@@Risu_ thanks man! Also, there were a bunch of ties at this event because there were like 14 people that showed up playing security control lol. It was really weird, considering the format, but I don't think any of them placed higher than top 64
Chess clocks are hard to do unless its on a digital client. You cant just tick the turn players timer down because when opponents effects trigger/Aces that's when the timer should switch to the opponents side, doing that can cause a lot of confusion when a lot of effects are happening back and forth and I it think would lead to frustration if its not automated.
yeah there was a new TRM put out June 6 and this was the first event to put the new rules into place iirc. 3.4.2 in the doc states that we were required to play out the full swiss rounds and not until there was 1 undefeated left. -jorel
The online regional by PLAYTCG had this rule implemented as well, was my first regional and everyone assumed it would end but like round 4 they just dropped that lore so we sat for the full 9 rounds.
So I was at this event. The main reason nume did the best was because magnax. Think of a nightclub named top18, magnax is the bouncer and only let's numemons through. All the other decks either payed the bouncer or intimidated him to get in and everyone else is locked out. If didn't brick heavily in my second round I'd obliterate nume, but there was so much armor vaccine that just gatekeeps every other deck

@@Risu_ yeah 10000% I lose to anything blue really. I just got really lucky with my matchups. Better to be lucky than good. Played the odds for nume and yellow vax.
Congrats!! I love machinedramon but have always struggled to make a build that clicked. Feel like I come back to it every format. How did 18 lv 5’s fee during the tournament? Were you able to get your momentum built consistently?
Numemon is clearly bdif. I do think magna x is gate keeping the format. Now for numemon I think the Ukko speed helps a lot, but the monzaemon x dp drain and clearing ability is what makes the deck shine. Something I think people are forgetting in the count of how many bodies you need is that a second stack can go into a monzae x. Nume to rb1 monzae is 3m and -3k dp. If you have a rookie out from raising and go to a monzae x and play a digimon that’s -6k dp. So -9k dp. Then if you evo your lv 4 into a rb1 monzae that’s now -12k. To further thst if you go to monzae x and play a body that another -8k for a -20k dp drain.
I want to agree with the promo ukko being more of a problem, but bt-16 is what allows nume to be hyper consistent in seeing the pieces it needs. I also think the rise in venus is to help in the mirror and a way to shutdown any agression.
@Risu_ That is fair, but nume needs fewer pieces than other decks. So, any general consistency makes nume that much stronger compared to other decks. If we look back into the last set. nume not as oppressive in bt15. I think what led to that fact is that they had to pay cost to search/draw. usually slowing ukko down enough for other decks to compete. Now, it can completely skip that with the bt16 ukko.
It looks like they played a "mandatory" 8 rounds, which might be why a player with a draw won. Otherwise, I would expect to see an x-0-1 in second. I'd be interested to know if they did a similar mandatory round count to the recent online regional. All speculation on my part.
Since nume is going nowhere in the next sets it's safe to assume that if will be restricted in some way or form. I don't think ukkomon are the culprits here. They're exceptionally good and offer a boost in speed, but from the top decks only nume exploits them and i think we'd need to see how they do after restrictinf something else. I think gere would be a good hit because it hurts consistency a lot, numeX or monzeaX would outright knee the deck. Something else I'm starting to think is that etemon and/or valky could also be a real issue.
U literally just explained why the ukkos need to be hit. Because only nume exploits then. Hence why they are the tier 0 deck rn because they can abuse these cards in ways others cant
In my experience, numemon x is what makes the deck so mean. It allows you to play out a lvl 6 for free, and you can digivolve into ruin mode. That being said, I think cards like valkyrimon are horrible for the game, and it should never have been made in the first place. Valkyrimon ace is significantly worse than magnamon x, in my opinion. It's ability to completely shut down the opponent and prevent any ability to recover makes it an oppressive card. It can then digivolve into ruin mode, which will black out another two turns for the opponent. Most of my decks have answers to magnamon x. Most of my decks can be completely shut down by a well-timed valkyrimon.
Not wanting a generic, zero downside, low end card that fits into most decks gone, is pure cope. Also MagnaX is fine, just keep it out of 'yellow vax' at the least.
That's me at 14th with Nume! I'm finally on one of these reels, let's go!!!

All speculation on my part.
Looks like this is the new norm. It could be very possible that there was an undefeated player after Round 7 but they took a loss Round 8 :/
We had to play out the full 8 rounds. There was only 1 undefeated going into round 7.
@@bmendez369 gotcha. As digipanda mentioned, that means the undefeated potentially missed out on a win.
@@bmendez369 This was official with the last regional/ultimate cup from PlayTCG's end too. Moving forward, all rounds will be played out.
Yeah, the last ultimate cup and regional was played for the full amount of rounds
Unfortunately with the mandatory round count. It is more likely a person with a tie can win if the last undefeated took a loss during the last round.

Ukkos got to go man. Both of em
When people play so much of the same deck? It makes the format stale and boring.
Agreed, but if you are playing to win a tournament or an invite you play the best deck.
The numemon mirror match is BRUTAL. It’s a race to a valk ace stand off 🙄
