My mother worked under John Marks, as one of his junior doctors in the north of England. She told me that after the government shut his clinic down, he emigrated to new zealand.
From what I understand it was pressure from the reagan administration >then to the thatcher government>then to the local government authority dr marks was operating under, that got his clinic closed down. (I'm not sure if he was able to continue some of his ideas over in new zealand,as a doctor.) He seemed to be well ahead of his time.
My mum's almost 80 now, so I'm assuming Dr Marks is even older, so I hope he's doing well. I've seen him on some documentaries in the last few years, but as others have said on other videos, footage and knowledge of his work is quite sparse - & ideally should be more widely available. I believe that one or 2 countries in Europe have drug policies that are based on his work.

This is the absolute best & only real solution to helping/saving millions of our most vulnerable. The real question is does our government REALLY want a solution or do they prefer to continue to profit off the backs of the deeply broken. Sadly it would seem the latter remains the norm....... We need this to change!!!!

Dr. JA Marks is one of the few doctors on this planet who honour their Hippocratic Oath to 'do no harm'. In maintaining the current prohibitionist policies of government, anything other than his treatment model makes other doctors, by default, oath breakers whom we ought to hear very clearly publicly speaking out against the significant failures of prohibitionist policy and calling, non stop, for reform.

From the Mafia 😂 This is the right approach, I’m a recovering addict and could very easily have committed crime at my worst to get what I needed. I live in Cheshire too!
I wouldn’t have thought the “Heroin reefers” would be pointless. That’s why it’s smoked on foil, it’ll just combust and be wasted in a cigarette?

I smoke brown heroin in joints with skunk pretty often TBH, same effect as on the foil, the rolling tobacco smokes slow so I don't think it's destroying much, but they say even on foil your only receiving 65-70% of your dose that you put on, versus 95-99% in the pin,

It wasn't just heroin. They had morphine, methadone, freebase cocaine, and amphetamine reefers. The drugs were dissolved in chloroform and the solution was injected into a tobacco/ herbal cigarrette. The chloroform evaporates in a few minutes, leaving the dissolved drug behing. Between 1989 and early 1990, the percentage of IV drug users dropped at the Halton dependency clinic from 65 per cent to 51 per cent thanks to the smokable options.

This method work's, it's better than any other treatment anywhere in the world. What will it take for this to happen. Crime goes down 90% anywhere this roles out. Start the conversation again, maybe this time they will stick with it once rolled out.
