I do the same. I mean I have my salty moments too let's be real, but I generally want everyone around me to bowl well.
Im a fairly new bowler, just got my first ball (Burner Pearl) and watching Darrens videos and learning his approach and insight has given me a HUGE boost in my average and general knowledge….Really got me into bowling along with my brother and cousin. It's always such a pleasurable video. Everyone needs to have a friend like Lance with great energy and positivity. Nothing amazes me with Darren anymore, my favorite bowler to watch by far. Keep it up with the great content almost to that 100k as well congrats

Not in my league. People have threatened me with physical harm because I throw a plastic ball thanks to a disability. I have a nervous system condition that doesnt allow me to use my thumb and my arm is very weak. So I have no choice but to use plastic because I use 2 fingers and its the only comfortable release I can do, so I have a slow shot with a lot of side-axis rotation. Obviously, modern equipment does not fit my style sadly.. Ive spent thousands of dollars, and tried everything... Plastic is the only thing that works.. And I am averaging 210 with plastic!

@@Detroit0903 they get mad that I mess up the house pattern and oil.. But its stupid because most people dont have a problem and since its a competitive league, most know how to bowl around my line..

I used the Columbia 300 blue dot as a primary ball, and Columbia Black Knight. Both were awesome balls for me. I got 2 perfect games with them

Back in the mid 90s I bowled a Sunday night mixed league with my wife and threw my spare ball (which happened to be a Black Knight) for that league and averaged 217. Granted it was a house league shot, but it was still a plastic ball when everyone else was throwing reactive resin.

Thanks for the uploads. You got me hooked on bowling again. Stopped playing 20 years ago when life happened. Just bought a 2nd hand ball and will hopefully get back to competitive form in a few months 🙏🏻

In my bag, I pack a pair of reactives (Hustle SAY and Ebonite Destiny Pearl), and one good ole' Brunswick Tzone.
I will usually start with my reactives, adjusting as I can to work with the lanes, but when I run out of room, I have 2 or 3 pretty reliable shots I use as my "go-to" allowing me to still hit strikes on almost any condition league night might throw at me.
Some nights, the plastic ball is the only one I'll use, because I can't get the reactives to hit the pocket.
Used to play league When I was 12 or 13 for 5 -6 years, and stop going cause the place shut down, But Darren, you are making me thinking about coming back to league and do this as a living, Been loving your content and the support you give to all other bowlers. I never had that support from bowling with other bowling centres, you are awesome!

It's amazing what u can do with entry level balls and some good grit on the ball. I put 500 on my tropical breeze once. It made a huge sweeping motion
Great bowling with plastic. I remember shooting 244 with a Storm ICE a few years ago. The lanes were super dry and nothing else would work.

Accuracy and rotation are key with any ball. There have been several generations of shell material and weight blocks, to the point where USBC (previously ABC) now only awards 1 300 ring lifetime. In each generation of ball technology, high scores and averages have increased dramatically. I recall the days where a PBA rep would need to inspect a lane when a 300 was bowled. My 1st 300 was in 1994 and I had used a urethane nitro. My first 800 series was in 2000 using a reactive piranha. As I have gotten older with arthritis and surgeries, I was not able to use the resin or 16 lb balls, so I now use a 14 pound plastic ball with a pancake weight block and I carry a 170+ average, which is not too bad considering issues with knee and hip.

That Storm Mix packs quite a punch for it only being a plastic ball! 👊
Thought it was poly and urethane mixture, but guess it's just urethane cover mixture I hit mine with 360 and can't even get mine to wrinkle. D Tang is legit 🔥🔥
It's actually a urethane ball, which is why when you use it for spares it won't skid past and chop if you miss slightly right on a right side combo spare.
If you were to surface it to 360 or 500, it would perform very similar to an old school urethane ball from the 80s, given the pancake weight block.

Going back a couple weeks this league season, in the video titled "I threw only urethane" they had a couple of girls at their table while bowling. I'd say it's likely they are dating

Tang your approach, slide, and swing looks soooo much more natural throwing this plastic ball. I notice in tourneys you get hitchy. And it’s weird to explain in a message haha
I have a Geico viz-a- ball same as the one you would see on tv the pros would use for spares. I sanded mine to 500 for old wood on broken down lane oil in the league I bowl in because we get what is left over from the league before. Best decision I have made. Then in Vegas this last June I bowled the jackpot classic and got the honor of bowling with the 2 pro bowlers tied with you Darren for the pros I want to meet a d bowl with in a tournament. Marshall Kent and ej tackett. And impressed them using my spare ball in team/ doubles and singles at 180 grit. Sadly I retired the Geico and have a old storm black gold spare ball with the pba plastic ball layout at 180 grit and loving it but not as much as the Geico .
