Hey Steve, they are a very cool species to chase in all sizes. Unbelievable session, one that will be hard to beat especially out there fishing with my boys and my brother.
@@DanWebberFishing Certainly will I went chasing them today 50 & 56cm, in solid condition/ thick Dropped a couple of big girls & let 1/2 a dozen smaller ones grow bigger Great morning before the heat
Thanks John, happy to hear you are enjoying it. This was definitely not my easiest edit, with no real plan and a mash up of people and sessions it took some effort to get the flow right. Luckily the amazing fishing made that side of it easier.
It is an amazing place that I have been visiting for 35 years, I have so many great memories from when I was a kid fishing up there with my Dad and Pop. It’s amazing to see the fishing is still great.
Mate that was an unreal session, unbelievable. I put a bit more into the filming of this one, which takes a fair bit of effort but makes for a great edit.
Not me mate, coming from the fresh water it pays to appreciate each and every session both good and bad. We were completely blown away, it was just a couple clues we got coming together quickly for us. It could have gone the other way, and that’s a big part of why we love it. 🎣
I’m going to try Forster keys tomorrow. I fished there today and only managed 3 tiny bream (10cm) on prawns as bait. What would you recommend in turns of location at Forster keys bait lures and time for flathead. All I want is one or two flathead to take home for dinner and I can never seem to catch them. Could you please give me some advice for this location so I can take one home for dinner
I have never fished the keys so I can’t give much advice on that, what I can say is because there isn’t any natural flow of water up there it wouldn’t be my first pick of spots and may be while your not finding many fish. Flow brings food. 4inch soft plastics in natural baitfish colours are a good flathead option. Go and see the guys at Barclays, they will hook you up.
Cause you don’t recommend Forster keys to catch flathead where could you recommend landbased in Forster where I would definitely be able to catch a flathead for dinner
Hey mate, I did shoot a bit of rigging footage that didn’t make it in this clip. It was a pretty rough set up as I wasn’t overly prepared or equipped. I’ll see if I can put something together but basically I split ringed off the main hook and held it in place with a length of braided line.
It was crazy to find so many great fish, once we worked out where they liked to feed it was all on. I was throwing a 6” CAST Prodigy mostly and also the bait junkie 6.2 My brother was throwing an 8” Biwaa.
Thanks mate, I learned how to fish up there with my Dad and Pop when I was a kid. They both lived up there for a bit over the years and so I have built up a reasonable amount of knowledge ( always learning) I do a lot more fresh water fishing for Cod yellas and trout, I’ll have to check out your lures.
Weren’t they ever, we were blown away by the number of big fish we not only caught but seen as well. It’s amazing what you can do and see if you focus on a specific target
I did film mate and will be putting a clip together but this one will be a little different too the rest. More a punchy, fun clip with short cut outs from the go pro’s.
Yeah & these big Breeders are always put back where they belong to keep the Flatties still making good plate fish. Everyone knows that the bigger they are, the tougher, which isn’t the best feed.
That’s one epic adventure boys! Incredible stuff. What a session
Crazy aye, I don’t think we will ever see a flatty session like that one again.
So many familiar spots fished in this vid. From a Flattie fanatic, Well done.
Thanks mate, I love the place. I’ve been fishing the lake since my Dad and Pop taught me how to fish up there over 30 years ago.
Epic Session Fellas
I Love chasing Flatties

Hey Joel, thanks so much mate. Greatly appreciated.

Easy to think it'll always be like that. Haha what a session probably won't sink in until you have a donut session

Hi Dan, do you have a video on how to rig a treble hook to the 6” Cast paddle tail?
Hey mate, I did shoot a bit of rigging footage that didn’t make it in this clip. It was a pretty rough set up as I wasn’t overly prepared or equipped. I’ll see if I can put something together but basically I split ringed off the main hook and held it in place with a length of braided line.

Hey Dan, what is your swimbait rod setup ?
This one is a Shimano Zodias 7’5 12-25lb matched with an Abu revo rocket high speed reel. 50lb Dogtooth braid
Hey mate. Did you up the size ov your leader from 30. What leader was your brother running? Awesome session guys well done
Hey Jason, I ran 30 and 40lb. I’m glad I was running 40 when that last fish put me around the pole.
Hey Dan did you do a video for the father son comp at woolgarlo

Absolutely every big fish is looked after and released, I love a feed of flathead something around 40cm is good for the table.
