(We've been fans of HP Business Laptops for a while, as they are well built, and reliable; so when it came to replacing our ageing but rugged 8460p elitebooks the zbook 15u G6, was an easy choice.) The only gripe we have, is a minor one, an extra USB v3 Type A slot on the left hand side of the unit would have been nice!
What are you getting for on-battery life, Ronald? I'm only getting 4 hours with minimal use. I'm on my 2nd system board from HP Support and trying to keep the case open as I'm very unhappy with the abysmal battery life. Display brightness is mediocre at best and an attempt to use it outside would be pointless. This is about my 5th ZBook mobile workstation (my main at home is the ZBook 17 G4) and this has been a very disappointing purchase and a real let down from the quality I would expect when moving up to the ZBook series from general business EliteBook (which I have purchased about 200 for our office).
hmmm I got this for Christmas... but like my laptop doesn't have an sd card slot. its blocked by a silver thing. Edit: oh wait my bad this is the G6 not G5
Today is important power consumpton. Buy there is no word about it :( Looking for efficient but eergy saving laptop. So considering 850 G6 and this model... But I guess that additional GPU is consumming much more energy. So that's why I look for some Watts informations in real reviews... But there is a leak of such data infortunatelly :(
It will struggle a bit due to the age of the components...but will work if you have plenty of memory (32GB) and a fast storage drive. Video encoding will be slow.

What is observed about the ZBOOK 15u G6 is that it does not have a slot for another hard drive. Comparison of the 14u G3 and G4

Did you try pressing the silver thing? Usually it's just a place holder to prevent dust that pops out.

The AMD WX3200 is an entry level professional graphics processing unit so it depends on your workflow usage with the animation programs.
