    They are bullet-proof buggies. Had 4 of them in the last 20 years. My latest one is the updated version. Replaced the steering servo (too slow), shocks (big bores) and installed an OS .21 and its still very completive at club racing. Heavy, but it handles well and never breaks.

    Found one of these on eBay for a great price, comes today. I'm so pumped, it even has the optional two speed. Never had a two speed in a buggy, should be a fun ride. Thanks for the video, its helping calm my excitement.

    I had a Hyper 7 Pro race kit back in the day and the diffs were sealed. Not sure why they wouldn't be on that one.

      The outdrives have o-rings, but there's no gasket on the ring gear.

      @RazorRCDeuce is there no alternative you can use, that's seems a bit of an unusual oversight on a buggy from that era.

    Got two Hyper 8.5 Rollers for 70€ on Ebay last week.
    Both are still in good shape!👍🙂

    FYI...alot of the chassis suspension parts arms upper lower links diff and gears are interchangeable with the extinct Duratrax 835e I've been using them.

      I've got a hot bodies lightning stadium that's morphed gradually with the help of hpi trophy parts, sourcing spares for older stuff can be fun.

    I've had numerous hyper 7s nitro and converted to brushless. I also had the hyper 9 now that was excellent but wasn't taken up in a big way. Parts support was the hyper9 down fall. If I wanted another nitro then hyper 7 with the 3 port .21 would me my choice as unfortunately the Mach .28 was a pain to tune. There was a group of us all with hyper 7s of differing ages but could all swap or provide parts for each other. Performance for price and durability has to be the best in the industry. Handling with some tuning basics was amazing. Diff oils set up was front 5k centre 7k rear 3k for nitro. I've been in the hobby 30 years had just about every brand for rtr stuff. Hyper 7 is still carries great memories.

      I've got a GS Storm, I'm sure I've swapped out hyper parts that looked like they fit, it's quite similar and used the hyper 21 engine, I try and buy rollers for spares if they come up, the diffs are bullet proof, I've got a 5.9 savage motor in it😁.

      @@Mark5mith nice, I've got a GS Storm too that I've been bringing back to life, hopefully can get a video on it soon.

    I love Hobao’s stuff, I have a VS Pro with Hyper 8’s suspension swapped onto it. Despite being a basher type buggy it still does well on the track.

    That has what happened to my Sportwerks Mayhem. I bought it in 2003 or 04' I raced it for a while. I packed her away for 20 ish years. I have just pulled them back out. I do have some spare parts but as you said. It is hard to find parts for, so no bashing lol. I will be buying a new one. I like the Hyper 7 Buggies.

    • @RazorRCDeuce
      @RazorRCDeuce  7 месяцев назад +1

      that's the hardest thing about these nitro buggies, they usually only last a few years before being discontinued.

    • @GrandPitoVic
      @GrandPitoVic 7 месяцев назад

      That's true. Like a cell phone. They discontinue them quickly, so you have to buy another lol.

    I put diff fluid in the diffs that have orings to seal them. I hope they hold fluid haven't run it yet waiting on some engine parts to find out. They are really cheap right now rtr and it's a limited sale with a limited number of stock for sale. I could have gone used losi cause there is a ton out there on market place but can't trust horizon hobbies to actually have parts with how things have been going.

    • @RazorRCDeuce
      @RazorRCDeuce  7 месяцев назад

      I think there's no top gasket on the ring gear IIRC.

    • @nickpelland74
      @nickpelland74 6 месяцев назад

      @@RazorRCDeuce Update on the diffs. There is a oring that goes on top of the case between the ring gear. I'm 3/4 of a gallon in and they haven't leaked yet. Ran a quart and a half at the track on sunday. Broke the stock chassis brace have the solid aluminum ones on the way, have the upgraded aluminum hubs. I'm no amain guy but the platform can still go out and run a 20 minute main with the rest of them. I could see wanting something more down the line but not right now.

    Hobao delivers much for the money. How would you say it differs from Kyosho inferno neo 3.0?

    • @RazorRCDeuce
      @RazorRCDeuce  7 месяцев назад +1

      They're similar actually. I think the Hobao has better quality, the Inferno is cheapened version of their race buggy. But it has a really good engine!
