- They did it! They've cracked the code on cat communication! All you have to do is click on RUclips's automatic closed captions and now we get to know everything our cats are thinking. (Just don't click on it for this video or you won't see what I have screen captured!) Well, ok, it doesn't work all the time. In fact, it only seems to work with Shorty, though Koko does manage to get through once in this video. Tambien, mi gato habla espanol ahora. Estupendo! Is she listening to my Duolingo cuando estoy estudiando? A lo mejor! Anyway, just look at these recent screen recordings of actual RUclips translations and finally understand what our Queen Shoshobeans is saying and when she's simply singing the song of Her people. You're welcome.

I usually have closed captioning turned on, so I've been treated to wonderful "translations" for years, and I've often noticed that cats get translated as "applause" which is just perfect. Kodi's "mom" translation kinda broke me, though.
I had no idea Shorty spoke Spanish. Poor Kodi wanted his mom.

I watched a Cat Documentary and learned that cats only developed their miaows for humans to try to communicate with us because they don't exhibit that behavior with one another or in the wild. That info made me want to grab ALL the kitties and give them squishy hugs as a big 'thank you' for trying to talk to us.
So true. I had a jet black cat, Cheyenne, and she would chatter all the time. And she used to yodel. Seriously.

I have a kitty who talks on her "happy" days. Which is a day with lots of treats, good food, and rubs or cuddles. After dinner she starts out singing quietly and brings the volume up to as loud as possible. She even inserts her favorite sound, which is balar, balar,ou,ou. I don't know what it means, but she is so happy, just singing her heart out.
I was watching a video in French a few days ago, and every time he'd say a phrase in English, closed captioning would still try to make it French and it was hilarious.

Omg, i found the "pack a day for 10 years" cat. My 9 year old and I watch that one video so often and have a great laugh everytime. And then this video showed up, and seen the one clip. So excited we can follow ypur Chanel now.
The translator did better than I might have been expected in various places: “mommmm,” “no no” and of course “[music].” I’m not sure about “wow” though. In my experience, cats are not so easily impressed!
My 3 cats totally responded to Shorty and paid great attention to her, even seemed concerned at one point.. I think they definitely understood what she was saying🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

That open-throated middle of the night yowl those of us with kitty roommates are so familiar with. Saying "I like cats" does not convey the huge amount of respect and awe I have for the intelligence, wisdom and sense of humor my feline friends have had. 💕
The thumbnail...Molly's pupils would be vertical lines from top to bottom of her green eyes. We called them her alligator eyes. They sent chills down our spines until we remembered they were attached to sweet/silly/a tiny bit spicy Molly-dolly. Her brother (Smurfy) Murphy had no spice, just sweet loves for everybody, even his sister when she teased him to chase her then got mad when he caught her. She was catty as can be for 15 years. He acted like a puppy his entire 15 years. They were a privilege to raise and care for. Such a big part of our little household.
