I have lived in Egypt for 6 years and trust me, the Egyptian food is like the best and most unforgettable thing about Egypt so far. The fella and his missus were so sweet, knowledgeable and passionate about food, you could hear it in their voices and see it in the way they searched for the perfect spot to get certain dishes. They were S+ guides in both personality, camera presence and ability to seek out amazing food joints to showcase the diversity in their food culture and cuisines; love those two to pieces and I hope we get to see them again some day soon!

OMG... When I saw this stuffed pigeon I flew back in time! In the early 80’ I am 10 and during a tour round the world we stopped in Egypt. My first and best stuffed pigeon was also in Cairo -though mine had green peas with the rice. Then we went on a seven day cruise on the Nile, and the captain was playing a sort of horizontal lyre after dinner outside. He had a missing phalange, and his boat was chosen for the movie *Death on the Nile*... WOW... Fast forward, back in April 2020 with the Covid-19 and the lockdown, I am a private guide stuck in Paris since 8 March, obviously no tours showing up (which means zero income), but thanks to your videos I can travel in my memories -and this stuffed pigeon was something! TAKE CARE everyone

it is clear that Egyptians love contrasting textures in their food. The national dish is pretty much all carbs, but the form those ingredients take are numerous. The mango drink being chunky, thick and juicy. The dynamite with the crunchy/soft falafel and firm egg peices. Even the cheese pastry with it's 4 types. I hope to try these dishes there someday.

The green slimy soup it's called mloukhieh in Lebanese cuisine. It's serve with pieces of chicken, meat and baked bread on top. It's eaten with rice and it compliments perfectly with vinegar and onion

I never said they didn’t, but do they belong in a kitchen where food is being prepared, no they don’t. These cats are often riddled with disease and are walking around garbage and faeces and eating dead animals and then walking around where food is prepared and sold to the general public. Yes I’ve been there, yes I saw it happening and yes we all got sick from it.
