the reason Mastercam for Solidworks is underutilized is because you need both seats on the same computer and that gets very expensive. i know the company i work for won't get a seat for me is because i'm just a dumb machinist, what could i possibly need Solidworks for. i suppose large companies have production engineers to program but most shops i know it is either a operator/programmer or a programmer that will not use Solidworks functionality. i believe this is an area Mastercam could do much better.

Nail on the head. I am a CSWP and a programmer. You betchya I use mcam4sw at work to write high volume production programs. Design fixtures etc and program all in one shot. It's a beautiful thing. 2021 is my recommended year btw. 2020 and 2019 had some glitches that caused me to lose work on a few occasions.
