Hulk Hogan from Wish lmao that one got me. Always a joy to see someone discover these games, and especially this one in particular, for the first time. I can see from your streams that you're well into the game already, but there are certain key moments I'm looking forward to seeing, so I'll be keeping an eye out! I see you're going for the completionist approach too, and I want to say if you really do finish everything in this game then you've got one up on me. Even though I've replayed it several times and know plenty of optimal gem/skill link setups and how to use everyone, I always run out of steam when trying to do _every_ sidequest. Even so, it's definitely one of my favourite RPGs of all time so I'll be looking forward to seeing how your playthrough goes (if you ever manage to get through all the footage... I'm sure there's a lot!)
Knowing what I know now... Hulk Hogan from Wish is a generous title. But I'm glad if you got a laugh out of it! I might have to do New Game+ since I did miss some timed side quests from the refugee camp and I think some locations and unique monsters from places like Sword Valley, since I hadn't realized I should grab those too, not only equipment... Still I think it'll still be fun! This is definitely in my top 3 video game franchises now! I'll definitely get through it all. Albeit slowly since I have a tendency to do 8-12 hours streams since this game is impossible to put down.
Xenoblade fans see a blind first time playthrough, we stick through to the end. Hope you have fun with this! The game is ... a lot, but it's one of the best stories told in video games.
@@caffyline As for the order of the Xenoblade Chronicles series you don't need to play both the first *and* second game to follow the story of the 3rd game. There are heavy references to those games (such as Landmarks having the exact or close to the same name, Unique Monsters named the same as previous games) but no spoilers about XC1's or XC2's story except at the very end which has serious spoilers for their endings only if you've played XC1 and XC2 as they don't have any context to them.
Thanks for the info! I think I'm going to still play them in order as I've not bought Xenoblade 3 yet, but I had bought 1 and 2 on impulse during the Golden Week sale.
- Those UK accents happened because Nintendo of Europe was responsible for its translation and localization. - Xenoblade gameplay is often compared to MMORPGs, especially with how side quests are handled. - Welp, good thing you never have to see Mumkhar again! Still, kinda strange that he got so much screen time... - That's right - all the land is on and in the two titans. Sword Valley is LITERALLY inside Mechonis's sword. - The term for Shulk is "engineer". I know, not a common occupation for JRPG heroes. But it certainly explains his lack of social smarts.
Yeah I actually heard that they didn’t think it was going to be popular in the US so the English version was done in Europe instead. Honestly not a complaint but it definitely caught me off guard the first time. Ahaha Ah Mumkhar… if only. I love that living on titans was the starting point for this game. Have you seen the models made of them? Oh poor oblivious Shulk
Ohhh boy, yeah I looked it up... and I can't say I'm too surprised after living here for several years. Some names are questionable at best when translated from Japanese to English....
Watching people see Fiora die on their first gameplay is always so good lol That's where this game becomes peak fiction 1, don't forget to play peak fiction 2 and 3 too
I think it strikes just the right balance between silly and sending your heart through a paper shredder. You definitely need those lighter moments after the heavy ones!
Phew. I didn't expect Dunban to survive past the prologue. I figured it would be the classic situation of letting you have a taste of power with a different character at the start before that character dies and you start playing as the actual protagonist. When he appeared during the Mechon attack I thought "Oh, they were holding off so he could have a heroic sacrifice here and he will give Shulk the Monado in his dying breath." And that would instill a motivation for vengeance. Well, things didn't *quite* turn out like that. Props on the game for repeatedly catching me off guard.
@@caffyline Well yeah, like in this case the sequence of Fiora's death. And of course all the major plot twists to come, always love to see blind reactions. Such a great way to reexperience a game I first played in 2011 and played many times since. Looking forward to your reactions!
@@caffyline Xenoblade games are always an investment but they always accomplish a long story and world driven game that is something only Monolith Soft is seemingly capable of doing.
Ahhh it only took 300 hours, that’s not TOO bad. Nothing like the 1250 hours I sank into Hyrule Warriors, but honestly I like games like this that I can really delve into and lose myself in the world building, exploration, lore, and overall story.

A stream is most entertaining when the streamer him-/herself is entertained. ;-) Let me say this: You're in for an incredible journey!!! Look forward to XC1's story as well as XC2 and 3... ;-) You won't regret it, I promise!
Well, if one looks close enough, Xenoblade is all about death... ^^' Well, it's about the nature of humanity, but death is often used as a medium for this question.
I mean I did feel like I was going through the five stages of grief when going through the end of chapter 2. And I think there is a lot of themes in this game, but yes death is a very shocking and effective method of delivering ideas sometimes.
@@caffyline It is consistent in all three numbered games. :) I remember the time it released 2011. Everyone was all about "Nooo that game is too colorful and squishy" when in reality, we are talking about a really bleak world.
They reason why everyone is British sounding Australian is because we got the dub from the Europe version, because Nintendo of America thought no one would like the game but because of a petition we got this and a couple o other games into the Americas. So the only game to date that has an more US sounding voice would be X which would be a good game to play after this especially since the game doesn’t fit into the continuity of 1, 2, and 3.
Oh, wow! Thanks for the cool bit of info! I love learning random weird facts like this. But somebody smack Nintendo of America because HOW DARE they think people wouldn't like this absolute masterpiece of a game! Also I didn't even know about Xenoblade X so thank you for telling me of its existence! Hmmm an in response to your other comment I wonder if I can find it over here in Japan since used games are a big thing over here and I do have a Japanese Wii U.... however I think playing it in Japanese wouldn't be as satisfying since it's such a story heavy game. Shame. Will definitely look into emulating it then!
Oh so you started THIS game. Be prepared for an epic journey you'll never be able to forget. This is one of those special games. This is a classic in JRPGs and for good reasons. Remember these lines when you'll be at the end of the game. Enjoy !
Ha ! This is just a beginning, you can trust me on that. I would also advise doing Xenoblade 2 and 3 cause this whole franchise is amazing. Oh and don't forget the DLC for this one too.
Man, you are sooo close on close on your thoughts on the Face Mechon also Nintendo renamed Metal Face in the english version as his Japaneese name is Black Face.
Well I was trying to look at it from a writing perspective, they wouldn't show the scene where the Monado didn't cut Fiora without reason, and logically if it doesn't work on people and also doesn't work on Face Mechon....but as far as the specifics, there wasn't enough to go on. And yeah I've heard... so I'll accept Metal Face's new name as that's a MUCH better option.
And so it begins, I can’t wait until she gets to THAT part Also general rule about Xenoblade, if you are female in the Xenoblade Universe & your name isn’t Morag, your life sucks
Definitely only the beginning to a wild ride. I'm scared what 2 and 3 will have in store for me given how 1 is going.... And note taken, although I will have to wait to see who this Morag is....
@@caffyline The reason why there are so many different British accents in Xenoblade is because it was originally only available in the EU but thanks to Project: Rainfall, 3 EU exclusive Wii (as Xenoblade was originally for the Wii) games hit US shores Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower.
I'm a deltarune/undertale player, and I have a friend who spent 240 hours on the game, planning to try and play dis soon but the Toby fox combat system looks like 1st grade match in complexity tho 😂 compared to this😂😂😂
If you think metal face is bad or boring, you should look up what it's name in the Japanese version was, then you'll understand why its called Metal Face
is this some kind of trend between streamers to make yourself x5 times louder than voices in a game I'm like literally watching this on 100% volume, and forced to drop it to 20% each time the streamer talks just kinda -meh-, especially if you are not watching this alone OR doing it in a headset
The game sound is there, but for some reason towards the end, the game audio got significantly quieter. I didn't realize it had happened until after the fact since I could still hear it fine while playing. Something wonky with OBS that day. And as I only had it output onto one track not much I can do sadly. I'm still learning so some hiccups are to be expected.
Thanks for being understanding! I thought I had at least a small inkling to what I was doing since I've streamed awhile just to do something out of my comfort zone, then for fun, and just recently as a more serious hobby. However, in actually going back to watch my videos in order to cut them down for RUclips, I realized just how much I have to learn about so many, many things when it comes to both video and audio. But I'm learning little by little, and just trying to have fun along the way!

Still the developers of this game did a great job of balancing giving you enough info to theorize but not enough that don't lose your intrigue.
But thanks for the kind words, I'll do my best to keep at it and improve!
53:00 what happens behind dunban's house STAYS behind dunban's house!
Ahahaha, I just realized that at the time I didn't realize that was Dunban's house. Plot twist, dude is meeting up with Dunban?
1:42:34 - "That is all I ask. Believe me, I am always just trying to understand" - such powerful words from Dunban, gives me chills everytime!
Dunban is always doling out the words of wisdom.
Welcome to the world of Xenoblade!
Xenoblade fans see a blind first time playthrough, we stick through to the end. Hope you have fun with this! The game is ... a lot, but it's one of the best stories told in video games.
It is a lot, but in the best way possible. I'm just hoping I'm not horribly disappointed by other games after playing these gems.
The downside of watching a Blind LP is how painful it is seeing them trying to figure it out in the beginning when you've cleared the game yourself.
Yo. Your theories are delightful.
How right or wrong am I? Only time will tell, but I'm hoping all those literature classes I had to take in university haven't completely failed me.
I’m so here for anyone to play xenoblade
Metal face is a better name than the original Japanese name… trust me
Ohhh boy, yeah I looked it up... and I can't say I'm too surprised after living here for several years. Some names are questionable at best when translated from Japanese to English....
Watching people see Fiora die on their first gameplay is always so good lol
That's where this game becomes peak fiction 1, don't forget to play peak fiction 2 and 3 too
I am going to play all the peak fiction. Honestly, the storytelling and pacing in this game is just, mwah, chef's kiss.
Xenoblade is at once corny and super serious, especially in 1.
I think it strikes just the right balance between silly and sending your heart through a paper shredder. You definitely need those lighter moments after the heavy ones!
can i just say i absolutely love your hair! it looks so soft and shiny! i can see you put great care in it
Oh thank you so much, but honestly I can't take credit for it. I just try to mess with it as little as possible.
I am so glad they didn’t kill off Dunban. I honestly thought the same but luckily we had our dad of sass throughout!
As soon as I see someone playing this for the first time I immediately sub and watch at least the important parts xD
Well I thank you for it!
And by the most important parts do you me the parts that punch people in the face and then rip out their heart? XD
@@caffyline Well yeah, like in this case the sequence of Fiora's death. And of course all the major plot twists to come, always love to see blind reactions.
Such a great way to reexperience a game I first played in 2011 and played many times since. Looking forward to your reactions!
I love watching people's first playthroughs of my favourite game series
I'm so glad you’re enjoying watching my playthrough! Which game is your favorite?
@@caffyline definitely the first game , i played it way back when it first came out on the Wii , the games very sentimental to me
This is an excellent series. I always enjoy watching new people playing it! Have fun with it. It's such a classic! 🙌
I have had a blast with this game! Thanks! I can't wait to play the next two!
@@caffyline I haven't sunk that much into Hyrule Warriors lol but it was still a decent amount of time. Besides Xenoblade, I have sunk bonkers time In Fire Emblem Three Houses and Zelda games.
Yeah I have 600 hrs in total in BotW, and I have three houses but haven’t played it yet so oh no, I’m afraid. I’m gonna def have to wait on that game until after TotK then.
Happy gaming from Greece i love xenoblade series
Thank you from Japan! And it's a great series to be sure!
It's too awesome watching the first playthrough of Xenoblade, I insta followed you looking for more. I saw in comment you're already quite ahead in the story, I hope you're loving and you'll love it as much as I do. Enjoy
I'm glad you're enjoying it, and yes, yes I am! This is definitely in my top game franchises ever now! I can't wait to play the second and third games!
@@caffyline The third is an excellent title! I've finished it a month ago (waiting for the DLC post story on December 31st 2023) and a character from both XC1 and XC2 will return.
Ah the start of this game, what a glorious beginning to a grand adventure. Enjoy the ride, for all the twists and turns it throws at you.
Thank you! There's so many turns it'll give you whiplash! But that's the fun of it!
Welcome to Xenoblade, my fav game series ever, I love all of them :D
How could anyone not love them? They’re amazing!
Definitely a rising star among the current RUclipsrs. Keep up the great work! ;-)
Wow, that's quite the compliment, thank you! I'll keep trying to make the best videos I can! As long as I can entertain some people and keep meeting such awesome people from the equally awesome communities of these games, I'll be happy!
@@caffyline Awesome! :-) But I think I need to alter my previous comment: I shouldn't say "Keep up the great work!". I should say: Simply enjoy this game as much as you can! :-) I really love it to see people enjoying a game that I totally adore, especially Xenoblade. A stream is most entertaining when the streamer him-/herself is entertained. ;-)
Let me say this: You're in for an incredible journey!!! Look forward to XC1's story as well as XC2 and 3... ;-) You won't regret it, I promise!
OH THIS IS GONNA BE GOOD
Well, if one looks close enough, Xenoblade is all about death...
Yeah there is quite a bit of death so far in this game, enough I'm afraid to get too attached to anyone.
Have fun with all Xenoblade games
I'm going to have a blast, have my heart broken, and have all my time stolen by these games!
Btw, X isn’t in stores because it was a Wii U made game but you can emulate it pretty good.
@@caffyline you’re welcome.
Ayy, my childhood.
I wish my childhood had had this epicness in it!
Looking forward to your reactions!
Thanks! This game is certainly a wild ride, that throws you for a loop whenever you think you've just got a hold on things.
41:03 because she's lost control of her life
"I wasn't expecting these accents."
Then get ready for the dubs of XC2 and XC3.
Ahaha, well I've gotten used it it by now, and I think the voices suit them very well, it just caught me off guard to start!
@@caffyline I just meant that they go all out with all of the English accents in them.
Ah, well that fine! I think it’s a nice bit of variety from most games!
Oh so you started THIS game. Be prepared for an epic journey you'll never be able to forget. This is one of those special games. This is a classic in JRPGs and for good reasons. Remember these lines when you'll be at the end of the game. Enjoy !
I have started THIS game. And oh I have definitely enjoyed it even if it has given my emotions whiplash like no other game before it!
Ha ! This is just a beginning, you can trust me on that. I would also advise doing Xenoblade 2 and 3 cause this whole franchise is amazing. Oh and don't forget the DLC for this one too.
I've already finished Future Connected and loved every second! Just getting a few games out of my roster before jumping into Xenoblade 2!
Very happy to hear that ! Of course many other games also deserve some attention and it's good to vary the genres you play.
you deserve more subs
Awww, you're sweet! Thanks!
Welcome to Xenoblade
Thank you! I'm so glad I impulsively bought this during the Golden Week sale! I might consume my life now though...
@@caffyline such is the reality of Xenoblade
Man, you are sooo close on close on your thoughts on the Face Mechon also Nintendo renamed Metal Face in the english version as his Japaneese name is Black Face.
Well I was trying to look at it from a writing perspective, they wouldn't show the scene where the Monado didn't cut Fiora without reason, and logically if it doesn't work on people and also doesn't work on Face Mechon....but as far as the specifics, there wasn't enough to go on.
And yeah I've heard... so I'll accept Metal Face's new name as that's a MUCH better option.
And so it begins, I can’t wait until she gets to THAT part
Also general rule about Xenoblade, if you are female in the Xenoblade Universe & your name isn’t Morag, your life sucks
Definitely only the beginning to a wild ride. I'm scared what 2 and 3 will have in store for me given how 1 is going....
And note taken, although I will have to wait to see who this Morag is....
@@caffyline She's a great character (She's from Xenoblade 2). I really hope you enjoy it when you eventually get to it.
Yep, they all have a raw deal.
Omgomg ARE YOU DOING 2 AND EVENTUALLY 3 AFTER THIS?
Oh definitely. 100% This is in my top best video game franchises ever list now and I must experience every bit of it I can.
@@caffyline just PLEASE make sure you upload those too 😁
I 100% will also do that!
I'm a deltarune/undertale player, and I have a friend who spent 240 hours on the game, planning to try and play dis soon but the Toby fox combat system looks like 1st grade match in complexity tho 😂 compared to this😂😂😂
*math*
* * darn these dumb typos 😒
If you think metal face is bad or boring, you should look up what it's name in the Japanese version was, then you'll understand why its called Metal Face
Oh dear, yes I have heard, and I must agree Metal Face is definitely the better option.
is this some kind of trend between streamers to make yourself x5 times louder than voices in a game
I'm like literally watching this on 100% volume, and forced to drop it to 20% each time the streamer talks
just kinda -meh-, especially if you are not watching this alone OR doing it in a headset
wtf is wrong with the sound, we can't hear the game
The game sound is there, but for some reason towards the end, the game audio got significantly quieter. I didn't realize it had happened until after the fact since I could still hear it fine while playing. Something wonky with OBS that day. And as I only had it output onto one track not much I can do sadly. I'm still learning so some hiccups are to be expected.
@@caffyline yeah no problem, if you're still new to this, I myself have no clue how this works
