    Serapis is more than BAPHOMET statue. However it's true that his facial characteristics are the ones that we recognized in Jesus. But, yes. It is true that Christian New testament has been invented. Moreover it has not coherence.

      @joaomartins9800 2 года назад +4

      Serapis was associated with Hades because the Greeks believed Osiris was the egyptian equivalent of Hades (both are gods of the underworld, vegetation and riches of the earth), so both gods were seen as the same. Serapis was frequently referred as both husband of Isis (like Osiris) and eldest son of Kronos (like Hades). Later, he incorporated aspects from other gods, like Dionysus (who was associated with Osiris too), Zeus (because of his prominence) and even Helios.

    Actually there's a theory that this so-called god was Imhotep.... Actually Joseph son of Jacob.... Also called eshtamun .... The Egyptian people used to turn important great people into gods.... After death.... As for the name sarapis it's a very corrupted version of the title of the man and what he did for eygpt... In Hebrew it's "sar piyes" or "the lord saved/ calmed" and the Serapis symbol is a bull Joseph or Yosef was blessed by Jacob/yacov that he was like a bull..... For the full thing look at rabbi zamir Cohen on hidabrut.....

    They are similar in that both are an amalgamation of legends, beliefs, mythologies mixed with some actual facts. Serapis is an ideology, a created god representing a real man/king Ptolomy hoping to unite Egyptians and Greeks. The Romans under Constantine wanted to unite their people using elements of Greek mythology, Egyptian ideologies and Roman ideologies and created their own Christ, Jesus. The Romans won in the game religious domination but then again both Greek and Romans fused their mythologies hence Christianity is the most blended amalgamation of beliefs mythologies and even cultures...aka, welcome to Burger King "have it your way" there's something on the menu just for you...

      I'd disagree, Osiris and Apis had already combined (Hence the name Ser-Apis) long before the rise of the Ptolemies, and seems to have had a local following in the old neighbourhood near Alexandria making it a convenient patron for the new dynasty due to the local importance at the capital, the connections to the Egyptian religion via Osiris and the parallels to Hellenistic culture.
      Its like if an army took over Athens and started worshipping a version of Athena, but described in their own cultural framework

    To the creator of this video: Do you have any surviving images of Osarapis, reflecting early worship. I have noted that a temple dedicated to Zeus on some island (whose namely I sadly forgot) included buried tablets in bad condition, dumped at a site near the temple itself. Incredible redesign. Zeus would be happy. Lol.

      Macedonians did not consider themselves Greek. Like Texans often talk like they are not American. South is like that. Ethically, speaking some Jews consider being Jewish more important. Christians from Christian sects sometimes identify themselves as only be Christians. Macedonians considered most Greeks as effeminate & weak. Other ethnicities were even weaker. Alexander had serious trouble from his fellow Macedonians, when he dressed up as an Egyptian pharaoh. They thought he was pretending to be a God, although they often compared him to a god but hero would be more appropriate. The heroes of Greece were often half-gods which came with special powers. Pretty much like thinking Alexander is Spider-man or he is one of the X Men. But dressing up as an Egyptian god made them flip out. He was eventually almost killed by a group of tremor boppers in Persia, where he had dressed up as a Persian satrap. They thought he was forgetting he was Greek constantly. You can blame this on Aristotle who constantly went on about Greek superiority and went on about how Greeks were masculine.
      Read Homer’s “The Iliad”, Paris is called a prancing man. The Trojans are always portrayed as weak. The Killer Achilles could not be defeated because he was Greek.
      Her use of the phrase of “Macedonians and Greeks” shows she has a classical knowledge. Even non-Greeks use the very same phrase often just for preserving translation. Americans always put themselves as the only people in a paragraph. Brits and French just list themselves first.
      I remember a major train crash in India where they only listed Americans killed or injured. It took them over a week to list Indian casualties that were much greater.
      Look at news stories on plane crashes. You will think no one else died or they got the cheap seats.
      “Macedonians and Greeks” is classical presentation.
