- Marco Island South Beach, beautiful place to go to the beach and a great place to fish. Marco island you can fish for Snook, Red and Black Drum, Spotted Sea Trout, Shark, Snapper, Grouper, Crevalle Jack, and the same old catfish. You can even find some amazing sea life. The snook at South Beach would not take the bait but they swam next to you in order to tease. Trying to catch a shark on a mono lead does not work well and I will have to upgrade to a metal lead.
Captain W. D. "Bill" Collier of Tennessee settled Marco island in 1870 creating clamming and fishing industries. He also built the "Olde Marco Inn on Palm Street in 1883. The Inna now serves as a popular restaurant and registration area for Olde Marco Island Inn & Suites. During the 1920 a railroad was built between the island and the mainland in which visitors from Miami used to travel to visit Marco Island's Crescent Beach. Today is not only a popular vacation spot but a home for many year-round and seasonal residents.

Beautiful Marco Island, right in front of the Sunset Grille/Paulo we shark fish down there I also work there
It is a beautiful place. I would like to get back down there at some point.
If you get out in that channel you can catch all kinds of stuff, makes me want to get back out there
Thanks for watching and get back out there😁
you should tighten your drag because when you reel in with drag so loose that the spool spins with the rotor, your line gets twisted making it more prone to wind knots and not cast as far
Good point, thank you!
i’ll be in Marco in May ☀️ can’t wait
Thank you for watching! You will like Marco island. Enjoy!
That wasn't a pompano, it was a blue runner. Lol
You are correct it was not a Pompano but a Jack 🙂
Bar jack
Hey where is a good place to park in that area near those rocks. Or do you have to walk far?
apologies for the late reply on this but there is parking near the south end. The only issue is that it is not a big parking lot so I would get there early or get there mid to late afternoon when people leave. The area is the southern part of Marco Island. Once you on the beach then walk South until you get to where the rocks are.
Cast net that snook! We can spilt the 5k 😀
That even is not easy. They move quick.
Blue runner Is excellent for live bait. Wait until you start catching mutton snapper grouper cobia you won't ever eat catfish again lol
I have used bluefish as bait but not blue runner. I almost had a shark with the bluefish but it tore the line. I am waiting to catch mutton, grouper and would love to catch cobia. We have stopped eating catfish but sail cat is not that bad. I tried using cat fish for bait but so far nothing touches it in the water either. :-)
Blue runner buddy,not a pompano
You are correct, it is a Jack Blue Runner. Watch the new video and tell us what the skinny fish it.
I can hear your drag stripping as you reel. That means your drag is too loose. Reeling against stripping drag does nothing but waste time and twist up your line making it weaker and more difficult to operate properly
Thank you! I normally do not leave it that loose but sometimes I forget. A lot of anglers on the pier will give differing opinions on loose drag.
Lol
Most of the work should be done with the pole not the reel pull up reel down
Thank you for watching. I understand what you are saying and thank you!
Not a pomp, its a blue
Your are correct, it is not a pomp but a Jack, Blue Runner. I was testing everyones ability to identify the fish. 😉😀
@@BeyondFishingFamily Genius and the blue runner is unregulation 😉😊🐠
@@lukeheero That is good to know. Sometime with the variety of the fish and many looking alike I wonder if they are ok to keep. I am learning and recognizing more than when we first started but it is a work in progress. 🙂
@@BeyondFishingFamily Blue runners are no size but you can keep 2 or 100 pounds with ever is greater 😁
@@lukeheero I will remember that, thank you!
Yankees
Thanks for watching! I am not a big fan of that team either. 😁
