  • My schedule prevents me from doing a live show this Wednesday, so we've got a pre-recorded conversation with Josh Slatten, Executive Director of The Coalition, where we discuss our projects, plans for the future, and why we all joined together to preserve and protect history. Join in on the live chat and, Lord willing, I'll catch ya'll next week!

Great conversation. I never even thought about the whereabouts of Olinger's grave. I figured since he was a lawman there would be no question as to where he was buried. Very cool that Josh is certain he's found it.

MAG did the Windy Cahill headstone.

That statement, unqualified, seems to give MAG more credit in this instance than I believe he warrants. I do not think he initiated it, funded it, or did the requisite research required to locate it, or the communication with the property caretakers/owners.
If by “MAG did it” you mean drove the stone out there and took selfie-videos the whole time, then yes, that’s correct.
But Josh would have to speak more on the level of MAG’s involvement.
As it stands, I regret that he was involved in anything we ever did, and I’ll always do my best to not bring him up.

Navydogs if you’d like to discuss MAG’s involvement further, you can email me at James.Townsend@btkcoalition.com

James is correct, MAG was just the stone delivery guy.

Were you offended that we didn’t mention him? After scapegoating us as the reason Billypalooza was canceled, and implying we were bullies etc., I’d rather not mention him at all. He has alienated many people who once considered him a “friend” (as far as that goes online). Not many folks left who will work with him or join him as a guest on his (currently defunct but who knows) show. This is why research and serious discussion has dropped considerably on his channel, and there is only discussion of his own books and (when ATB was active) billy photos and young guns 3 updates.
No offense intended at all, here, Navydogs, because you’ve always been an active and awesome participant in the community: but the way you worded this comment kind of felt like you were going for a “mic drop” moment where you were trying to give MAG some credit that you may have thought we slighted him of.
The truth is, there’s a lot of unspoken narrative here that affects a few different people, and we only neglect to mention that fellow because he has demonstrated qualities that we want absolutely nothing to do with.
If I misinterpreted the intent of your initial comment I apologize. Again, I’ve always respected your presence both there and here!
