- This drum tutorial breaks down In Bloom by Nirvana. There are some great fills in the intro and the chorus that you should definitely learn and this drum video should help you work them out. Thanks! I'm just now getting into drums after years and years of wanting to, but never committing to buying a kit. Finally I did, and this is definitely one of the first songs I want to learn, once actually using drumsticks stops feeling so weird! This was one of the first albums I ever heard and the drums blew me away, especially the intro to this song. Along with Kurt's guitar, it was almost scary.

@@RoboticRebel To be honest, I've squandered this past year in terms of practice time! Effectively, I have 3-4 months under my belt. I still find it difficult to play this song at speed (mainly that intro/bridge fill, flam flam kick flam kick flam kick). It's deceptively difficult! I quickly accepted that it would not be the first song I would learn. Best of luck!

Yeah I would say partially. Just so they slush up a bit. But use your ears and do whatever sounds good to you!

Yep! Those are 16th notes on the hi hats, so 1e+a 2e+a etc. is the way to go!

How do you get your toms to sound deeper
I find coated drum heads sound a bit warmer/deeper - these are Evans Coated G2s. You could definitely just try tuning your drum lower but even if you do that I still like to keep the bottom head a little bit higher pitched than the top head. Muck around with it and see if you can find something you're more happy with!
