Fraudsters create fake profiles on leading matrimonial websites for cheating.If there is any demand for the transfer of funds, cross verify the genuineness of the person.
HOW DO WE MITIGATE IT?
Create profiles only on a registered matrimonial site. Verify educational qualification and job description by calling up educational institutes or employer.
If you are getting married, Instead of taking the decision on your own, it’s better to involve family members.
Visit the person’s house and meet his/her parents & relatives not once but a number of times. Invite them to your house as well.Do a lot of background verification about the interested person.
NEVER REVEAL YOUR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION
Keep your username and password safe. Remember, no one from any trusted service will ever ask you for the same. For your safety, it’s recommended that you change the password regularly.
CHECK BEFORE LOGGING IN
To access a trusted service, always type in the correct URL of the trusted service into your browser window. Do not click on unsafe links. This keeps your credentials safe and secure. Unsafe links may lead you to a phishing page that captures all your credentials.
BACKGROUND CHECKS
Please commit to marriage only after face-to-face meetings, especially after meeting the prospective groom or bride’s parents/relatives.Visit their place of work. Do a thorough personal reference check.You may also want to look at their social media profiles.If the person is reluctant to share workplace or job details or meet in person along with parents, you should be cautious.

Many people are doing fraud from India and Pakistan in our ( *UKMarriageBureau* ) name as well. They mention not only our name but also our logo, office address, website to gain people's trust. Most of their targets are girls and they are stealing lakhs of rupees by luring them to send gifts. We are receiving complaints every day.

I emailed to employer to check if groom really works in that organization. Employer refused to give information and said they don't share personal information. In such case, how can i verify profile of the groom?

With the payslip u will be able to check if the payslip is genuine or not and u can check if the salary credit date and amount is matching with the payslip

Today i experience a fraudulent with me......20 June started talking..27 landed Mumbai airport from Scotland Aberdeen to Mumbai .. introduce himself as a pediatrician Dr name Vishnu Aarush ...works at Aberdeen infirmary hospital...told me 27th I's my birthday ..I would like to spent my b day with u and get connected flight from Kolkata around 2:40 we will meet in kolkata airport.....around 11.30 get a pH call from airport authority .and one lady said that he he bring unlimited uk currency customs officer cised everything...he don't know anyone from India I have to give him 50000 for this purpose...when I said I don't have that much money..he said sell my gold to save him.....only 1 time he what's app calling with me nd speak with typical Aberdeen Scotland local language.....i refused to do that nd he threaten me I came India for u ..i don't have any R8 to play with his life ..then I suddenly I search u tube video and connect an u tuber who making this kind of fraud case video . contact him telling everything he said 100% fraud don't pay money just block him..

Sir today received the call and the person told that he will be providing a job for resume entry and 600 resumes in 7 days, he asked my adhar card ,and i send it, he then asked me to sign a contract online but i didn't signed it, he then said my account is created and for stopping it i will have to pay 5900 rs. He was sending messages to be ready with lawyer, the company name was resume to fill,i blocked him ,what should I do sir now.please help sir.

Sir , my parents registered my accout in a renowened keralin matrimony site.I recieved many genuine interest from Ms engineers NRI because I am engineer myself and I am planning to study abroad.Among those one interest said that he is a USA base doctor .His dad passed away and mom is a home maker.So, he said he would like to talk to me first before proceeding the necessary with the elders.His name was a little vague but I thought like you just said its because people want to keep information private.However i decided to meet online through google meet,though i am not comfortable with video calls.
From the moment he joined the link his cam was off .I quickly switched mine off too,bcoz i felt its was fishy.He kept insisting me to swicht on my camera and made an excuse that his cam was off because he is in a military boot camp and he cant access camera at that point.He would switch on the camera next time he calls.He said he'd like to talk and get to know before draging your parents but then on a decided date, he does this and he can see me but i cant.I felt it lacked ethics.
After that he asked me if I had hormonal issues, mental problems,physical disability.That was understandable while looking for a suitable partner so i answered.Then he started asking me for my measurements.That took me completely off guard, and i clearly said no.I mention that i was a girl and talking stuff like this to a man whom i cant see and also dosent have a social account was not safe.He told me I was insulting his self respect and it was normal to ask a potential date about this and just ended the call.I am so confused.Do men ask like that? Is it fine to ask quesions like that to someone online?.Becoz his escuse was that he is asking this quesion privately to a woman who he might marry?He said talks like that is necessary and i was acting like he is a terorist?
However I dont know if i am old school.But i am not going to get into trouble even if i am misunderstood

Hello Sir. As a Law enforcement Officer please also throw some light on ‘legal frauds’ carried out by females after marrying men through a matrimonial site. How they file harassment, attempt to physical violence, and dowry charges on grooms after weeks/months of marriage. How they demand divorce with maintenance/alimony after months of marriage and get away with it most of the times. I appreciate what you explained in this video, but I am sure we are more vulnerable to be duped by fraudsters after they get married to us. That’s a bigger concern than this.
