Thanks, Karla! It was certainly more crowded on the Mist Trail up to Vernal Falls than the last time we did it. 😅 -Howard
Scenery is overwhelming!
Oh my gosh the engagement photos!! So beautiful 😍 Thanks so much for bringing us along to Yosemite this time!
Thank you so much! We love having those memories to look back on. And it was so fun to actually film this time. Glad you enjoyed it! ❤😍 -Katelyn
This is the next park we want to visit! That Mist Trail looks amazing. Love, love, love your engagement photos! 💖
It's truly incredible. The photos and videos are beautiful, but it really is amazing in person. You two will love it! Thank you so much! So fun to have those special memories. ❤
Well we’re totally following you two now. We loved this vid.
Wow, thank you so much! We're glad you're along for the journey, and all the adventures still to come! 👍 -Howard
Fun! My friends used to Workamp at that campground! I just did a few under 500 stairs - felt it, but was the view was worth it! I had a feeling it was a special place related to your engagement. :)
What a place to work camp! Maybe some day we'll give that a try for a season, particularly in a beautiful spot like that (or a beach, lol). 👍 -Howard
Super beautiful video. I saw some dangerous walking areas, better keep your eyes on your feet!
Oh yes! Those stone steps covered in water... can be quite dangerous if you aren't paying attention!
Great video - thanks for sharing! Cheers from Ohio!
Darin, thanks so much! 👍 -Howard
We lived 40 miles from Yosemite for many years. It still is my favorite national park. Another favorite viewpoint of mine is Glacier Point. I know you were limited in where you could film, but maybe in a future episode, you'll be able to show it, if you haven't already in your previous one.
Thanks, Phyllis, appreciate the suggestion! With the construction and reconstruction, we definitely had limits for Yosemite filming. BUT, we still haven't been up to Glacier Point, and for two years they have been doing a massive project on the road: www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/gproadfaq.htm
Hopefully on our next trip we can get up there! -Howard
@@NewstateNomads I didn't realize the road had been closed, but it sounds like it will be much better when it's done.
MY HEART BELONGS TO YOSEMITE!…like my husband said earlier, we visited for 43 years EACH YEAR, spending a week camping in North Pines campground in the Valley. After the reservation system was “improved” (ha!) about 4-5 years ago, we haven’t been able to get any site for more than one day, then changing sites for the second or third day. (IF we are lucky to get one!). We’ve stayed outside the park and drove in for five days, but that is def a pain, especially when we are driving our Navion as we don’t have a toad. Our grandkids are always asking when we all can go again, and me too. Reservations vaporize within 30 seconds of them going on-sale! It’s very depressing, but am not going to give-up trying, as THIS is my Happy Place. I would live in Yosemite, if I could. Everywhere you look, there is spectacular beauty. Thank you so much for showing me my favorite place on the planet…I will NOT give-up trying to camp in Yosemite for the full seven nights allowable. I absolutely love your videography…the quality is just unmatched, and watching your happy faces while you enjoy so many places, is just wonderful. THANK YOU! Much Love, Virginia 🩷
Thank you so much, Virginia!!! And yes, so amazing that you all camped there for 43 years. WOW! We agree, the current reservation system can be so frustrating. It's certainly not ideal, but you're right. Just keep trying! ❤😍 -Katelyn
We had 5 Sequoia trees along our house! 😂🌲We moved!
WOW, that must have been something to see! 👍 -Howard
Was what you did in this video all done in 1 day? I’m planning a trip for end of May beginning of June and I’m trying to get better idea on the amount of time to spend at each park. Thanks and great informative video!
Thanks, Lisa! We actually filmed that over 4 days, but it takes us about double with stopping for filming and photography. Probably 2 days would be a comfortable amount of time. One day in the valley, one day up on the way to Tioga Pass. Glad our episodes have been helpful for your planning! 👍 - Howard
We only have three months left for the year--are you going to be able to get all those other parks in the remaining 14 weeks?
We've already filmed up to number 31. We talked about it several weeks ago during one of our RUclips live episodes, but we'll likely finish the year around 40. The bad weather combined with having to adjust our route several times didn't do us any favors. But we'll still finish with an impressive number and hit the remaining ones next year!
40 parks in 1 year? Most people are lucky to hit 2 or 3, maybe 5 tops. And I wonder how many people you'd meet who made 40 mini-docs on their visits. Congrats! I'm headed to Acadia this weekend for the first time!
