You actually have pretty good control of the ball. Some tips: 1) If you jump again shortly after jumping you can do a quick boost in any direction. Holding back is a full stop. 2) You can boost after jumping. You can use this to fly around for short periods of time, and you can maximize boosting over long distances since you maintain momentum until you land. 3) Toggle between "Ball View" and a free camera to aim better. When you get close having it on ball view can make it really hard to track where you're at in relation to the ball. Keep playing; it's a fun one to watch.
