As a lifelong DM/GM my personal favorite feeling is when presenting the narrative and my players speculate a conclusion that I'd never remotely considered, but realize is infinitely cooler that what I'd prepared, then adjusting my presentation to fulfill that player speculation so my players get that rush of deducing the plot. It's like the players have introduced me to a secret in the story and I get the privilege of presenting it back to them as the audience. It's communal and beautiful and one of the reasons I've done this for 43 of my 54 years on this rock in space.
@@superpheemy this has basically been the origin of the big bag in the three D&D campaigns I've finished (as in made it to level 17+ and concluded a story and we all started a new campaign with new characters after). Also, my current campaign a random side "b" story might actually become this huge problem later and it's so fun.

This is probably the first time in my life in which the people actually look like how I imagined they would from their voice
I appreciate these people so much and glad that they will still be around in some capacity or another. I’m far from caught up on midst but jumped to the end to hear the announcement and this format seems like a perfect middle ground. Having Xen live perform the soundtrack to the sessions alone is such a cool way to present this type of storytelling. Definitely will be checking this out and I hope the shift in presentation brings some more critters on board.

I feel like Liam and Xen could just sit together talking for hours and have a blast. They sound like similar souls at a glance.
The first time I heard that Xen made the music themselves and even improvised some of it I was absolutely amazed, it's so frickin good! Generally, the fact that a lot of what you all did is improvised is incredible. The acting and storytelling of Third Person is fantastic :3
For me personally, season 2 was my favorite. I really liked how the world expanded, with Phineas' heroic opening in the first episode, his ride with Lark and Tzila, the Terror on Midst, the Lazerto and everything that happened there, the introduction of the baron, Moc being introduced into the Trust and growing to like the power and privelage, him being betrayed by Imelda, so many great moments!
For me, somehow a lot of these setups felt a little cooler than the eventual payoffs in season 3, but only slightly. Overall, this was an incredible ride and I enjoyed every part of it. Thank you all so much. Really looking forward to Moonward :3

Hands down one of my favorite pieces of media that I've listened to. It's rare to get a podcast that reaches this level of audio and narrative excellence. How wonderful to put faces to voices!

I loved Midst and it’s so great to actually meet the voices and creators in the flesh. What an amazing tale of love, honor, loyalty, betrayal, and community.
Third Person is such a talent. Thanks you all for putting together such an amazing story. Some of my favorite moments:
-The final dialogue between Saskia and Weepe *chef’s kiss
-When Baron Kozma Laszlo makes her first appearance in her submersible. Xen, the music for that moment was perfect. I played it over and over.
-When Baron Kozma Lazslo had her dinner with The Trust and was an absolute badass.
-Every single moment of Lark. Such a wonderful anti-hero.
-When Atticus Concord is killed by Weepe. The tension in the moment was done so well and both answered questions about Weepe and created questions about Weepe that was immensely interesting.
Thank you for putting together such a magnificent episodic tale. I loved it. I was never bored. I hung on every word. I waited impatiently for each new episode to drop. I look forward to hearing more from Third Person
All three of your voices are so good, I would listen to the three of you read from a dictionary. Bravo and Brava!

HOW did they not bring up the hysterical and brilliantly played "intimate scene" between Weepe and Imelda?! It was so genius.
Midst is one of the few truly creative things that I've seen/listened to. The synthesis of the storytellers with each other and the story is glorious. Keep up the good work!
36:28 I am a bit surprised that no one, not even Kozma, took the opportunity to thumb the nose at the most Valorous by showing up to a function in Imogen Loxlee's Gala dress, but in Caenum. Would have been a real statement.

Midst is superb story telling, and I thank 3rd person and Critical Role for bringing it to us! I'm holding out for Midst to be translated into a book series. I'm shocked to see how views dropped off over the season and it's flabbergasting, because this series is amazing.

@jeccalou9894 I'm guessing that Sam was supposed to be there, since he and Marisha were always the ones plugging Midst during CR, but due to his treatment he wasn't going to be able to be there when this talk was filmed, so they had Liam step in.
I feel like Lark would... um... "sing", "I'm only happy when it rains" by garbage, but you know, more just gruffly speak the words to it, but during the chorus you can almost hear her actually singing a little bit as she get into the moment.
Thank you so much for the incredible experience that was Midst, and I absolutely can't wait for Moonward, I'm already so excited!
This will forever live in my mind. One of my favorite stories, one of my favorite universes I've ever come across. I can't wait to see what ya'll do next and hope to hear more Midst Cosmos stories.
Xen's expressions are so rich and captivating, their eye make up is such a fit. All of Third Person are peak nerd attractiveness, its kinda how i pictured them haha. I only thought Sara wouldve been a redhead
Third person, not only do sound amazing and look amazing, but you also created an amazing piece of art.
Midst will always have a special place in my heart. It is stiff baffling to hear how much of this wonderful story and music is improvised.

"I am so Lark" will be my new answer to everything I must evade at all cost. The part of Lark simply imagining karaoke ... The thoughts going through my head before they were spoken out loud were exactly the same. My head was empty of any songs. I started to consider killing everybody, too.

This series is amazing, I was surprised because for the longest time I didn’t want to listen but once I gave episode one a chance I was hooked! I remember listening the first season back to back because it was already out when I started and then waiting impatiently for season two. Love you guys!!

Edit: just finished the video and honestly everything about Midst and its creators is so interesting to me and they are great people with great creative abilities. Definitely looking forward for Moonward. No idea what to expect but i guess that's the point. Midst is one of the best stories i ever heard, and the fact that it came to be the way it did is just insane.

As much as I loved Midst, I was very happy with the way that it ended. Extremely satisfying narratively speaking. The only thing that would sour that note is if they had come out and said that they were done after that. I don't care what comes next, same universe with different story, different universe different story, hell different universe same story if they thought they could pull that off, as long as they're doing SOMETHING, I'm happy.
Thank you, you beautiful people on giving us Midst, it was absolutely fantastic to follow the story throughout these three seasons. Original, captivating, emotional, I really don't have enough adjectives to express myself fully. It was really exciting to see you for the first time, and I can't wait to see everything you have in store.

Really fun roundtable. i've experienced a lot of storytelling and midst is truly something different and special. But also, as third person has described it, deeply human. Just kids playing make believe but on obviously high level. I'm very thankful i got to experience it and i send to all of you my love and appreciation. looking forward too moonward!

As an avid listener of his podcast on Spotify, I had no idea this was uploaded on RUclips, so I'd never seen the narrators faces.
I always thought there were just two people doing all the voices, so a 3rd person being here surprised the hell out of me. Plus, Sarah (Lark) looks nothing like I imagined her. I loved every minute of this story and I'm really sad it ended. I hope there's another brewing in the future.
