The fact that Jacob exploded not once, but twice and then got the second highest digit on the die. (So if he had failed a roll even just once before he could’ve made it explode AGAIN.)

Just delighted by the idea of players playing dual characters. Just a fun concept
If you are at all into playing a TTRPG you should check out DIE.
It's actually really similar to the premise of this campaign.
The players create ordinary people to play as, and then create their RPG characters with powers and abilities, and then they play as their ordinary people TRAPPED in the bodies of their RPG characters.
DIE RPG works similarly, your persona is in the body of your paragon
Three characters if you think about it. There are their present day characters, the movie characters themselves, and the hybrid of the two.

@@schorfactor7000 I think it also sort of happens in GUMSHOE. Or rather, each character has two sets of abilities, so some people adapted it into a version where two different characters played by the same player have the same set (while in NSBU, the "real" persona doesn't affect the mechanics). And it’s easy to do in FATE.
Also, "troupe style play" is a pretty old thing a lot of people and systems do. It's how a lot of people played OD&D, even.

Starstruck was such a number crunching fantasy with a bunch of powergamers. This system seems to aim for that without overwhelming the players
Im over halfway through Starstruck and it doesn't seem number crunchy at all... isn't it just the SW system from Fantasy Flight? If it's the old SWRPG system, then that's still just a reskinned dnd 3.5E @Spigele

I love anything Jacob is in. So hyped to see him this season.

@@SgtKaneGunlock no it’s not. Last action hero already has people going into a movie. Adding a Jumanji (aside from the argument about the original Jumanji being stuff coming out into the real world) is just being redundant.
@@gibberishname It absolutely isn't redundant. The Last Action Hero doesn't involve characters inhabiting the bodies of other characters. The Last Action Hero isn't an ensemble cast but rather has a single protagonist. The Last action hero isn't about solving the mystery of the world in order to return to their own. Both Jumanji and this campaign has pretty clear up-front premises about being types of games, even within their own universe. "Getting sucked into an action movie" are just the trappings, not the story or world structures or the characters' relation to them.
Think you SERIOUSLY need to watch the next episode where the cast themselves also call it Jumanji lmao

Didn't really "make" a whole game system for her, its been used in previous campaigns too like Mentopolis.
Alex brings such incredible awkward energy, they killed it in Mentopolis and Kingskin might just top that!

OK I know some talented animators are already pickings scenes to make animations of, I'm begging for a "Step behind this door" animation, it's the perfect combo of hilarious and genuinely threatening.
Synopsis (abridged): group of work friends centering around a mall video rental place get Jumanji'd into a VHS of an action flick, sort of similar to Last Action Hero.

My absolute sorrow that Zac is not in this season with Izzy to give us more of their magical interactions from Coffin Run is tempered by how awesome this looks!

Oh man this is gonna be a great season. I love seeing a cast brought together that we don't always see a lot. Most of this cast I've only seen in one or two seasons and loved them all. Great to see Jacob joining the dome too, I am loving the energy he brings with Dang. Also I like how when Brennan was describing our Awesome Action Heroes getting sucked into Never Stop Blowing Up, Jacob was mimicking the classic 'falling down the rabbit hole' motion, it's exactly what I was thinking.
Also I can tell the production value has gone up between these last couple seasons I've watched. Getting these longer, super stylistic intros, the live backgrounds inside the dome, and now these cool animatics during certain action scenes? You spoil us. The dome has always been a magical place but I'm glad to see the show growing, and Dropout investing in it more, even if at the end of the day it might not be "necessary". It's like the toppings that enhance the rich story telling ice cream of Brennan and the gang, turning it into a delicious sundae of art. Just wanted to give a shout out to the totally radical job everybody bts in the production crew is doing.

I know this is a bold claim, but so far I think this is one of the funniest seasons yet. Episode 2 had me wheezing laughing the entire episode. Just an absolutely perfect cast!

I had my friend watching this yesterday on Dropout during a car trip, and he was kinda relaxing, eyes closed because we both get car sick if we look at screens while moving too long, but as soon as he heard "THAT'S COCAINE." he doubled over laughing.
They really added in all those fan animatics that people keep doing of all their fun moments!

Ify and Jacob were two players I didn't expect. But it's always the people you least expect who think outside the box and hit you with a nice surprise. Would love to see more of them in future campaigns.

After watching the trailer, I knew this would be an interesting season but I wasn't really sold until watching this episode. Holy moly. Stick around for the animation at the end folks, I hope that continues throughout the season because it's such an amazing touch for something like this where I imagine there won't be mini sets but we'll see!!
