I'm an old school BMX'er turned MTB'er returned BMXer on a big wheel SE Racing PK Ripper 27.5. I hit a pump track 1-2 days a week where I am. Love them!! I see little kids 3-4 years old all the time getting their start on the tracks. It's great to see.
I just found one of these at my local park, it looks like so much fun I have no idea how well I can handle it but I’m gonna try it. Gonna say it does not look beginner friendly though haha.
This was good entertainment. A beautiful treck. I wish you would have done more How-To content. Other that the definition of a pump track and that you don't pedal, there was nothing to learn. A missed opportunity for such a beautiful track and skilled rider.
You're really cool dude I didn't know you could do this stuff I'm actually really surprised you know how I do this because if I went on that I would have fallen immediately
does anyone have any tips for jumping when you have stiff fork and can't preload it very much. I can jump a little but I don't have much height or distance.
The stiffer the fork, the easier it is. More suspension just absorbs everything you do. It's about what you do with your body weight, and where you are on the takeoff.
Puse downward when getting into the pump, push arms to fork, padels same height(trail position) and knees bent. When you reach the leap release the tension and lean back abit, enjoy the flight 🤙
There are several videos on gmbn as well as other channels about learning to "bunny hop". It's the key to getting proper air also on constructed jumps. Search for that and good luck. :)
Rich - Benefit over a 26” wheel hard tail mtb or a dirt bike like your Canyon? Wanting to keep skills transferable to the trails but want also to enjoy the pump track sessions.
Why do people not wear elbow and knee protection as well as wrist guards? A fall on an asphalt track seems likely for a beginner and you could easily break something on the hard surface - I mean it's not dirt.
Went to a local pump track ... learned that I don't like the asphalt versions. I didn't wipeout or anything but refused to go all in becasue I didn't want to wipeout. I've had enough crashes on concrete for one lifetime. I have no problem tanking in the woods between trees or ona dirt pack. Seems like super strupid to build these things out of concrete. ... Oh yeah "but what about the scooters and roller blades and skateboards ..." that's what a skate park is for. Hell at least at a concrete skate park riding a bike the curvers and dips are spread out more and enough that it reduces the probability of eating asphalt.
This bike was really easy to assemble ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
The average working income in the UK doesn't produce enough disposable income for most families to purchase a bike that will last a kid longer than a week or two, and if your stuff is getting stolen all the time you won't bother buying that stuff anymore (bikes etc.), scooters are cheap enough for just about anyone to buy, and there's not much demand for black market razor scooters, so the theft risk is nil.

In every skate park, pump track or whatever, there is always a little boy on a scooter just getting in the way. Hahaha

Hope this ride wasn't part of Richs #30for30. 30km on a pump would be a bit knackering.
But why are there people with scooters there
Because (in the UK) they are free to use tracks and everyone is welcome.
