Just discovered this place summer of 23. The smoked fish is fantastic, but the beef jerky is the best I have had in my 63 years. We will be back there every summer going forward.

My wife and I discovered Leland on our honeymoon in June of 1971, and we were lucky enough to visit there many times over our 47 years together before she passed away. Try the food at The Cove or The Bluebird Cafe for fresh seafood (love the lake perch) and ice cold beer. It's a quaint little village that hasn't changed very much in the last fifty years right in the middle of Michigan's fabulous wine vineyards and tasting rooms. If you have time and a little extra cash, I do highly recommend that you take one of the charter fishing boats out of Leland harbor. I have fished a few times with Captain Jim Munoz and the Carol Dee and we have usually caught tons of fish. If you take your fish to Carlson Fisheries they will clean, fillet, package and even ship it home for you. You can even trade your fresh fish fillets for some of their smoked fish which is just amazing. If you take some fresh fish to The Bluebird, they will cook it however you want.
