I love your podcast!! And also your recommendations. I really enjoy these kinds of movies, where you don't know exactly what's going on, and it's necessary to watch it again and again to figure out the meaning. And every time you watch it, you discover different details and things you missed the first time. I think they have a lot of merit and are very well thought out. My list of pending films keeps growing and growing and growing... :)
Finally, a list where i can mention something you guys missed that is incredibly underrated. It's called "We Need to do Something." Its a single room psychological horror film that really gripped me with its mind fucky nature. Thank you guys for making the art form of film so approachable
Great episode! A few more I was thinking about while listening: Enemy, The Killing of the Sacred Deer, A Moment of Innocence, Taste of Cherry, The Skin I Live In, Martyrs, Titane, Naked Lunch, Tetsuo: The Iron Man, Belle de Jour, Under the Skin, Crash (1996), The Substance, Kinds of Kindness, and El Topo
I’m in sales (outside sales) and I drive all day long. This podcast is what is constantly playing in my truck all day long. Thanks for being the GOATs and keeping me entertained
Love "Vanilla sky"will forever be one of my favorites with a fantastic soundtrack by Sigur Ros and maybe best montage of "your life moments" absolute top movie. Mr. NOBODY is also a good movie with many interesting things. "Arlington Road" also has a great ending 1999
If you asked me a few weeks ago I would say Fight Club was my favorite. Until I saw The Prestige, was absolutely mesmerized and hooked with everything about it.
I loved this episode! Mulholland Drive is David Lynch's best film in my opinion! I have seen several video essays explaining the true meaning behind it, as well as trying to piece it together myself. I love that Lynch purposely never fully explained the meaning behind it, leaving it up to the audience to figure it out themselves. I feel like when you realize what I think he was trying to tell us (what really goes on in hollywood and the prices you will pay to make it big) you will be blown away at his genius! Some other great films that could fit in the list are the Others, Enemy, Eyes wide shut, the Gift (2015), and We need to talk about Kevin!
Idk if this video has a movie poster giveaway in it but I keep going through the back log of wonderful videos so from now on I’m just commenting on every video even the old ones lol
Great list. There are more than a few Ive never seen. Id like to add the Usual Suspects. Its a complete reveal that begs a re watch. Its not until a bout 2/3 through the film that KZ is even mentioned. Fantastic. The Handmaiden was indeed great. Not what I was expecting at all. Refreshing.
I just subscribed to the youtube today! A movie like this that stuck with me is, Psychomania directed by Don Sharp. i believe it was the last movie George Sanders made. Just a wild disturbing ride.
I just introduced your pod cast to my friend and he watched this episode for his first experience, and then James goes ahead and spoils "Get Out" for him, THAT HE HADN'T WATCHED YET, and now i cannot get him to stop crying! Clearly not everyone has watched "Get Out", James! Consider this UNSUBSCRIBE TIMES TWO! 😂😂😂
🦇💩 movies, the more bonkers the better, are one of the things I live for so this episode was a slam dunk. My list would have included In the Mouth of Madness, A Scanner Darkly and Altered States but if our lists synced up 100% it might cause a rift in the space-time continuum and who wants that shit. A couple short film recommendations: La Jetee (inspired 12 Monkeys) Lux Aeterna (Gaspar Noe) Once Within a Time (from director of Koyaanisqatsi) Keep It positive! 🤯🤩
@@raidersofthelostpodcast_ Sorry I’m double dipping here but this exceptional episode got me fired up to make my own list and I somehow forgot MAD GOD despite owning it on Blu-ray (with audio commentary by Guillermo Del Toro). Stunning film!
Cool list guys. Sometimes it’s good to be confused by a movie, certainly on first watching. I love rewatching movies like that - Oftentimes, they can be more enjoyable the second or third time round. And then there are some movies where you’re still thinking wtf after many viewings - Not necessarily a bad thing either.
I watched Memento for the first time last year and that led me to this podcast! (But it was watching the Butterfly Effect where I fell in love with moviefilm flicks cinema and kino!)
I've been a movieposters customer for years now. Was happy to see you guys are partners with them. I'd love to add to collection for free. Current collection: Pulp Fiction Fear and Loathing in LV A Clockwork Orange Texas Chainsaw (original) Natural Born Killers

Yes, Boys! One of the best type of films by far! Nolan excels at these, but Predestination & Lost Highway are my favorite mind-fucks, besides Inception. "Mind-fuck" is the best genre❤️❤❤ and confusing DOES NOT mean bad!

Completely unrelated... But I have an emphatic movie recommendation. A movie I had to order on DVD to be able to rewatch is now available to stream on Prime Video. Blake Edwards is one of the comedy kings as a director and John Ritter was one of the greatest physical comedians of my lifetime. This movie came out before comedies got handcuffed. It is a one of the greatest comedies of its time (along with Blind Date and SOB). John Ritter's physical comedy has me laughing out loud throughout the runtime. The foreign film Timecrimes is fucking outstanding.
Idk if yall mentioned this one yet or not but I would say the movie Stay (2005) starring Ryan Gosling is pretty trippy.
