It's bc of stories like this one regarding forced and arranged marriage, I have 0 respect for our elders. They preached what they themselves can not do. The first mother that was forced into marriage told her daughter not to follow in her footsteps, but yet she and her husband forced their daughter to marry dab laug's son. I blame the parents for repeating the tradition of forced marriage, and it created a terrible marriage life for the daughter.

This is so true. My parents kept harassing me, my ex, and his parents to do a traditional wedding then we finally did a wedding. When shi* hit the fan and I tried to divorce the traditional way, all of a sudden, my parents and the relatives were like you don’t need to call the OGs for a meeting, just leave his sorry a**… SMDH, my parents only wanted the price of my head, but not help me divorce the correct way according to their ways. When I married my current spouse, all those issues came up at the table, and I’m not sure what sobby story my side of the family came up with… Life is what you make it and the only person who can make you happy is yourself, not your parents, not your spouse.

I dont know if I agree with the part that you said about finding the right size, right scent, and right everything before u marry them. There is no such thing as a perfect partner. U get some, u loose some. So I think love and faithful is more important, it doesn't matter if the size is small or big. If big is what u are looking for, u will not receive love.

My family was labeled as bad “Gangster” back then when we lived in a Hmong community apartments. But we turned out good and all them GOOD girls back then are now all divorced or dating Old man/ other people husband.

Wow Sister, i believe u are too stubborn with ur decisions. When u just married him, u could have walked away but u feared ur ex may not want u, so u decided to stay married.
