hello guys! welcome to nepal 🫶 those ‘deep fountain ponds’ are called dhunge dhara or hiti in nepalese! they are traditional stone drinking fountains which are part of a really complex drinking water supply system that our ancient rulers made throughout the kathmandu valley , though they aren’t used as frequently now , you can still catch people washing clothes there! if i am not wrong , they date back to 400AD and the last known hiti was built in the 1800’s. oh yes, i almost forgot to tell you that these fountains also used to run 24/7 as it drew water from underground sources , however , as Kathmandu has become a densely populated concrete jungle , the groundwater these hitis draw from have not really been able to replenish , hence its rare to see water flowing through them.
Mt Everest 8848m It was one of the Buddhist bodhisattva named Manjushree who split open the mountain on the south to form the Kathmandu valley. Thank you.
23:01 The deep water bath-like structure is called 'Dhungedhara' in Nepali. Here is what chatgpt says about Dhungedhara- "They are traditional stone spouts found in the Kathmandu Valley, often serving as communal water sources for locals. Dhunge dhara means "stone water tap" in Nepali. Ancient Kathmandu Valley maintained the water supply using Dhunge Dhara by tapping into natural water sources like springs or underground aquifers. Channels and pipes made of stone or clay were used to divert water from these sources to the Dhunge Dhara. The system likely involved careful engineering and maintenance to ensure a steady supply of clean water to the community." Hi Chantal, Angelique, Julia, Chloe and Tyler!!! Katmandu is and amazing city and I love those pants 👖 that y'all bought, they look nice!!! The chow mein that Chloe ordered looked delicious 😋!!!
In india they asked you for selfie so that back in home, they can say that their girlfriend was white 😂😂 meanwhile in nepal people really dont bother it is very safe to travel even if your alone lady.
Indians have ...white complex since they were ruled by British..mean while Nepal Never Was ruled so ...Nepal are traditional authentic hindus/Buddhist mean while india are idk remenents of destroyed civilization
Yes they use the selfies for ...... purposes. Its plain objectifying. There is a difference between North-Indian plains people, and places like Nepal, Ladakh, Sikkim & North-East states. They don't have a complex about skin-colour.
Guys have a great time in my country nepal, but you should go to Pokhara it's more chilled out than Kathmandu because there are way too many people in KTM, and also try some remote areas and also do some treekings like Annapurna base camp trekking is one of the most famous and good trekking for begineers. I'm hope ur daugther are not sick again and the tall girl is really beautiful and the mom is too beautiful and other 2 girls are as well, beautiful family. Have a good time here
Miss Chantal:Thanks you so much for this new remarkable video this weekend in Kathmandu, Nepal to shows these amazing places on the streets in June of 2024❤❤❤
Hi!! We have just started the process of working towards taking a full year of travel with our 3 girls as well. Your videos are so inspiring. We have a 5, 6, and 8 year old. We plan to start in Southeast Asia and make our way to Brazil! Sending thankful thoughts from the USA!
Hello guys, thank you so much for bringing out such an amazing treat to the eyes, i am watching this video from Saskatoon Canada and awaiting for Pashupatinath Temple in the next video!❤
This video reminds me of my days in Kathmandu where i grew up… now I am watching it from Canada through Canadian vloggers 😮 thank you for the visit and the videos
Hello guys those fountain pond you called are not ponds. Those are natural spring water outlet. Back in the days those outlets were the places where the people got their water from. So the citizen of KTM, patan and Bhaktapur would go and get their water for their cooking, washing and cleaning. There are many of these all across the city specially where the old houses were.
The deep fountain ponds are known as ‘Dhungedhara’ - Stone spouts. They are traditional water fountains that draw water from natural springs and hold significant religious and cultural importance. They historically functioned as communal water sources for drinking, washing, and daily activities.
Thank you for visiting our beloved country Nepal 🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵..Hope you visit to other beautiful places of Nepal like Pokhara, Mustang,Chitwan,Annapurna circuit,Everest base camp and many more..have a wonderful day❤️❤️❤️🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵

I was concerned about all the stairs at the monkey temple but you said you took a taxi to a point where you had to walk much less than - what was that # of stairs? Where do I ask my taxi to take me to? And this was the monkey temple in Kathmandu central, not in one of the outlier cities?
There are two gates to go up to the monkey temple. East and west. They went from west side and it is easier to walk because it is not straight to the top like the other one.
Hi and welcome! I hope you are planning not to just roam around Kathmandu. Mountains are Nepal's true gems and unfortunately it is not the right season for that. But i wish you all the best and enjoy the hospitality of the Nepalese. I'd say food and Nepalese music are very underated too so while here please do explore them if you have time.
Welcome to Nepal beautiful lady's !! Video was amazing!! Keep going lady's... hope you loved being here in Nepal and by the way specifically from which place of Canada you guys belong to?? 😊😊
😎😎🙏🙏. Nepali people are so nice and calm overall. Go to Pokhara for a more chilled vibe if you like plus good hiking trails. World Peace Pagoda, Statue of Lord Shiva and Sarangkot view point of the Annapurna mountain range.

It was the one close to the city. If you ask the taxi driver to bring you up to the top he’ll know what you mean. If not I think it’s a 365 stairs.
There are two gates to go up to the monkey temple. East and west. They went from west side and it is easier to walk because it is not straight to the top like the other one.
Welcomed to Nepal❤ hope you like it here. Kathmandu is great but I suggest you to visit pokhara also
