    subbed right away! love your energy man. you're one of the few that really is critical in terms of comparing shoes. unlike the majority of the reviewers that always concludes to "it all comes down to personal preference" like I get that but this format is something fresh. more power to you!!

    I tried on the Cielo X1 in Covent Garden, and the laces had come undone before I’d reached the other side of the shop 😂

      When I do my laces… I have to really concentrate to get them undone. Fair enough through, as we all have different experiences but apart from the issues I highlighted in my detailed review, I can’t fault the shoe at all

    The Cielo x1 gives the most Hoka'esque feeling I've ever felt. Even more than the orginal Hokas from a decade ago. It literally is the big rolling "cambered" "ski" that Hoka set out to design that helped you "fly"... all those early concept drawings are literally executed in the Cielo x1. Google some of the ealry Hoka concepts from the late 2000s and you'll see what I mean (this sounds like a video I should do, 🤔)That being said...I will likely cover the Rocket x3 (whenever that is)...I'm still on the fence about the Cielo x1.
    Your review/comparison format is really coming into it's own Aubrey...great pacing in this one.

      So sorry I didn’t dwell on this. I do go into detail in their respective review videos but yeah the rocket x2 isn’t true to size for me. I went half size up.

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  10 месяцев назад +1

      Not at all… this is a good shoe because it does all those paces very well. I actually enjoy it in the slower runs. Normally the stability would become an issue but that’s what the winged plate helps with. I just would advise walking in these at all.
      With that said, other runners would complain about it being heavy but this perfectly fine for me

  • @dmleibo
    @dmleibo 10 месяцев назад +1

    Your conclusion is kind of what I expected and there’s something I’m starting to see lately - many other reviewers don’t spell-out or even recognize their own biases when rating a shoe. It’s just like or dislike. Your approach - and a couple other channels I’ve found - seems to take the extra step to see who might prefer a shoe even if it’s not for you. Example - another reviewer completely slammed the Brooks Hyp Elite 4 and also called anyone who buys it an idiot (paraphrasing). I happen to love the shoe and I’m also not an idiot which means there is an audience for it that he didn’t take the time to even imagine - instead it was “me no like so nobody can like”. Same reviewer wasn’t sold on the Cielo X1 as a race shoe because of the weight - though he recognized the comfort and propulsion of it. You seem to put a lot more thought into your evaluations and I really hope your channel continues to grow and grow. Love it and thank you so so much.

      What he does is not so much a 'review' as it is a 'breakdown', he 'deconstructs' and offers helpful guidance on what you're getting into in acquiring a shoe, all important & valued mindful of costs. He might be the best on the planet doing this. Most of his commentary applies to everyone whereas actual reviews after 100 miles or so have numerous variables affecting the experience of the shoe (runner weight, running & foot striking style, foot shape, running surface, etc) they're actually 'narrow-casted'.
